CoasterCrazy
I have never ate at White Castle but I'm sure the food is about the same as the food at Krystal. Also, I haven't ate at Whataburger either!
jynx242
I Freaking loved Whataburger! When I lived in Dallas, we would eat from there at least once or twice a week. GREAT hangover food! david
SharkTums
Hmm, yeah, that's going to be something to consider. Joey pretty much cleared the queue for Batman the next day after consuming White Castle!
Wes
^ Considering I'll probably be rooming with him, I think we need to stay AS FAR AWAY FROM WHITE CASTLE AS POSSIBLE.
SharkTums
^Honestly Wes, it could probably burn all the mucous off of your lungs for weeks!

mcjaco
Hmm, yeah, that's going to be something to consider. Joey pretty much cleared the queue for Batman the next day after consuming White Castle! Hmmm, the last time I was there someone lit up a joint in the tunnel. I'm not sure which is worse. Although, it did make the ride a bit more trippy.
Carnage
^ They probably ended up at White Castle after that ride, thus completing the circle of life.
thecoasterkid
Forget about WhiteCastle or any of those other places...take me to a Steak n Shake! I hit the one in Sandusky every time I go down to Cedar Point, or at the Cross Roads near Disney. I am so excited about everything on this trip, it's ridiculous. Louise
OMG, Steak N Shake, I could LIVE off Steak N Shake!!!! I wanna go on the Midwest trip. Stupid August airfare. Of course, in total, that trip would probably cost me less than the Japan trip, which I'm somehow attempting to afford, but something tells me I'll get plenty of chances to visit more US parks in the future, whereas Japan may not be so easy, so I'm gonna take the opportunity while I have it. I can't believe I just spent like 2 hours reading this thread. I need to not fail to log in for weeks again. Roll on Spain!

Louise
Couple of questions... (I have about a dozen relating to Japan but most of them are details that will be sorted out at a later date.) I'm just wondering a little bit about the practicalities, and basically whether I'll enjoy the Adventure Tour style as much. I know you guys are all about everybody having fun and that the people and places and everything will be awesome, (believe me, after the UK trip I don't think anybody could doubt that your trips will ever be anything less than perfect, you guys rock) but: you stated there'll be little kinda sub-groups? I'm guessing maybe you, Robb and Dan(?) lead a group of 10 each, approximately? Sorry to ask annoying questions, I guess I'm just curious about the logistics of this, how much the participants are going to see each other. Obviously we'll be in the same hotels and stuff, but is this going to be a much more independent trip, with less group events as a rule? If there's little ERT and few group meals, I'm thinking the dynamic is going to be somewhat different to the UK trip? I've been wondering about this for a few days, whether I'll enjoy myself *quite* as much. I think after the UK trip many of us are spoiled, Japan won't be half as easy as all lounging around on a bus being chauffeured around. Somewhere miles back in the thread there was a blink-and-you'll-miss-it reference to a HKDL add-on... But in the chat transcript you stated no add-ons for Japan... I know from the UK trip arrangements that any add-ons for the trips will most likely be much closer to the trip and I shouldn't really ask this at this moment in time, but I guess I'm wanting to know whether it's a definite *"NO"*, or a "most likely not". If there's mention of two Disney resorts in one trip I may drop out of Spain and put all my funds into Asia. As far as packing light goes, I know all that will be dealt with in several months time. But would my interpretation of what's been said earlier be correct: That we would only be staying in 4 or 5 hotels for the duration of the trip, as opposed to a different one every one or two nights? Meaning the bigger bags would be left at the hotel while we take backpacks to the parks, which are usually an hour or two away from where we're staying? Finally, any chance of us staying in a capsule hotel?! Always fancied that. Sorry I missed the chat nights, know I could've asked all of this there instead of adding to this thread of doom now. Zen Coaster
Love American hamburgers though haven't been to that many different chains. McDonalds, Burger Kings, Hardee's and Wendy's basically... I'd imagine you'd have a few chains of those fast food sushi places where the food goes around the tracks... they any good/widespread? Because they are good value over here and you can eat healthy that way.
SharkTums
Good questions Lou! I might be in your neck of the woods soon and we can chat in person but let me try and answer a bunch of your questions here. We will all be going around (transportation/hotels at least) as a full group. Yes you might have a 'captain' most likely Robb, Dan, or myself, but we will be in the same train cars, same areas, etc. It is more so instead of having to count off 30 people to make sure everyone is there, our captains can quickly count to 10 and we can get on and off trains fast and easy. Having group captains like this also can allow for the possibility of leaving early or late. If some people are 'so done' with a park, but others want to stay, we can break into groups of who wants to stay, and who wants to go back to the hotel early. I think it will work out well with the smaller group and captains. As for if you'll have fun or not, I think you will. You're smart, self suffcient, and know your limitations. This trip is not going to be for 'worryworts' or people that are overly clingy, or think they can stay up all night drinking for the first time ever and make a 6am bullet train the next morning! Yes it will require you to pay more attention than the UK trip but not much more. Basically instead of sitting on a bus, you'll be on a train. You don't need to worry about which one, where it's going, when to get off, you just need to follow our instructions when we tell you what time and where to meet! With the current state of our jobs, there really is no way we could do an addon for the Japan trip. With the three trips next summer we're already pushing our days off. Now granted, if we were to change our job situations and have time, yes we'd probably offer something. But to be honest we're leaning more towards a Korea or Taiwan quick trip. Saving Hong Kong for the TPR China trip (Date TBD!). Hotels. As of right now, our schedule has us so that you'll always be able to leave all of your stuff in a hotel while we go off to parks with the exception of one day. Being that this is an Adventure tour though, you will not have Dan and Nigel loading your bags onto a train everyday, so you must be able to walk, do stairs, etc. with ALL of your luggage. Sorry to disappoint, but the Capsule hotel thing totally freaks me out...NO! Hope this answers some of your questions for now!
