abc2001
Might have little choice though how else do you get around the USA? Flying isn't even cheap there. Flying in Europe and renting cars is surprisingly cheaper. A Ford Focus is about $200 - $300a week, but for that you get full insurance (Zero excess) and unlimited mileage usually, and often there is no extra for under 25's. robbalvey
Guys, can we please keep this thread on topic about the TPR trips. If you have questions about your own trips, please either post it in the general forum or the Ask Alvey board. Thanks. --Robb
TexTitan01
Robb, can you release any info on ERT sessions if you've worked any out? If we get ERT at Holiday World, I'll be soo happy. If we get ERT on Voyage, I'll be in complete heaven. Also, just wondering if you've recieved my deposit yet. I'm just a little anxious just because I've never sent money that far over the mail before and I need to be proven it'll get to you. Thanks, -Tex
Twister II
Are there going to be nights that we won't be in a hotel and staying on the bus, driving threw?
Screamomatic
So, how many Canadians are planning on going on the Midwest Trip?
Darien Laker
Wow this sounds like it will be great fun. I'll probably be sending my deposit soon....for the midwest trip that is.
coaster05
For those wondering about ERT I am sure they have mentioned that it takes tons of time to get that worked out. I remember it being early spring when I saw the first happy announcement on our UK board about ERT and some were still coming very close to the time of the trip. Tex for someone who has been ragging on people lately who don't read, you definately fit into that catergory also.

You started it! And I honestly dont remember reading anywhere on a thread, transcript, flyer, forum, ANYWHERE about how long it would take to set up ERT. I've had slips ups in the past, but that I know for sure... I honestly cant think of anywhere where ERT was mentioned before, because I sat at my desk last night when I wrote out the post "Hmm, has ERT been mentioned?.............nope." Now if it has been mentioned, by all means PLEASE point it out; but if it hasn't, then I dont really think I'm at fault. -Tex
robbalvey
Regarding ERT. It says on the flyer (in multiple places): *Perks are still pending and will be announced closer to the trip. * and.... Theme Park Review will do its best to arrange park perks, but they cannot be guaranteed. The trip is already going to be a good value for money even if we got NO park perks, so they should always be looked at as a bonus. This is what we told everyone on the UK trip and we ended up having about 17 hours of ERT, several photo walk backs, etc. As to whoever asked about us having overnight trips on the coach. Think about it - where in the Mid-West would we even have a long enough drive where we'd have to spend 8+ hours on a bus overnight?!?! So the answer is no - there will not be a night where we will be overnight on a bus. --Robb

BarryH
This came up in chat, but someone asked if we were going to visit Stricker's Grove on the Midwest tour. They're open to the public on July 4 and the 2nd week of August. The Midwest tour falls within the dates of their public opening. I don't recall seeing Stricker's Grove listed as a park (I suppose it could be under "and more"), but if you go on this tour, there might be a good chance you can visit Stricker's Grove. Their two coasters are some of the hardest credits to get. Of course, we could rent out the park to ourselves...but nothing is set in stone yet... niiicolaaah
^Barry, I think it's safe to say yes. Somebody asked that question in chat, and Elissa said "You know us too well" or something like that. I think if Robb and Elissa were not planning on visiting the park, they would have said so more clearly.

It seemed fairly obvious when the tentative dates were moved back by a day to end "late" that Sunday, but it couldn't hurt to ask. If we go, it'll just be icing on the cake. As for renting the park out, someone researched it a while back and it requires 500 people minimum, or at least 500 people's cash. Matt
TexTitan01
I'm serious! And I'm also sorry for posting so many stupid questions that have already been answered countless times, I guess reading and fully understanding directions/information is a pet peeve here for most people. Anyways, and this may be out of line, but is there a way we can get a soundoff for everyone who has sent in a deposit for the Mid-America or Spain trips? I think this would be a good idea just so as people who are curious as to a bodycount dont have to go rummaging through thread pages for the occasional "my deposit is sent". Instead just looking on this page in one general area. A simple "I've sent my deposit for " would probably be good. to start, I've sent my deposit for the Mid-America trip -Tex
robbalvey
^ No. Please do not do that. That could result in like 100+ posts. Please just wait until we have everything sorted out and we can let everyone know at the same time how everything gets settled at the end of the month. --Robb "Please do not make this process more difficult for us...thank you." robbalvey
I've recieved some emails and PMs the last couple of days from people asking about how many spots are left on the trips. Our response is this "If you are seriously interested in any of the trips, please send in your deposit. We are working on ways to make it possible that everyone who is interested in going will be able to go. So please DO NOT WORRY about how many spots are left. If you are interested, send in your despoit!" While this isn't a guarantee that there won't be a lottery, if we know exactly how many are serious about the trips, that might open up more opprotunities for more people to go. --Robb
gotdane
Wow, I haven't been here in forever, but this flyer over on WC was enough to get my to come back. jarmor
After reading thru 23 pages of who's and why's and how come's I find myself intrigued to be sending in my dep for the spain trip. I kinda feel that the midwest trip is to give everyone else across the pond a chance to get to us parks so the spain trip is where im leaning right now. Although i'm looking foward to the japan trip im gonna put dibs on the spain trip until... Jarvis "Being the token black guy I know I get extra perks right?"
