I've only ridden upwards launch (Doubleshot). I'd imagine that the Space Shots would give more of a thrill, especially the Doubleshots as you get 2 full blasts up the tower. The anticipation waiting for it to launch makes a great addition as the one at SCBB was actually synchronized with a soundtrack. When I rode it though, the timing was off and it was my first ride. Waiting for it to launch, I thought it was broke down or some weird glitch happening...and suddenly it took off. (Had a 5 second delay after the music started.)

I've ridden the Space Shot, Turbo Drop, and the Combo towers. The combo tower is the better of the other two, as you get a nice pop of air at the top of the tower after the launch up. However, for the launch down, it is more predictable as there's a loud air release right before it launches downward.

I have ridden two Turbo Drops, and three Spaceshots. Of those five S&S towers, the only good one I have ridden is the Spaceshot @ Wiener Prater. So I guess my vote goes to the Spaceshots.....

I think the Turbo drops are dumb. it is just a second of air then the cables "lower" you down.

That is so true. There is a quick acceleration at the top, then you move downwards at somewhat constant speed, and the feeling of falling is gone. They are almost like fast observation towers...

It depends how much the riders weigh. With an 'average' group of riders, the music is in sync. With an empty load, like a test run, it takes almost no time at all to launch. The heavier the load, the more time it takes to fill the air tanks.

I voted for space shots, as their newer ones are great! Maliboomer is just insane... The older ones are pathetic though (Power Tower). Supreme Scream is great and all, but Maliboomer gives a more intense ride and has some great ejector air!

If I had to choose, I would probably go with a Space Shot because of the airtime at the top. However, I think that the combo towers like Superman: Tower of Power at SFOT are much better than both of the choices.

^ Also, I never really liked Mailboomer. It's not very high and the scream guard (rignt?) in too claustraphobic in my opinion.

Whoever says there's more airtime on the turbo-drops should ride one of the small doubleshot towers. The Indiana twins are the best space-shot rides I've ever been on. Power Tower is just a glorified observation tower, and even the space shot side is surprisingly lame compared to the smaller versions. My vote definitely goes for the spaceshot, just for the airtime alone.

space shots rule your just sat there and it just.....well flings you up in the air so why go up at 10mph when you can go up at about 45 - 50mph but even the other one (drop tower) good viewing times can come to mind, I went on Cliff Hanger at Flamingo Land (S&S Tower) which was good. Stopped at the top for like 16seconds (yes I counted, how sad) and then it dropped, plus the feeling that you get on the upward launch when you get to the top to go back down feels like your not in the seat, so thats why I prefer space shots

I dig the Turbo Drops because at the top while waiting your just waiting for it to drop than BAM! your rectem is off the seat and your shoulders smack into the restraints and it feels like your going straight into the ground than you pop back up the tower. I dont know why I like them better but to me a Turbo Drop was a surprise when I went on it and I thought they were more of a thrill than the Space Shots.

My favorite S&S tower is Superman Tower of Power at SFOT, it gives you the best of both worlds with a turbo drop and launch, and the thing is HUGE!!, flippin hot dog man huge . Thats as big as it gets!! It really is the tallest one though. All I can really really say to describe it is it is AMAZING

The one on top of Stratosphere is my #2, not for being that great, (its alright) but for scaring the shizz out of me! Scariest S&S tower ever!

I greatly prefer Space Shots...which are actually winning in this poll. But I'm usually in the minority, opinion-wise!

^ Doctor Doom's Fearfall is my favorite as well. (Although my usual "but I'm biased because I worked on it" caveat applies.)
