Mr Stratosphere
Hey I believe that this is an all time low. As you know the Manhattan Express (New York, New York hotel & casino Las Vegas) has new trains built by Premier.. The ride experience is a little less rough, but it is still a TOGO DEATH MACHINE!! The coaster this week has gotten a new name Old: Manhattan Express New: The Roller Coaster at New York New York John

Mr Stratosphere
So.. Does it count as another credit after a name change?? Well, if anything the new trains by Premier can count lol.. Premier also added a magnetic breaking system to the ride a couple of years ago.. They also increased the height requirement to 58" Does anyone else know if there is another ride with the same or higher height requirement? The new shoulder "clamps" are weird.. But a quote from a friend "At least it doesnt sound like trash cans rolling around the track anymore" John
BelizeIt
So did the new and improved "Roller Coaster at New York New York", also include a new and improved cost of admission? I think the last time I rode the "Manhatten Express" I paid $12.
SharkTums
It was $12.50 last week.

robbalvey
Yeah, I didn't think the new trains made that much of a difference. It "sounded" smoother, but it didn't ride much smoother. Oh well..... --Robb
Mr Stratosphere
I agree, the problem isnt with the trains, its the track John
ebl
"The Roller Coaster at New York, New York?" AHAHAHA!!! Do they think a name change will "hide" the ride's reputation? BTW, I paid $7 to take my only ride on it in March 1999. Eric
jamesdillaman
Am I the only one who thinks the new name is downright sorry? The Roller Coaster at New York New York? Come on, that would be fine for a coaster built in the 20's, but just calling it Roller Coaster now is sort of overdone. They are completely missing the corporate tie ins here. They could be sponsored by Yellow Cab, Checker, or even SEGA's Crazy Taxi. Slap a few stickers on the train and voila, instant moneymaker. -James "New credit for Jeff? LOL" Dillaman
lapseofreason
Dude, that may be the most ridiculous name for a coaster I've ever heard. I mean, when Six Flags dumped Geauga Lake, I thought THOSE new names were pretty stupid, but... this takes the cake. You'd think they could have come up with a better name than that. And just because Mandalay Bay can get away with "THEhotel" doesn't mean that NYNY can do it too. Sheesh.
Satoshi
hey that's not a good name for one coaster yeah the roller coaster at new york new york? don't cheat us we all in the new meanin' for hidin' its real suckin' reputation as ebl says! yeah roughness evil as long as i see a pov on it yeh so give it one crap not more crap. but i'm not mean to it! Mr Stratosphere
The reason why i dont get the name change is because with the old trains they got rid of the checkers for the cab theme.. They get new trains that look like Taxi Cabs and they change the name..I just dont get it.. Also when it was themed for a runaway taxi why did the station look like a subway station!?!? Angry_Gumball
Worst name ever...Sounds too generic. It would be like calling Scream "The Floorless Parking Lot Coaster at Magic Mountain." or the Giant Dipper "The Roller Coaster at the Boardwalk" If they were gonna name it, even Crazy Taxi would be great as it gives some video games some recognition. What Now
I bet most people have called it The Roller Coaster at NYNY.
Rollerholden
I bet most people have called it The Roller Coaster at NYNY. Yeah, they might have changed the name for the GP. I know that whe I talk to a lot of my friends about roller coasters and I say something like "Do you like Medusa at SFMW?" they usually say "Which one is that?" or "Is that the green one?" So, maybe this name change was to help it wasier for the GP. I haven't personally been on this, but it doesn't sound like it's a favorite among enthusiasts. iZak
I have to say this is a good find...I didn't hear anything about this one...Then again, I don't go down to the Strip at all any more...
haiderodes
This is so laughable, but I'm not surprised they went and changed the name. What really surprises me is that they actually spent the money to buy new trains in the first place. But then again, this is the same city that got rid of its only waterpark. I guess as long as its making money eh?
XII
I don't think I'll never get used to calling it the Rollercoaster at NYNY. It'll always be known as Manhurtin Express for me.
Vekoma Fan Boy
WTF kinda name is that? And why does the GP have such a bad memory it's like they say"Hey lets go ride that!" "Hey what is it called?" I don't know, i can't read the sign that's in plain English over the line." I mean it is seriously like they only remember the name "Superman: Ride of Steel" or "Superman: The escape". It is like kids and cartoon character marketing, in fact it pretty much is the exact same thing. And i am REALLY sorry if I'm sounding too obnoxious but sometimes it just aggravates the crap outta me.
waterviper
I'm still calling it Manhattan Express!! Just like I am still gona call Pluto a planet!! Also I wouldn't concider it another credit because the new name is so damn lame it doesn't deserve to be a new credit!
