millertpr Posted January 7, 2018 Posted January 7, 2018 I am looking for information on getting a job at Valleyfair this year as an instrumentalist, but I see no openings on the Jobs website. Does anybody have any Valleyfair entertainment email addresses? Or if an outside company produces the shows, do you know what company that is?
WolfmanfromSUFU Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 I don't think they start hiring until later winter/early spring.
EthanM Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 I don't think they start hiring until later winter/early spring. Applications for most of the positions are already online on Valleyfair's website. https://jobs.cedarfair.com/our-parks/valleyfair/
valleyfairfanatic Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 I don't think they start hiring until later winter/early spring. This is my fifth year working there and I've always applied late november/early december
VF15 Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Looks like the Delirious parts arrived at the park today. Photo from VF's Twitter.
ytterbiumanalyst Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Oh cool! It'll be up by Thursday then.
WolfBobs Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 I hope they broadcast the topping off of the coaster live!
boldikus Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 Always fun to see shiny new coaster track show up at a park!
EliHorton Posted January 15, 2018 Posted January 15, 2018 I know it is always a mistake to look at the Facebook comments, but I did look at the comments on the photo of this on Facebook.
VF15 Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 Valleyfair is challenging Dorney Park for the upcoming Vikings-Eagles game.
CaptainUnknown Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 I wonder if the park will make a similar bet with Six Flags New England when we #Skol #BringItHome
VF15 Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 Well, the Vikings are out, so VF now has to rename a ride for opening weekend. I wonder which ride it’ll be. Steel Eagles? Wild Eagles? Xtreme Eagles?
CaptainUnknown Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 I'm more curious as to which Dorney Park ride will be renamed Patriot for opening weekend.
VF15 Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 The 2018 operating schedule has been released. 107 days to go...
RCjunkie Posted January 25, 2018 Posted January 25, 2018 Does anyone know if there is a way to tell this early if any of the May dates are set for a private event like the last two years with RE/MAX? I could not find anything on the site.
garyman6 Posted January 26, 2018 Posted January 26, 2018 Looks like Sunday June 3 will be closed for a private event.
VF15 Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 A few months late on this news and not 100% Valleyfair-related, but it looks like the Sony indoor theme park proposed to be built in Albertville, MN (about 40 minutes northwest of Minneapolis) might be slightly closer to becoming a reality. https://www.gomn.com/news/a-sony-theme-park-in-minnesota-is-a-step-closer https://www.ci.albertville.mn.us/mall-of-entertainment/
Bzurn Posted February 4, 2018 Posted February 4, 2018 A few months late on this news and not 100% Valleyfair-related, but it looks like the Sony indoor theme park proposed to be built in Albertville, MN (about 40 minutes northwest of Minneapolis) might be slightly closer to becoming a reality. https://www.gomn.com/news/a-sony-theme-park-in-minnesota-is-a-step-closer https://www.ci.albertville.mn.us/mall-of-entertainment/ Would there be roller coaters in there?
VF15 Posted February 7, 2018 Posted February 7, 2018 ^ Based on what I've seen, it looks more like it will likely be mainly motion simulator-style rides rather than roller coasters and flat rides, but either way, I hope all goes well for them since it would be great to have another theme park option in Minnesota. On another note, I am officially returning to Valleyfair this year for my third season as a ride operator. Excited for the upcoming season to get started.
valleyfairfanatic Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 Same here. This will be my fifth year. I'm not a ride op though.
RCjunkie Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 Just checked the city construction permits for VF and they have a new one out there for, "Wood framed Coke Refresh station." It is valued at $120,000. They label it as a 'New Commercial Building' so it does not look like an update to existing smaller outposts. Hopefully it will have Free Style machines like other CF parks. Anyone have any information on where this might go in the park?
VF15 Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Delirious has gone vertical. Photo from Brad Marcy's Twitter. Edit/bump: That was fast, it’s been topped off. Photo from VF’s Twitter.
CaptainUnknown Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Yay for the ride being topped off, but the two-toned thing is going to drive my OCD insane. I guess you could say it's making me... Delirious.
boldikus Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 I love the purple. Prince would like this roller coaster.
