This looks like it'll be a great addition to Valleyfair, airtime or not. So you cant get the feeling of being lifted up by your ass as much as you'd like, big hoot. If you ask me, the just craazy out of control feeling for a woodie is what makes it grand. Lightning Racer is my #1 coaster (havent been on much, forgive me), and it has plenty of that. Its looking like Renegade will have just as much of that feeling and more to offer than LR.

Too bad I dont have any plans to goto Valleyfair.....

I think this looks really good. It's not what you might expect from GCI, but it looks like a neat little coaster. Time will tell on just how good it will be. However, I can say that it is really good for Valleyfair.

Anyone ever tell you that Six Flags Great America is an inanimate object and cannot read?

--Robb "And also people who send letters to inanimate objects are usually known to be INSANE!!!!" Alvey

Robb for the win.

And I guess I now know why my constant email campaign to my radio to tell it to play better music is not working...

As for the new coaster, I'm not jumping up and down here with excitement, but I'll hold off judgement until I get on the ride. VF is a park I've never been to, so perhaps this will give me an excuse to go out and visit the area.

Where in the hell is Valley fair? Is it going to be close to Nashville? If so, I'm there! If not, then I'll have to make a snap judgement as to if I want to travel to VF and get those 7 credits.

Afterall, it is 7 whole credits. As well as braging rights.

The coaster looks pretty cool. OK, you talked me into it. I'm there. Close or not.

In Nashville, you're only an hour or so from a great GCI (KY Rumbler). Go an hour and a half more and you're at SFKK. Holiday World is an hour west of Louisville. Go south from Nashville on I-65 4 hours or so, and you're at SFOG.

PS Pre welcome to the mid south.

Also, Thunderhead is just east on I-40. Another fine GCI product. How could I forget?

Ugh, it appears that it will only be a wooden coaster at VF in the near term, and I'd MUCH rather have an inverted coaster. I actually have a season pass to VF, and the rides just aren't as exciting after you ride them a few times in a row.. They really need a ride in VF that you can ride 100 times and still enjoy it like the first. I know they are limited in the height of rides in VF, but a good inverted coaster in there could sure bring a lot of excitement back to the park. (Raptor isn't as good as Dueling Dragons or even Kraken in my opinion, so they'd need something better than Raptor)

The new coaster all looks a bit blah to me. Nothing out of the ordinary doing nothing particularly well. I really enjoyed Kentucky Rumbler so I'm not looking for a world first and record breaker. Renegade just looks to have quite a bit of nothing going on at times. Not a lot of twisterness and certainly very little airtime. I shall reserve proper judgement till next year when I ride it.

Well, I rode Balder 22 times and loved it as much the 22nd time as i did the 1st time.

I don't know, I don't think I could ever like something as much as when I ride it the first time. The first time you don't know exactly what to expect, unless you've obsessively watched POV footage and know where all the airtime, etc. is. The first time I ride something is always the best.

There's at least three moments in the ride that appear to have airtime (just judging from the video) Check out that tiny hill after the big drop! Of course it will have air, moreso than Thunderhead for sure.

To each his own, but in my own experience a great wooden coaster (including GCI's recent ones like Thunderhead and Kentucky Rumbler) IS that type of coaster, and an inverted coaster can get old after a while. I guess that's the beauty of opinions, though.

[rant]Will you people please shut up about it not being a twister?! The coaster world has been complaining FOREVER that GCI hasn't made any out-and-back coasters! Now we get one and everyone feels the need to explode because there aren't enough crossovers? That's almost hypocrtical.

Make up your mind![/rant]

You mean that hill that may be 20 feet tall and has very little curvature to speak of? yea I don't think there will be much air there. GCI air usually comes on extreme changes in direction.

I'm just trying to find something about that trip that doesn't make me feel bad for skipping

Lisejoebanan wasn't that great. And Enigma was lame.

There, does that make you feel better?

You would think reading some of these posts that GCI has absolutely no clue how to build a coaster.

I haven't been on a bad GCI coaster and have no desire to criticize it pretending to know what it's supposed to be or is before riding it. Or rank it vs. El Toro or Voyage. I'm sure we wont' be disappointed.

Yah, there sure seems to be a lot of people whining about this ride! I just don't get it!?!? We should all be rejoicing, (especially Minnesotans), that another wooden coaster is being built no matter what, not to mention it's from GCI. There is absolutely no reason to whine!!! Here are some of the other possibilities which WOULD have been whine-worthy:

For Immediate Release:

Valleyfair! to get Son Of Beast clone for 2007 season.

OR

Announcement:

Upper Midwests largest themepark to save the long time SBNO Flashback from SFMM!

OR

This just in! Valleyfair to add world record SECOND Arrow Wild Mouse to coaster collection in 2007!

Those would all be reasons to whine, but NOT for a new GCI woodie. Anyone else feel me on this one???
