halation
I was just comparing (I guess I'm jealous) Renegade and The Voyage. Both coasters cost six million, five hundred-thousand dollars. The Voyage is significantly higher and TWICE as long. I suppose there is not much point in comparing what is done but Valleyfair could have got a woodie that is MUCH better (not that I have rode Renegade). Waaaa.Waaaa. steel
Woah, let's not go near a comparison between Voyage and Renegade. That will result in a vicious flame war and a locked thread.
Thrillrider15
I just hope over the years it doesn't become trimmed (like all the other rides in the park, but I'd doubt it would happen).
steel
Where would they put a trim? The only straight track is the lift hill.

My guess is that Valleyfair probably has to build a huge concrete base for the entire part of this ride outside of the floodwall, which is basically on riverbed type land that often floods in the spring. Other than that, I can't think of what would make it so expensive in comparison. Ja, and don't worry about Renegade being possibly "bad". I mean, by looking at a picture of the Knoebel's Phoenix, for instance, you have absolutely no idea how awesome the ride is because it just looks kind of "meh". Renegade could turn out to be the hit coaster of 2007, who knows? I think we should all wait until we ride it until we start reviewing it.

Your last point is right - people said El Toro was lame before it was built, judging off the CGI.
CP_RULES
Where would they put a trim? The only straight track is the lift hill. Any non-turning piece of track can be trimmed. For instance, lets say the air-hill after the first drop.
alpengeist04
^^Very true. People should never judge a book by its cover, so don't judge a coaster till you've ridden it.
CedarPoint420
Seems like they got alot done in 4 days. http://www.valleyfair.com/public/information/photo_galleries/index.cfm If I counted correctly on the 21st they had 4 bents up and by the 25th they had around 20 done. coasterfreak101
I'd say that it is, considering that there appears to be long straight sections of footers leading to/from it. Whatever it is, it looks great!

I was there on Saturday and couldn't see anything. B.T.W. Valleyscare was really fun. They must have put a lot of work into that. Definately will be going every October. the_rock401
The turnaround is just about done, and is best viewed from County Road 101 during daylight hours. It also appears that this won't be as hard as we thought to get pictures of the site. No sitting at Flying Cloud with a massive telephoto lens trying to get pictures. Xme3
Wow, this is getting up so amazingly fast. And because we have been having a mild winter (so far) I don't think that the construction team will be in any danger of being snowed-out.
