SharkTums
Yeah, I'm really thinking we should have some sort of Application process! I mean, there are just as many messed up 18+ people out there as 16/17 year olds!!!!

TexTitan01
Hey....I'm a perfectly responsible/mature 16 (will be 17) year old ... Â Really though, I think Elissa has a point about there being as many immature 18+ yr. olds out there as there are 16-17 yr olds. An application process doesnt sound like too bad of an idea either... ChrisFL
^ I dont think it'll be that much. Compared to the UK tour that was this past summer, which costs were only about 1700$ (see flyer for more legitimate prices), I doubt itll be like 5-6k for Japan. I have $1300 saved from my summer job, and more's on the way, so I'll be totally self funded for the trip I believe..  wow you're 16 and saved $1300 from a summer job...man, wish I was good at saving money like that back when I was
TexTitan01
^ I'm a lifeguard and I make 6.50$ an hour for sittin on my ass at a pool for 5 hours a day. Best summer job a teen can find. Also I had a little b-day money prior to working so I've probably made around $1100. Still not too bad, eh?

OzCatter
Yeah, I'm gonna get a warehouse job for someone or a job at Best Buy to help fund the trip. Â And I see myself much more mature than I ever was about a year ago, and who knows how much 1 year from now, I'll be near
thecoasterkid
Turns out that my parents car I had been using finally kicked the bucket today...so now I've got to buy my own car (Chevy Cobalt SS!) asap. Â This will most likely force me to bail on Japan, but I'm still REALLY hoping I can do the midwest trip. Â Also, I was wondering. Once the flyers are announced, is there going to be a grace period between when they are released to when you will start accepting deposits, or is it going to be an immediate sort of thing. Just thinking that alot of us might not get to read the flyer and send our deposit RIGHT away, as I'm sure that midwest trip will fill up on day one. TexTitan01
Thats a good idea having a grace period. I was worried that it was gonna be a "DEPOSIT! DEPOSIT! DEPOSIT!! NOW! NOW! NOW!!!" sort of deal, in which case I'm sure alot of people who want to go would miss out.
OldJJman
Please bear in mind that there has been quite a bit of interest in these trips, as has been shown by the number of responses in this thread. Trust me, there is additional interest that is being shown by people that never post either. Â R & E will have a list of everyone that has shown interest, and will get the email announcement to all those that have expressed interest. Â Once the announcements have been made, AND the opening date for the deposits have been posted, it would then become a "first come, first serve" as the deposits are received, as it was done for the UK trip. Â Bear also in mind that priority is being given to those who have already been on the UK trip. Â Once the # of seats are filled (I believe it is 50) then you are placed on a "Waiting list" to fill spots as people from those 50 drop out. Â But, your deposit must be received, to either be one of the 50 or to get on that waiting list. Â Â If I am wrong, I sure that Elissa would edit this message accordingly, or just post a "what he said" type of response. Â Please, just be patient! DARKSTAR0950
I`m begining to wonder if i`ll have enough to go on the trip. I plan to only go on one, but after i payed me and my friends way into Cedar Point and payed for food and all that......that leaves me with..................................................................ummmmmmmm......................$5. Â Â Um... I think I`ll just see yall on the 2008 trip.? Â Â My dad said he wanted the house repainted!

Dailey Enterprizes
I'd love to do the Spain and Midwestern U.S. trips with you guys. I've yet to meet any of you in person (maybe that's a good thing ), but I think now (next year) is a good time to do it. I'll be out of college in April, so I can probably get back to work and start making money again for these trips. I'm so pumped now, I really want to go. coasters 4 me
I would love to go on these trips with you guys. I have plenty money saved up from since I was like 2 year old. But my mum and dad arent really into coasters as I am, and I am not sure that they would want to pay that sort of money just to do theme parks. So, mabey 2008 would be better. Â BTW, is 16 the minimun age to go on one of these trips by yourself? I think I remember seeing that on the flyer for last years one.
dragoncoaster1292
You guys should TOTALLY do an East Coast Coaster trip either next year or the year after. It would be totally awesome to be randomly walking around Adventureland one day and see fifty people, led by Robb and Elissa, all waiting patiently for their credit on the Hurricane (Elissa can steal me for the kiddie coaster credit any time! ). It's just a suggestion, but wouldn't that be great?
pagemaster_b
Yeah, there will be a grace period. Â Â That's good news. Internet here in Afghanistan is inconsistent at best and the postal service is just as bad. I have no problems paying for one of the trips, but getting my money in to reserve a spot might be a little tricky. Can I do a pre-emptive strike and send a check now so I can claim a spot on the trip to Japan?

An application process doesnt sound like too bad of an idea either...  But you have to remember that there is a great amount of liability that goes with this. Robb and Elissa are essentially signing their lives over to the peole that would be going on trips that are less than 18 years of age. If something were to happen to them, it would be their responsibility, whether it was parentally approved or not.
larrygator
and when they have one underage member climbing on top of buses in a parking lot it puts a lot of stress on R&E and makes them reluctant towards other underage members
TexTitan01
well see, I'm not one of those people that will climb ontop of buses or jump across tracks or steal food or whatever. I know that if I'm approved for this trip it will be by the grace of God because I know the stereotype people have against teens my age; and I'm pretty sure I dont fall under that. Â hey! I love rodents now! COOL
