I was just curious on average how much did you guys end up spending on the trip.

I think the basics were what about $1500 (US). How much extras did you have to spend on all the other stuff, like food, etc.

I'm not counting t-shirts and all the stuff you probably bought.

Just curious in case Robb and Elissa decide to do another one, so I'll know how much to start saving. lol

I think I esimated about $3500 Canadian total that I spent.

$2100 was roughly the cost of the trip(add in included). Quite a few meals and such were included.

Though how much to forcast for future trips depends on the specific case.

If you go on a future UK trip, don't worry about needing $$$ for T-shirts! I found ONE at Blackpool, and it's pretty plain. The other two I managed to find were in Tusenfryd and Liseberg, so Scandinavia does a much better job promoting their parks via clothing. However, if you'd like a ride photo, you can buy one for just about everything in the UK - maybe even the "Superloo" at Drayton! You can also talk to Ryan about random blow-up items that he found.

Yeah so am I!.. I was so "::(" to see crap like at Alton Towers where the Air shirt just had an "A" on it.. that didnt say Air.. or the parks name on it.. Just a letter "A" WTF is that!?!

I planned for $50 a day which is about what I needed in Sweden and Norway.

However, in the UK I got off pretty easy because I only spent about $420 over 10 days there before hitting duty free shopping. Of that $420, about $50 went to random gambling and about $120 went to beer. So I got away with only about $25 a day for food/drinks/upcharges. It was that economical because Robb & Elissa supplied one meal a day and I loaded up at that one meal. Although, I did not stuff extra muffins in my pocket as take out.

I planned for $50 each day, but I ended up spending about $20-$30 a day. Typcial food expeditures were $20 for 2 meals, since at least 1 meal was always included.

I did put funny money away for souvenirs, but quite frankly, UK park souvenirs were pretty crappy. I found a Stealth t-shirt for $12 US, but it was still pretty blah.

Random info for our future trips....

The Spain parks we visited actually had a decent amount of "stuff", I even bought a Tarantula shirt at Parque de Attractiones.

Japan parks, though, have even LESS than the UK parks if you can believe it!

*Waits paitently for the info on the Midwest Trip*

Figured out the moolah yet? I figure that the US trip would be a little cheaper, yet food and souviners would cost about the same.

I agree with Robb...the Spanish parks I went to had some awesome merchadise, and most had merchandise for every coaster they had, plus a bunch of flats. I could have easily torn my budget to shreds in the park gift shops! Their souvenirs seemed to be of a much better quality than in US parks, and they had tons of useful stuff like messenger bags, little toiletries bags, picture frames and such. And it was all very reasonably priced. You've been warned!

Well then! More money for Hello Kitty Vibrators, hmmm???

But I'm sure that the Tokyo Disney Parks, between them both, would do an admiral job in getting those 'extra dollars' from betwixt our wallet's.... folds.

(betwixt? - eh...)

I guess I spent a good near-3 thousand $ on the tour and flight. I also started saving up British money per month, thru my bank, for spending money. Souvenirs, other meals... that 'Hot Ice' CD I just HAD TO HAVE, wink-wink to those who were there...

Funny thing tho - altho I did also use a cred card - I did manage to come home with extra UK cash (and Swedish/Norwegian bucks {?} too) and cashed it back into good old Canuck Bucks.

Bright Blessings on The Alveys.

You would THINK so....but we don't own a SINGLE "Tokyo Disneyland/DisneySea" shirt because there wasn't any to buy. They have TONS of merchandise, and we bought most of our Japan souveniers at the park, but mainly because Chip N Dale are like the #3 and #4 characters behind Mickey & Minnie. If that wasn't the case, I doubt we would have puchased much of anything.

The Japanese culture is VERY different. They buy a lot of "gift boxes" to bring home to family and friends, but park specific merchandise, even for Disney is very limited.

I'll be bringing an extra suitcase for more Chip and Dale stuff!

Yeah, most of the stuff in Japan seems like 'knick knack' stuff!

^ Actually, now that you both put it that way (knick knacks?), I do remember that my one past visit to Japan in (gasp) 1972 produced a lot of great little....gifties. Which was very nice, from the the people I was receiving them. But I never really found Big Stuff to buy, unless you had a few thou for a custom-made kimono, heh heh.

Still, I did find a lack of larger 'stuff' to find, even back then.

I have GOT to find what I still have collected on that trip! I know I have some old theme park maps and/or information flyers on parks....somewhere. And I did get to Fuji Q, after touring close (with my local host family) to the top of the massive beautiful mount itself.

Guess I should start looking now, huh?

You can get Tarantula shirts?!? That's a reason to sign up for the Spain trip right there!

I'm not much of a "merchandise" person. It's been years since I bought a shirt at a park. Now shirts featuring obscure metal bands? That's a different story...

I spent about $1,840 for my direct flight and the cost of the tour.

About $160 for food on the TPR part of the trip. $50 on sovineers from the parks: 1 shirt, 5 pins, 3 buttons, and 3 magnets.

I spent 3 extra days exploring London. I spent about $300 on 3 hotel nights, about another $400 on London expenses: attractions, sites, my 3 day travel card, tours, food and a stage show/play.

So for 2 weeks in the UK I spent around $3000.00

The trip was worth every penny! The TPR trip was amazing! We had breakfast I think every day and lunch at a bunch of the parks and a few dinners included. And don't forget the amazing perks!

Well worth the money!
