P. 2239: Superman: Escape from Krypton permanently closed

I personally liked that hot dog stand. Never really a long line, and they served decent dogs. Of course, the vast majority of the time I eat at Mooseburger Lodge. The food is only a dollar or two more expensive than anywhere else, you get a comfortable setting, and free refills

Instead of building more Johnny Rockets, I wish they would improve the operations of the current full service location. They made our food quicker at the Johnny Rockets on the cruise ship!

Don't get me wrong, I understand making it fresh makes it take a little bit longer...but for what people assume is going to be quick serve (as opposed to the one at KBF where it is the full sit down experience), it's not very quick. There's got to be a better way!

Speaking of the full service Johnny Rockets...I hope this new one is another full service one!

I was skeptical of another JR myself, but as has been said, if it works, why not? It's not like the park has much to offer in terms of food on its own anyway. I doubt it will be full-service, though.

As for the Coldstone, I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the one replacing Plaza Ice Cream will be a full service store (the space is big enough) while the Limited remains open in the back. The Limited is the only reason that corner of the park is still open at the moment because it does so well.

"If you know what coaster this is and where it currently is operating, email Dan the answer!"

It was the Mountain Express, and it's currently operating somewhere in Mexico. And I don't need to e-mail Dan because...well, I don't.

I rode that many times and sometimes still think something like that would make a nice little ride at the park because they're a lot of fun. It'll never happen, of course.

Nice to see Terminator go vertical. I actually gave some thought to heading out to SFMM today, but had some things to do here at home. Maybe next weekend when there's more to see!

It's not operating anymore. RCDB says it closed in 2006.

Agreed on both points. I think I only rode that once and I was so young that I don't remember it. I think it was the season that Roaring Rapids opened... not sure though as I must have been in pre-school then. I do remember enjoying Mountain Express & I know my Dad got a kick out of it. He was disappointed when it was removed.

^Two is more than enough. If anything, all they "need" to do is renovate Laughing Dragon to actually feel more like a full service restaurant.

Full service restaurants are not all that common outside of major "vacation" parks like the Orlando parks, DLR, Sea World's, etc. Parks that cater largely to locals don't need anything more than 1 or 2 of them (if that) because the locals already have their own full service restaurants they go to. They figure "oh...we can just have dinner at (insert restaurant here) on the way back." But if you were staying at WDW, you will be much more inclined to eat at a full service restaurant because you are on property for a week , want variety, don't have anywhere to go for full service, etc. So there's a much higher demand.[/img]

Anyone remember the menu they had at Laughing Dragon? Was is strictly pizza or did they have other items?

I remember attempting to eat there once in November 2000, but the wait was too long.

At one time it was a Steak House.

It's an O.K. location for views of Log Jammer and now Tatsu. I wish they would theme it out a little. A steak restaurant might be all right. I would look at Disney restaurants for inspiration.

Pizza? I think making it a Pizza place is a waste.

Or for something different: How about making it a Hooters?

Yea, I remember when it was Four Winds, but I was just wondering what kind of selection did they have when they switched to pizza. Was it just strickly pizza and salads or did they have other italian stuff?

I'm sure the corporate partners are working out for them really well. Look at Food Etc. the sushi and Ben & Jerry's are both "vendor" concessions.

I still say that it would be ideal as a teppan grill style (like Benihana) restaurant. Not only would it fit the theme of that area, but it would be quite popular.

Eric

I think that might be a little to upscale for SFMM, but agree that it would be a good fit. Whatever they put there, I think it is time for something, since if I remember right, the building is quite an eyesore.

I also think they need to renovate those bathrooms that are in the old cable car building (I believe). That building almost looks like it is rotting. After seeing the changes that have taken place over the last couple of years, I have faith that they will get around to this area of the park. I am sure it is just a matter of time and money.

Has there been a discussion on best pizza at a park. I never go to CP without getting a slice of that pizza back by Maverick. KI has La Rosas which is great as well. SFMM didnt have the best pizza when I was t here but it has been a few years. Have they added anything new?

I would love to hear from many of you on who has the best pizza.
