What's wrong with the Full Throttle word censor? I think that trying to get around it looks a lot more ridiculous than the word censor ever was.

How busy will Fright Fest be on opening day sept 27??????? What time do crowds "die" down???

Regarding Scream!- I see it closing in the next couple months so they can create back alley and TC. Durning this time i bet they will give Scream! a fresh coat of paint, and color the plaza like they did with Fu1l THr0tt1E. Set out to be an amazing year for SFMM!

during Fright Fest crowds don't generally die down later, it gets busier when it gets dark. If you want to go during Fright Fest when it's not as busy, go when the park opens.

Normally, I wouldn't expect Magic Mountain to be the type of park that invests in ride repairs, but then again, you do have the factor that they like to say they add new attractions nearly every year. I could actually see them adding the floorless trains to Riddler's, painting it different colors, and marketing it as a new attraction.

One key difference between Cedar Point and SFMM: Cedar Point didn't have a floorless so it actually works from a marketing standpoint. It makes absolutely no sense to convert RRv to a floorless...

It also didn't make sense to take the #1 rated coaster in the world, add wrap around head rests with speakers, and a bizarro theme, but they did it!

Magic mountain should remove both rides just to shut you guys up

They'd be replaced with two brand new kiddie coasters to keep the title.

Did they already have another top rated ride with audio and a bizarro theme when they did that?

If the park didn't already have Scream, it would make sense to "plus" RRv with floorless trains. But since they already have a floorless coasters...

Isn't Riddler still relatively popular? When we rode it last year it had a pretty significant wait (though now that I think of it they may have been running one train).

It still is very popular. Heck, I've seen two hour waits during off-season weekends. I see no reason for converting it to floorless when it's already one of the best coasters at Magic Mountain (which doesn't say much, right ).

I still don't really understand the concept of "Back Alley."

This one's easy. When they don't clean & maintain the look of the area and it ends up looking abused and trashy, they can just claim that the trashy appearance is part of the area's theme.

Just one time I want a park to be honest and build "We're Not Motivated Enough to Properly Clean This Area" Land.

While I agree Riddler's Revenge still has decent popularity, it's excessive waits are mostly due to horrible operations.

^ Thats really mean

^Is it not true?

I would actually say that Mantis was no less popular than Riddler's. Mantis would usually run two trains without stacking and get 45 minute waits. I have seen Riddler get waits of over an hour, but it does balance out, considering that the dispatches at SFMM usually take twice as long. (About 3 min)

Mantis was definitely more popular in general to Riddler's. Yup, the long waits are definitely because of slow GP and crew at SFMM. I don't mind waiting in a long line, because it's running at capacity and a lot of people want to ride, but i hate waiting because of a lazy crew. if you only went to magic mountain, you probably wouldn't think much of it, then be shocked when you hit a park that runs the ride at full capacity.

i was pretty impressed with Kings Island this year. I hadn't been there since like '97 or something. the 40 second intervals they strive and hit on Banshee and Diamondback are pretty impressive. I know Riddler will never be able to pull that off, but many others at SFMM should be able to, but will never come close. i always wonder why they have those clocks on some rides when they just flash 60,60,60. LOL

well...

Twisted Colossus will be the focal point of the newly themed area, Back Alley, where guests can expect the unexpected through whimsical experiences in entertainment, food and retail.

Well, I wouldn't expect an area of a theme park to look like south-central L.A. on purpose, if that's what they're thinking. But in seriousness, I hope they blow our low expectations out of the water; nothing on Disney or Universal levels, but something above and beyond what Six Flags usually does.

^ I wouldn't count on that. I'm sure it will be an improvement though. That area looks terrible now. I'd settle for something like the Medusa Plaza up at SFDK.

This is debatable IMO considering CP's crowds are much more concentrated than MM's, when I was there in May all the coasters had lines including Mean Streak, Iron Dragon, Blue Streak etc; I do agree that Riddler has terrible operations, and I can't recall the last time I saw 3 trains used, maybe sometime in the early 00's

I'd have to agree with that, as long as there's some improvement it'll be better than nothing.

if they actually build any building, i'd be pretty impressed. well, besides a TC ride photo booth. I'm thinking it's just going to look the same with some new paint on everything. what a pessimist i am. LOL

Went to "Out On The Mountain" last night. Had an excellent evening & did the "go to the right first" guide & it definitely worked. Was at the park from 8 PM-12:30 AM. Hit 6 rides total (Full Throttle, Goliath, Green Lantern, Batman, Tatsu, & X2). Would have went on more, but we were hungry & wanted a beer, so that ate at some of the ride time. Overall, it was a fantastic evening & will definitely do "go to the right" in the future. Less crowded & almost all the rides were 15 minutes or less!

Ive always thought that might have been part of the reason they wanted to install Batman and Apocalypse, both are themed in such a way that neglect can seem to add to the theming.
