coasternut
has anyone else received a super duper short SFI new ride Survey? I just got one about Care Bears and Hot Wheels....and a survey about the survey...LOL Mine was about the Cookie Monster and Hot Wheels... My survey was the same as yours. Someotherguyuser
The survey focused a lot on clowns and Hot Wheels for me. I put in the survey that when I think of clowns, I think of scary man-eating creatures. Haha
Kyle Coleman
Clowns don't belong at sfmm or anywhere else for that matter.
_IntaMAN_
I was thinking since you guys mentioned clowns, and Colossus is rumored to get the next RMC revamp, maybe the whole "clowns" deal could fit into the area? Maybe with a new Colossus, we may see a newly themed and expanded "Colossus County Fair"? Wishful thinking of course, but I'm really wondering what SFMM has in store for next year, especially with the whole "family survey" showbiz getting sent out lately. necoastergp
^ I sure hope not in regards to the clown/fair stuff, that would be low even for SF.
Mechanic
I've gotten a few Six Flags surveys over the past week or so. I just keep beating the dead horse that they need to improve the park's infrastructure before adding anything else. Yeah... Like that'll happen. DBJ
My survey was focused on Iron Man and Hot Wheels. I always tell them that the park shouldn't think of family rides only in the context of carnival style flats that are meant for small children and exclude adults. So in every survey, I write in the comments that they need to not focus on carnival rides as the only family attractions available for the park. It really is bizarre / unfortunate, that they don't study Legoland, Disney, and Universal in how to add "family" attractions that actually do have mass appeal. Also, I always tell them to focus on bringing in new attractions to Hurricane Harbor. Imo, if they added some infrastructure to make it convenient for guests to park hop between the parks in a single day, it would make the park more unique compared to the LA/OC parks. Sir Clinksalot
^ They used to have an entrance connecting to two parks. Why they got rid of it is beyond me, especially now that the combo passes are so popular. Hopefully they'll bring it back this year. I also think it would be pretty awesome if they had Gold Pass early entry for SFHH.
gisco
I also think it would be pretty awesome if they had Gold Pass early entry for SFHH. That would be awesome. Get on a lot of slides then hop on over to the park. They probably don't do it because people don't like to show up early for a water park like they do for the park itself. I also think it would be pretty awesome if they had Gold Pass early entry for SFHH. I worked in the entrance area during the time they had this gate and I can tell you, it was RARELY used. Probably around 1 to 5 tickets sold in a day. But again, like you said, HH wasn't free back then with the MM pass. I believe back then, the combo pass was around $150. TyRush
Man alive did the park already ship the trains away? They must have had them on site for .000001 sec until they were sent to SFDK for spare back ups to the 1 train there! No updates

disney4me2001
Got my survey last night. I was asked about Cookie Monster and Hot Wheels. One of the questions asked how I'd feel about a "Cookie Monster extreme coaster." Needless to say, I said I'd make a special trip for it! But then they asked the same question about Hot Wheels. If they really are going to attempt licensed rides again (that aren't DC or Looney Tunes), I think a Hot Wheels themed coaster would actually be pretty awesome! Actually, that might have been a cool idea for YOLOcoaster...
Jew
I'm sure these surveys are "throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks" type of surveys where they are just looking into the possibilities of some new licenses.
mmkaycomputer
A report on two visits: Sunday, May 5 --Only went because of the X2 ERT promo and, as you've read, no bones. I didn't even get one of those X2 exit passes other TPR posters said they received. --Barely anyone was in the park during ERT time. I had an entire Batman car to myself. Maybe it was the clouds/dampness that scared everyone away, or they (rightfully) assumed SFMM wouldn't get X2 working on schedule. --Only went on a small handful of rides, but walked on Apocalypse even with only one car running. --Viper: Waited nearly a half-hour even with two cars running. Even the Tatsu line was quicker. --SFMM staff was uncharacteristically super-nice the entire day. --More adults than kids were riding that new Road Runner coaster thing. And re-riding, too. Tuesday, May 7 --SFMM staff went back to being indifferent, aloof and/or miserable. --Rides only operating one car: Apocalypse, Scream, X2, Superman, Batman (though both were running, they only loaded one), Colossus, Ninja. But maybe that's common for a pre-summer weekday. --Walked on everything except X2 (15 minutes around 2:45 p.m.; line had grown considerably by the time I got off), including Tatsu. "Wow, we have no line," the operator at the mic said, with five of us waiting (all for the front). Also: --Saved $15 each day by parking at the Santa Clarita Transit Center on McBean and Valencia and taking the $1 bus over to the park, where it dropped us off right at X2. I can't be the only non-Valencia resident who does this. Yes, I'm cheap. No, I won't spring for a parking pass. --Anyone else notice — and subsequently disappointed in — what looks like brakes midway down the Full Throttle top-hat drop? I know its stops short at the end, and maybe I've never noticed brakes on other coasters' drops, but this has me slightly less excited for FT. Just looks like we're going to be shortchanged on this ride. F'n spend the money and design it right, or don't do it at all. While I'm ranting: If they're also renovating/re-theming the surrounding area, how the eff will that all be ready by the end of the summer? Looks like they've still got a long way to go. I would not be surprised if FT's opening gets pushed back to fall.

coastercrazy216
Hey guys, I was just wondering, what is the best plan of attack at SFMM if I want to hit all of the coasters in one day? It has been about 5 or 7 years since I was at the park. Also, when does YOLO Coaster open? I am visiting the park somewhere between May 19th and May 23. It has been about 5 or 7 years since I was at the park. Also, when does YOLO Coaster open? I am visiting the park somewhere between May 19th and May 23. This is the best way I've found to ride all the coasters at SFMM: Go on Orient Express first, then ride Tatsu, Superman, & Ninja. Then, go down the hill and ride Riddler & Green Lantern first. Then, you could ride Batman & Apocalypse, though these two rides typically don't have very long lines. After that, you can head over to Colossus, Scream, & Goliath. X2 typically has shorter lines at 3:00pm, so do not rush to X2 in the morning even if it sounds like a good idea. Also, don't forget to ride Lex Luthor & Sky Tower. Full Throttle will not be open at the time you are visiting the park. Also, bring your Discover card for 5% discounts and for early entry to the park (5 minutes before the park opens). singemfrc
Sounds good, I am planning to get a Platinum FlashPass. Where in that plan should I ride Drop of Doom? I recommend riding during the day..the height effect (for me at least) was somewhat diminished at night. The line for it is never that bad, usually 30-45 min at worst. I'll be there on the 20th, maybe I'll run into you. Also note that the Flash Pass doesn't automatically work on X2, you have to purchase flash pass rides for X2 for $15 extra per rider per ride. On the days that you're going, it's not worth it...the lines won't be that bad.
