It seems like it would be in kind of an odd place for Newhall to put anything anyway, right next to a massive roller coaster where screams of pain run rampant...

That cleared out area is obviously for the El Toro clone coming in 08'

i do hope SFMM would launch an intamin woodie to get lots of people's

attention so SFMM can be stayed on TOP 5 THEME PARKS.

I was listening to the conference call. They were talking about adding a cold stone and a big chain Burger joint. They also said something about a train going around the park with 3 stops.

^ Oh wow, you're right!

I am utterly dumbfounded!

Please nobody bash that! I want to enjoy it for 1 day! Just one day! That's all I ask!

Tomorrow we can bash it! But for today...lets just enjoy it!

To what I've heard around the park, don't expect Psyclone to be open anytime soon. Sounds like its about to go through a huge refurbishment. No idea if that is anyway related to the land being cleared behind it.

Like I said... they're making it longer...

(sorry, I thought it was funny)

Making room to add the loop that SFMM got from PKI (SOB).

It would be great if there was a station in the Sierra Territory area. You know, kind of near Flashback and the Log Flume. Then if it continued around and had a station near the colossus county fair area, and one final station halfway up Samurai Summit.

That would be a great route for a transportation ride!!!

Hey guys, I have some good news and some bad news about this new ride.

Turns out it is going to be a train! Like what they have at Disneyland. However, its just going to run on the old Metro track. So, no new routes or anything.

Rumors say its going to be called the B.S Express.

They totally named this ride after me. B.S. Express is just another way to say Brent Shenton Express. Actually, I think this is a VERY good desicion on SFMM's part. I never had a chance to ride the Metro, but I heard the route was pretty nice. Let's hope they just do it right.

Okay, so this is REALLY crappy compared to Jahan's updates but...here's just a little run down on what's going on.

- X is scheduled to reopen next weekend.

- The Grand Carousel is in pieces and has entered a period of refurbishment.

- Six Flags issued a paper stating that they're going to start cracking down on employees on their cell phones. (Now its a matter of if they come through and take advantage of this)

- Not sure if this is new or not, but I noticed that rides that are going to open late now have actual signs out front stating that they're going to open at 11 AM. Anyway, nice to see some actual signs.

- Roaring Rapids looks like its going to be down for a while starting soon.

Earlier today, I looked at SFMM's operating hours, and noticed that during midweek operation, the park won't open till 10:30am instead of its usual 10am.

Now that you've mentioned some rides having an 11am opening time, it appears to be one way of cutting back on costs on SFMM's part, that is, rides operating as much as an hour less on certain days.

^Wow Eric, nice find!

Yeah, looks like EVERY SINGLE WEEKDAY in 2007 the park will open at 10:30am. This seems pretty major considering the park has always had the same 10am opening time for like the last 8 years!!!!

Posted

^ Actually, they've opened at 10am since 1971, with the exception of special events. And for a few years in the early-to-mid '70s, they had 9am opening times with midnight closing times.

Who did they issue this paper to, where did they issue it, and when?

It appeared in our ride box today. I assume it was delivered to all the other rides along with other departments.

Hooray for X reopening! The only problem, and it can't be avoided is that it'll take away from Tatsu's line, making it's line LONG. I'm not one for long waits. That's why even if you get there before opening, if you want almost no wait, you have to get there an hour before opening and sprint to X. Oh well! I'm just glad I'll finally be able to ride it. Hopefully SFMM will pull through and open it on time! Now that they sold all of those parks, they'll hopefully be doing less budget cuts. Thanks for the info Mike!

This is great Mike! I'm glad to see that someone is actually taking care of an employee who's using their cell phone. Woohoo for X opening next weekend! Now, to find a ride there next Saturday.

I want to point out that becuase he said "in our ride box" the memo probably only went out to the operations department. ODV presumably didn't get the memo.
