Hercules Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Wow. It is a Superman clone. How crappy is that? Hopefully they don't put it in the middle of a field.
Jack57 Posted July 11, 2006 Author Posted July 11, 2006 I Hope Robb Goes And Bring Back Pics And Videos. It's A Brand New Park. Opened 3 Days Ago
kennywood!007 Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 I wish it was a unique one. I don't really like "clones" But the park sounds like an awesome one! And, I am sure Robb and Elissa will get out there some day.
Jack57 Posted July 11, 2006 Author Posted July 11, 2006 Me Too. They Should Have Another Asia Tour And Go There. But They Have 2 Vekomas! . Check The Coasters Here: http://rcdb.com/pd1161.htm.
Ed Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 Yeh.... Obviously you know nothing of the park that it's in. It is incredibly themed. Really it's like IOA or something. The flyer is themed to Atlantis. http://bj.happyvalley.com.cn/images/news/2006123141916540.jpg Flyer is at the topleft. This is an old construction view. http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fbj.happyvalley.com.cn%2Fpark%2Fequip%2Fatlantis%2Fsjsy.asp&langpair=zh-CN%7Cen&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools

Canobie Fan Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 is that a 'Kumali' i see at my right? Lol Yes It Is. Sad Isnt It? But Kumali Itself Was A Clone.
coasterguy618 Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 When I saw this thread I was thinking of a custom flyer, but...Oh no. Not another just Okay Superman clone.
coasterguy618 Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 ^The world is full of clones, get used to it. I am used to it and I know the world is full of clones, just Im getting tired of them like everyvody else. (Well, except for the clones I havent been on)
stormrider Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 ^The world is full of clones, get used to it. Yikes, I knew there was something wrong with the mailman when he didn't recognize me, he must be a clone Seriously though, to them, I bet if it works, they'd rather get a tried and true layout. That's why you don't seem OCT getting those weird Chinese sameco or http://www.china-sbl.com rides. I wonder if one day those companies could evolve to be bigger players in the coaster world. Not to say they aren't capable of choosing a custom ride, they're at least theming it.
Guest Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Not another just Okay Superman clone. Says the person with a Superman logo in their avatar...
Imhotep Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 "oh mah gard its a crone of the superman fryer in america!" I dont think you would here that once from the guests, its new to them.. Especially since there arent any other superman clones in asia, heck there arent even any superman clones in all of europe.
stormrider Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Hey, here's a picture of it: Got from chinabroadcast. Looks like a less fruity version of Superman.
sickskillz14 Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Looks like a nicely themed S:TE clone. I just wish that parks would stop being so lazy and decide to come up with their own designs instead of just chosing copies of B&M's. I want to see more original B&M's and see how good B&M can produce.

Oh and the first half of chang and Mantis. Thats it really. Raptor was only cloned once. Oh yeah, and Six Flags is the only one really that does the cloning of B&M. I forgot Scream at SFMM.

Well, you can't really say the first half of Chang and Mantis because they did it more as a set patern. Where it is technically "cloned" its just a generic B&M way to start off the ride imo. Sort of like Kraken and Medusa. Just thought it worked well so they stuck to the same design. Anywho, I was really hoping for this to be a custom design just because we still haven't seen the full capability of flyer built on a flat peace of land. Air is the only other custom flyer, and sort of fits the catagory, but it wasn't design to push any limits. Ohwell, maybe next time.
DATman Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 well, original layouts mean more money that is spent on a ride. For a park that is just starting, money is a big issue. Besides. it looks way better than any of the supermans, so don't complain.

Its not laziness, its saving money on a ride that wouldnt draw any more people (very few atleast) if it was a custom design. Actually S:UF @ SFOG is also a custom flyer, since it was the first of its kind. The same can be said about B:TR @ SFGAM.
Stitch Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Why would anyone in America care if China got an American ride clone? I know Chinese riders don't care, it's new for them
dr.gumbo Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 The ride does look a lot better than the original superman rides, but does it matter if its a clone-to me it shows its a great ride
