Best Looking Park From A Distance
steel replied to RollerC's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Cedar Point looks really cool. I love how you you have to drive through the beautiful town of Sandusky to get there and you can't see it for the first few minutes (not even TTD). Dorney Park is another one that looks really cool. It looks like the entire park is sliding down a mountain. I also like how WoF sort of explodes out of the horizon. Even from a few miles away you can tell that Patriot is a very bright red. And when you get closer, you see all that wonderful landscaping between Mamba's turnaround and the road. -
OH MY GOD ROBB TOTALLY STOLE MY BIRTHDAY! I thought I reserved January 9th! Happy Birthday Robb. We're both better than everyone else.

I had a sort of disturbing coaster dream last night. We (my dad and I) had just left Worlds of Fun and were starting the drive home, when I noticed a train stuck on Mamba's second hill. Not stalled at the top or anything, but stuck halfway up. A closer look revealed that the front two cars had derailed and the front was severely damaged. Something must have lodged in the track to keep it from continuing or rolling back. We pulled over and ran to the scene. It appeared that the accident was so recent that noone had yet arrived. As ambulances rushed in, I noticed several people in the train who were obviously not breathing and most likely dead. Then I woke up. It wasn't exactly pleasant. As I type this, I have a flashback to the infamous FD3 Flipdude comic in which Robb yells "MORGAN ALERT!" across the midway. A couple weeks ago I had a similar derailment dream, though this one was at a fictional park. We stood watching a Timberland Twister clone run through its course. A group of two teenage girls crested the lift hill and screamed with apparent joy down the first drop. But as they neared the top of the incline immediately following the first drop, the car derailed and landed upsidedown next to a path, crushing both girls. Needless, to say, I think too much.

Yeah, that path is like some weird visual drug. It's making my dog hallucinate. But it looks good so far. -
This really, really, really, really depends on what type of Christian you are. Of course, I would push you toward Lutheranism simply because I enjoy and beleive it. It really is not difficult to get into heaven as a Lutheran. All that is asked is that you are baptized and that you believe in God. None of the confessional stuff you'll get into as a Catholic.

You are completely wrong. Neither coaster comes close to taking up OE's lot. If you are so sure about this, then why is OE's old station still there and why is it something like 30 yards away from any part of Spinning Dragons? Patriot is at the very least 75 yards away from it. I realize there was a helix there, but it didn't get as far as Spinning Dragons. OE was a fully fledged terrein coaster, or at least that is my understanding of it. I never saw it running from the park, but it was basically located in a "bowl" of land. It certainly wasn't as "terrainy" as Loch Ness Monster, but it's a large elevation difference between the level of the parking lot and the bottom of tht area. Also, the layout is basically Vortex without the corkscrews. There's a tunnel that curves to the lift. After that, you turn toward the straight drop, which leads to the turn that you see in the pictures on page 1. That leads into the first loop, which goes into a turn to a brake run alongside the lift. The track then turns and drops into the second loop and moves into the "kamikaze curve" element. Then there's a helix and you're done. -
Frohe Weihnacht from Des Moines! "In those days a decree went out from Emporer Augustus that all the world should be registered. This was the first registration and was taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria. All went to their own towns to be registered. Joseph also went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, because he was descended from the house and family of David. He went to be registered with Mary, with whom he was engaged and who was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn." -Luke 2:1-7

Wearing glasses on a coaster
steel replied to jbuck's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I usually don't wear my glasses on roller coasters. I guess I'm a little paranoid about losing them (especially after wearing them on Mamba and having them *almost* come off on the second hill), but that's not the real reason. When I wear glasses on a coaster, it feels like I'm toning down one of the best parts of the ride - the sensation of speed and the wind in your face. I don't know why I'm like that, but to me, it feels like I'm behind a window when I wear my glasses. on a coaster. -

It gets better - soon you'll be working with parabolas and quadratic equations. And that's just the beginning... That stuffs easy. Its PROOFS THAT SUCK. The only part of math I ever hated...proofs. How lame. Just have some nice equations or things to figure out - not proofs. Sure it's easy now, but it wouldn't have been during first semester of Algebra I. But you have a point. Proofs are the epitomy of evil.

PE of course, but this year I would have to say that my absolute least favorite class (possibly the worst class I've ever taken) is Active Physics. None of it makes any sense to anyone and my teacher makes absolutely no effort to explain it to us in a way we can understand. Thank God I'm taking Accelerated Chemistry next semester.

Pity. That was the last question. The one thing that really got me was that all squares are rectangles, so I clicked on a square when it asked me to click on a rectangle.
