  1. Oh, please, Robb, don't you know? They want to make your experience as real as possible! That, or they just HATE YOU PERSONALLY. Yeah. That's probably it. //just as annoyed as Robb
  2. Man, I was nearly yelling at my screen multiple times while reading this board. There is so much I could say right now that would completely invalidify half of your arguments that this is a bad idea. But I won't, because it would be pointless and I don't have time. However, I will say this: Those of you who think that Harry Potter is for kids have obviously never read any of the books. Last year, I woke up in a cold sweat after a bad nightmare about inferi. I still have trouble thinking about dementors too much. These were family books when they started, but they've gotten much, much, much darker. These books deal with big teen issues, absolute terror, and death. And quit your complaining about Deuling Dragons. Dragons pop up EVERYWHERE in Harry Potter. There's no reason to retheme it. I'm sure it will turn out fine.
  3. Really? That's strange. To this day, the restraints on S:UF at SFGAm are the most comfortable I've ever experienced. X-Flight's restraints put a lot of pressure on my shoulder/collar bone area, and I could never figure out how to keep all my blood from rushing to my fingertips.
  4. I actually didn't realize there was even trick track on this ride either. I was too busy desperately trying to brace my neck to notice anything else.
  5. ^Lupin won't die, he's Harry's father, IMO. James and Remus used a switching spell before "James" was killed becaus they knew they were being hunted. Remus was a good enough friend to sacrifice himself for James. At least that's what I think will happen... And there's a whole list of reasons why Ron will die somewhere.
  6. I have a new search engine.
  7. http://www.mugglenet.com/app/news/archive/2006/12 This was released waaay back in December. You need to scroll about a quarter of the way down. And Harry isn't going to die. JKR probably just said that when she was frustrated from writers block or something. I'm betting on Ron and Neville as the two main deaths.
  8. I've always thought it would really cool if you could fix a camera onto glasses or something and record your entire day, like a full VTR with completely safe and stress-free POVs, but that won't happen. I guess this is the next best thing.
  9. I vited Steel Force as well. I've ridden all three CF models (Wild Thing, Mamba, Steel Force) and Steel Force was definately the best out of the three. Much of it is a lot like Mamba, but there's more ejector air on the trip back. Also, when I rode it, the trims were barely on. And you just can't beat that incredible terrain.
  10. Exactly. I don't even like the concept of the Robocoaster. It doesn't feel right to me.
  11. ^You have a huge point. That drives me insane. Same with "gay." But anyway, here's my promised "Grease" rant. This movie sucks and here's why. -OMG! NONE OF THE ACTORS ARE UNDER 25 YEARS OLD! As far as I know, most high school students are, in fact, UNDER 25 YEARS OLD! -Crappy new songs. The Fearsome Three: "Sandy," "Hopelessly Devoted," and "You're the One That I Want." All of these replaced way better songs that were in the play. -No one credits the original cast. Who gives a crap about Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta? No one seems to care that Carole Demas played Sandy first and that Barry Bostwick brough Danny to life. -No one credits the stage version. This is a big one. I was recently in a stage production of "Grease" at my school. I wouldn't be surprised if a good chunk of the American population does not know that "Grease" was a play before it was a movie. -BAD LIP SYNCHS. -Over half the songs were removed. -Alma Mater -Alma Mater Parody -Those Magic Changes -Freddy, My Love -Rydell High Fight Song -Mooning -Shakin' At the High School Hop -It's Raining on Prom Night -Alone at a Drive-In Movie -Rock 'N' Roll Party Queen -All Choked Up -We Go Together (Reprise) -Danny sings "Greased Lightnin'." That was Kenickie's big song. And that famous line "It could be automatic..."? That's right, it never existed. -Bad plotline all together. The play can be blamed for this as well. It's the story of a good, hardworking girl who has a future being turned into a complete slut. -Why on earth did they decide it was a good idea to have a racing scene? No such thing. -OMG, CHEESY! -THERE IS AN AMERICAN IDOL RIP-OFF BASED ON IT. Even worse, this revival will suck as far as acting goes and will most likely include the songs from the movie instead of those from the play. -Aside from Jim Jacobs, the judges on said American Idol rip-off are idiots. On the latest episode, they basically told the best performer and singer that she sucked because she didn't give Sandy an "edge." Last time I checked, Sandy has nothing close to an "edge" until the final scene. -THE CAR FLIES AWAY! I don't think I can imagine a worse ending to anything. -THEY ARE NOT CALLED T-BIRDS! Danny's little "gang" is only ever referred to as the "Burger Palace Boys" or the "Greasers" in the play. Frankly, I can't see why that name didn't work. Honestly, I could go on and on and on. I will never be able to figure out exactly what people see in this movie.
  12. Oh, I forgot a couple! One of my hugest annoyances is the obsession with "Grease." Not the play, of course, but the piece of crap they call a movie. Therefore, therefore of the worst songs in history are "You're the One That I Want," "Sandy," and "Hopelessly Devoted." Why these three" Because none of them are actually in the play. "You're the One That I Want" replaced the brilliant and excited "All Choked Up." "Sandy" replaced the much better "Alone at the Drive In." And "Hopelessly Devoted" half-replaced "Freddy My Love." I might post a rant about this.
  13. Oh god, where do I begin? I don't think I can actually list all of them. -Fergie-licious -any and all Britney Spears songs -Crazy -all songs from "High School Musical" other than "Status Quo" -Crazy -Crazy -and also Crazy ...and I could go on forever.
  14. "Pan's Labrynth" AWESOME movie. I could have gone without some of the violence, but it was a cinematographic (if that's a word) miracle. That chicken-snake-man thing was extremely nerve-racking and as realistic as you can get with fantasy. **** "Babel" Another amazing movie. It's really too bad that there are people who fail to see the connections between the characters and the heartbreak involved in all the stories. I actually heard a few students talking about how insane and perverted the Japanese deaf-mute girl was. Definately a qualifier for Best Picture (although I'd rather have Little Miss Sunshine win). *****
  15. Yeah, American candy is nice and everything, but we all know that German candy is the only real candy there is. I love that he sent you Listerine. That stuff burns. I haven't seen Toblerone for a while. Deliciousness. And Starbursts are incredible.
  16. I've been twice. The first was a family trip in '04 and the latest was a school trip last year. You'll love it. If you are indeed going with school, it's more than likely that you won't have freetime. Our schedule was packed to the limit. We basically saw about everything there is to see in DC in four days including a day at BGE. Do you know what company this trip is planned through? If it's World Strides it will probably be the way I described.
  17. Why on earth do you actually care this much? If you honestly believe that clothes define the type of person you are, you need medical help IMMEDIATELY. I agree that uniforms are to much, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with strict dress codes. Personally, I don't think I actually have any clothes that violate any kind of dress code at my school. Think to yourself... Does this really have any effect on the rest of my life?
  18. I'm still waiting for the Des Moines, IA store. I hate driving all the way to the Twin Cities or to Chicago for IKEA.
  19. I wish I had time to stop there and take a picture.
  20. I guess I will post a few pictures. GL from the beginning of the floating bridge. Valleyfair! from the entrance to the parking lot. Six Flags Great America from the beginning of the entrance to the parking lot. WoF from the entrance to the parking lot. Worlds of Fun from the parking lot. The other side of GL from the beginning of the floating bridge.
  21. Because we all know that ugly coasters are ALWAYS awful.
  22. Why wouldn't they? They had it again last year and it was only few weeks before PresCon.
  23. Oh, I forgot about GL! The view from the waterpark is incredible. I also like how you can't see the park at all until you're basically right next to Steel Venom.
  24. Today I found out that I have the flu and it isn't letting up. To make things worse, second semester starts Wednesday, four out of my seven classes are completely new, two out of the remaining three are at different times, and I don't know if I'll be better yet. AND I have the lead role in a one-act play that is performing Thursday and Friday. Ugh.
  25. Holy cats! That's deliciously sexy! This might actually be better than Lightning Racer!
