  1. http://www.rcdb.com/ig2567.htm?picture=1 Chicken Express! I think I have posted this one on this site before. It's just so cool! 8)
  2. It's like a Volare, only above the track! This sort of reminds me of those boards that doctors use to strap people down for surgery.
  3. The addition to Dollywood was good, but it was way too overcrowded. All those rides are packed too closely together in that one little section of the park. I hope Silver Dollar City's expansion will be more spread out.
  4. One of my relatives from back in the 1800's was named James Bond And my birthday is the same as Michael Jackson's! That must mean we are related to each other! If you pick out any 2 random people in the whole world, there will be a 1:366 (including leap year ) chance that they have the same birthday!
  5. For some reason, SFOG has a big problem with this. Every time I get on GA Cyclone or Ninja, I have to pick out the trash left by other people in the car. It was just ridiculous the last time I rode GA Cyclone. I picked up 3 water bottles, some park maps, lots of receipts, and park tickets out from under my feet before I rode. While I was stuck on the lift of Ninja, I noticed an unopened water bottle laying at my feet! I just kept my foot on it the whole time, since it would not be very fun to have it fly up and hit me in the face. The ride is already painful enough!
  6. My sister carried her purse on almost every ride at Cedar Point and King's Island. She almost lost it on Magnum Xl 200, Gemini, and Flight of Fear. The ride ops didn't seem to care very much about loose articles at any park I went to this year. People at SFOG were allowed to wear their glasses on rides. I always wear shorts with zipper pockets. I don't trust my wallet and phone in the open cubicles off to the side of the ride.
  7. I've been to Opryland tons of times, but that was all before I was 5 years old. Other than that: SFOG: 3 times Disney World: 2 Dollywood: 2 King's Island: 2 SFKK: 2 Cedar Point: 1
  8. I loved it the first time, too. Then the second time I hated it more than any ride I had ridden. The 3rd time I rode it, I was in the back seat, which really makes a huge difference in how rough the ride is. I guess the trailing wheels for the back car help to stabilize it a lot more. I did not have any headbanging in the back seat, and I actually rode it 2 times in a row with no problems. I now think it is a really cool ride, and it's one of my favorite Vekomas.
  9. Nashville Valley Amusement Park closed, but that was no big loss.
  10. Wow 9 woodies! I'm really gettingup there . It has really seemed like a lot more than that, I guess since I've been on each one like 5 times.
  11. With 3 of the Tennesse Parks closed (First Opryland, then Nashville Valley Amusement Park, and now Libertyland) the chance of getting that new Thrillopolis park in Nashville is getting even greater! But if the plans for Thrillopolis are scrapped, the only TN park left will be Dollywood, and it's 4 hours away .

  13. I only live about an hour and a half away from Beech Bend, but I've never really cared much about going there until seeing these pictures. Maybe I will be able to convince my mom to take me there on the way to Holiday World this summer. It doesn't look like that bad of a park, with a Power Surge, Pinfari Looper, Spinning Mouse, and now this really awesome looking woodie, though I personally think that the park owner should have spent his life savings on some nice landscaping to improve the park atmosphere. I'm guessing he thinks this new coaster will boost park attendance way up and then he can afford to make the place look nicer. Will you still have to pay for each ride individually like at a carnival? I think the park should just have one flat admission fee.
  14. That sounds really dangerous to black out for several seconds at a time! I have only had tunnel vision for a fraction of a second. My first experience with greying out was on Tennessee Tornado. It made me really nervous, but then later I greyed out at least five times on Batman the Ride, twice on Ninja @ SFOG, twice on Mindbender, and once on Face/ OFF. I have tried several techniques to avoid greying out, such as exercising a lot before going to an amusement park, eating healthy, and getting extra sleep. Those things seem to help a little, but I still have the unpleasant greyout experience through almost every vertical loop. I have gotten used to just closing my eyes going through every vertical loop so that I will not know whether or not I black out and I won't have to be bothered by it. I wish I knew how to stop it from happening. It used to never happen on any ride, or maybe it did and I just wasn't familiar with what I was experiencing. I think I just have worse circulation than I did 2 to 3 years ago . I have reluctantly avoided many rides, such as Vortex @ King's Island and Deja Vu' just because I was afraid of blacking out. I guess it's not really that dangerous. It's just like standing up too long and passing out. But still I can't help but think that if this happens repeatedly over very short amounts of time, it can be dangerous. This year I am planning to work out more and get in shape so that I can go back to SFOG and ride Goliath and Deja Vu', hopefully without any problems.
  15. I'm afraid to ride any 2nd gen. freefall ride becuase of the intense "losing your stomach" feeling; that's why I've never ridden one. I really should face that fear soon. I love the zipper, but it makes me sort of nervous to ride it, because it is scary to think about the g-forces that are pretty extreme when they are positive, but there is also a chance that I will be upside down on those parts and experience the most extreme negative-g's ever that make the blood rush to your head  !!! I was also afraid to ride coasters that launch right out of the station, such as wicked twister or Flight of Fear, but now I'm mostly over that fear.
  16. This is a really old topic , but anyway... I don't think all Vekomas are that bad. I loved Ninja @ SFOG, enough to ride it twice in a row. There are some rides, however, that I will try to avoid, not just Vekomas. I try to avoid rides like Son of Beast and any rough Arrow or Vekoma.
  17. Here is a list of ALL of them 8) http://bonanza.simtycoongamer.net/rct2/ridedirectory.htm
  18. Worst: Waiting for an hour and a half just inside the warehouse of doom for Batman: The Ride @ SFOG was the worst queue ever. Every time I wait in that queue, if I see the warehouse part open, I will not ride, because that means waiting for 2 hours in a crowded, disgusting room. When that part of the queue is closed off, I know to expect a 25-30 minute wait. Best: Space Mountain @ Disney World. It's just really cool, Especially since I didn't have to wait in it because of my fastpass.
  19. I get to ride the Rock-O-Plane every year during the Main Street Festival. When I go on a wristband night and there's not a big crowd, the carnies let me ride over and over without getting off! Last year, one of the carnies told me, "Watching you control the gondola on that ride was like an artform." I was like, "Ummmm, yeah. I, ummm, have to go now before this gets too carried away  ."
  20. 1. Zipper 2. Intamin 1st gen. freefall 3. Power Surge 4. KMG Afterburner 5. Rock-O-Plane 6. Huss Giant Top Spin
  21. I don't think I've ever seen a pic. of a rotoshake (just a Lego model ). It looks like a standup ride  . That would be awesome! It also looks like a great addition to the George Foreman Grill Ride collection.
  22. After going on Face/OFF at PKI, I now try to avoid all boomerangs. I loved the airtime on the first drop, but then when I blacked out four times (going in and out of the vertical loop both times), I swore never to ride another boomerang again. I have had three opportunities to ride Deja Vu' @ SFOG, but all 3 times I was too afraid of blacking out, and didn't ride. Maybe when I go in April I should just face my fear, even if it kills me.
  23. When I got stuck on Ninja @ SFOG nobody was terrified, but I was slightly irritated that I was staring up at the sun for 20 minutes and getting sunburned. I think it would be really cool to be stuck at the top of a tall ride like Sheikra, but not for a whole hour. I would be kind of mad if took time away from my day at the park that I could have spent riding other rides. Here is a pic that shows a closeup of the cool trolley system and the evac. steps on the other side of the lift. http://rcdb.com/ig2662.htm?picture=60
  24. Why would anyone build such an ugly ride with such low capacity? They should have designed it to hold 40-50 people around the outside edge of the bell. Also, it has that huge counterweight at the top. Wouldn't that slow the ride down and make it a lot more tame than a frisbee ride.
  25. Mine was Chang. It was my 7th coaster. My current coaster inversion count is 80! 8)
