Marineland Gets a Topple Tower
nannerdw replied to niiicolaaah's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I thought ToT @ Goldreef City was the World's Tallest Freefall Tower, PERIOD. Does the Sky Screamer drop all the way from the top to the bottom, or does it just bounce down? If it was true freefall, wouldn't it reach 90-100 mph? -

I think "Shapiro Visits ______" would be a good one. -
Avatar Contest #8 - VOTING TIME!

My vote definitely goes to Expedition Esophagus!!! -
LOL That would be a good addition to that sex-oriented theme park in Europe. Femto = 10 to the minus 15 That would be a really small coaster! I was thinking that it would be huge, since I thought it was to the positive 15th power.

I found it interesting that http://www.coaster-net.com/sl/rideglossary.php# has already given definitions for roller coasters that will be 500-700 ft. tall. "- Peta-Coaster- 500-599' / 152-183m at highest point of track, or featuring an equally-sized drop" "- Exa-Coaster- 600-699' / 183-213m at highest point of track, or featuring an equally-sized drop" Are these names confirmed as the official terms to be used for these future milestone coasters? What's Next? The Femto-Coaster?

I just found out that my Tangoburner idea is actually real! It's called the Moser Energy Rush. http://www.moserrides.com/ Check out the video for it. It's definately the most insane ride I have ever seen!!! I think that every person on the ride would have terrible whiplash by the end of it.

Cedar Fair's "Maverick"
nannerdw replied to MJHammer1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I hope it is a Moser Maverick, or maybe even the world's first Maverick Delta! That would be pretty awesome. http://www.moserrides.com/ -
The "Suspended looping wild mouse" idea reminds me of Arrow's old Arrow-Bat-ic plans. I'm not really sure how an inverted log flume would work, but I have made a drawing of my own concept for a vertical log flume. It could probably work the same way, except the track might get in the way of the waterfall.

The KMG "Tangoburner"! Imagine a KMG Afterburner, but with the freely-rotating seats of the Tango ride to replace the usual seats. It would basically be like Bling without a counterweight! That would cause lots of people to red out! I would call it "the -4 g experience!"

I wasn't really impressed with the Beast. It felt to me like each part was stretched out just to make the ride longer. The ride did not have much airtime. The helix at the end is the only good part of the ride IMO, and even it is a little too rough. I would really love to ride Deja Vu @ SFOG, but I have always chickened out, afraid that I might black out and die!

MFI 2006 - Cannon Bowl
nannerdw replied to ParkTrips's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I rode one of these in Grafton Illinois (the body slide version), and it was the first water slide I had ever ridden with a sign that said to put my hands behind my head instead of crossing them over my chest. There is a really good reason for that sign; that ride is incredibly fast! I was in the habit of crossing my arms and legs and and arching my back so that only my shoulder blades and one heel supported me, since that was what I had always done on most other slides. This caused me to go so much faster through the toilet bowl section that when I came back around the first time, I was still at the same level as the hole where I had entered the bowl! So, I went over the edge of the opening and smacked right against the wall, though not losing much speed. That's like falling off of a 3-ft drop-off! My unprotected head hit really hard against the slide, causing me to immediately have a bad headache. The slide was fun, but it ruined the rest of my day. I think I would be willing to ride it again, if I followed the safelty rules. -
I really want to get contacts too, because I get tired of taking my glasses off and stuffing them into my pockets along with my phone, wallet, and camera every time I get on a ride. Ninja @ SFOG broke both of my glasses cases (I'm glad they were hard cases and my glasses were not damaged). After 2 more rides on Ninja, one of the cases was so bent that my glasses would not fit in them anymore, so I just use it as a phone case, now

I am so excited that this awesome GCI is only an hour and a half away from where I live!!! I have already marked my calendar for May 6. That is the opening day, right? -

The most intense flat ride I have ridden was Freefall @ SFOG. It's the only 1st gen freefall ride I've been on. The drop made the blood rush to my head and give me a pounding headache. That's why I love it so much! LOL The second most intense was the KMG Afterburner. It was the only ride I have ever ridden where I really felt my ribs bending from the g-forces. That was really uncomfortable, and it was difficult for me to breathe for about an hour afterwards. The third most intense ride was Power Surge at the TN State Fair. The negative and lateral g's on that ride were so strong that they were sort of uncomfortable. A few times the seat spun so fast that I got whiplash. After I got off, the muscles in my hand were contracted from holding on so tight. Even though these rides are so intense, I still really love riding them. I think the intensity is really what makes a ride so great. If you don't get a little injured from a ride, it's not nearly as fun, IMO

I don't understand why they build the top half of the funnel. It seems like a big waste of materials, IMO. I guess they have it on there to make it look more impressive and make lots of stupid people think that it's a "water slide with a loop". I have heard way too many people ask, "Do you actually go upside down at the top of it?" And even after they watch people go through it, they are still convinced that they will go over the top!

I have been to both the north and south rims of the Grand Canyon, and I've been down part of the Bright Angel Trail, so this all looks really familiar to me. They really shouldn't tell people not to feed the squirrels, since some of the animals are probably so used to being fed human food by now that they would not know how to survive by getting their own food. As for the Sonic, that could be anywhere, so I'm not even going to guess.

At what angle would they consider it an inversion? 150 degrees?

Whats the most involving coaster area?
nannerdw replied to ChrisFL's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
GA Cyclone, SUF @ SFOG, and Face/OFF all have cool central areas that make you feel like you are "inside" the track structure.
