They are pretty cool Would this happen to have anything to do with that movie "Snakes on a plane"? Lizards on the forum! Yikes! Theme parks, roller coasters, and evil, rampant lizards!

The funniest one that I have seen was for Goliath @ SFOG. They used footage of SFMM's Goliath, thinking, "It has the same name and colors, so nobody will notice!" Lol, they could have at least used another B&M hyper, or even better, the computer rendered POV. I also have a brochure for SFOG that used Stealth's vertical loop to advertise for SUF! ANd that was last year, when it had already been open for 3 years!

This is from the Goliath Thread I don't understand why only some of the supports are black, while others are still white. I hope that this is just a pic of the supports partially finished.

Right now I have a 3.1 megapixel digital camera. It has a video feature, but the quality is really bad. I'm looking for a cheap (preferably <$200), small camcorder that takes good quality videos and high quality still shots, but I am willing to pay up to $250. I want it to have at least some sort of optical zoom feature. The best that I have been able to find was the Aiptek MPVR. It got good reviews, but a lot of them said that the quality was poor. I also really wish that it had a lens cover. I'm not planning on using it for POV's, but I would still like to have a camera that I could take on rides without feeling like it might break. The quality doesn't have to be amazing, but I want to use the camera for decent off-ride videos. What would be the best camera that includes all of these features?

My closest coaster is Kentucky Rumbler (only 1 1/2 hours away!) I'm surprised I have still never been to Beech Bend. I will have to go some time this year.

Only 2: Little Rock-N-Roller Coaster- Opryland The Beastie- PKI

I would be willing to bet all of my money that lots of GP patrons will remember this entrace as a real coaster and tell their friends about how fun it was to ride. They will probably say this: "Have you ridden that ride that's right at the entrance of the park? (referring to the entryway) You sit beneath the track and go over 200 feet in the air backwards through like 10 loops all inside a building! And part of it goes over the parking lot entrance!" I used to think Opryland's skycoaster was one of Hangman's loops (when I was about 5)

I can't ever talk with anyone about coasters, because I try to tell them how cool I think rides like Thunderhead are, and they always say something like, "That's lame, since it's only 100 ft. tall. Why don't you ride Kingda Ka, it's better because it's so much taller." It also seems like lots of people have very photographic memory, except when it comes to amusement parks. Everyone always seems to get the rides mixed together in their heads. I was talking with one person about Wet-n-Wild, Orlando, and he started telling me about this water slide where you lay down on your stomach on a mat while going down a vertical drop into a big toilet bowl, and then you go upside-down... etc... blah...blah...then you die...blah blah blah. I can never find myself in the position to argue. I just realize how stupid I would sound trying to correct people. It's the same with almost any hobby. When somebody comes up to me and starts talking about a football team's stats or car engines, I start to fall asleep. I don't really care whether or not I can name every car engine, I just want the car to run. Just like when I start listing off random coaster stats, people are like, "Um, yeah, whatever. "

1st gen. freefalls are absolutely amazing! I don't think they are rough at all, but they are really intense. Freefall @ SFOG provided some crazy -g's. What's really cool about these rides is that the airtime somehow seems to continue even during the transition from vertical to horizontal. It just feels strange to ge pushed back into the seat and pulled up into the OTSR at the same time. It is a truly unique experience.

I'm always keeping my hopes up for a theme park in Nashville to replace Opryland. That's what I really want to happen in 2007! It's probably very unlikely, though. Oh well, at least when I'm at college (in 2007!) I will probably be 18 minutes away from SFOG

I was at SFKK when I was 13, and it was the first time I had been to an amusement park for about 5 years. I had already ridden the wild mouse earlier in the day, and even though it was the largest coaster I had ridden at that point, it still didn't make me feel like I had accomplished much. Half of the day I spent watching my friends on Twisted Twins, deciding whether or not I should ride. Finally, they convinced me to ride with them. I actually ended up riding with some little girl I didn't know, and she talked all the way up the lift about how it was her first time on a coaster, too. That made the ride seem much less scary. I thought, if this little girl can handle it, I'm sure I can too. I was not even slightly nervous going down the first drop, and I was smiling and laughing throughout the rest of the ride. The first drop gave me that incredibly intense, gut-wrenching feeling that makes you want to clench your fists and shiver. On the next few rides, that feeling was gone, though. I wish I could still get that sensation. After a few more rides on Twisted Twins, I was ready to go on some bigger rides. I probably would have even ridden Chang or T2, but it was already time to leave the park That ride made me a true coaster enthusiast. I went back to SFKK the next year to ride it "for old-time's sake" lol. It is one of my all time favorites, just because it was my first, and it brings back such great, vivid memories.

This is almost as stupid as that person who said, "Oops! I spilled coffee on myself. Now, give me money!" Seriously, I hope the park realizes that this kid is just trying to be stupid. If he fell out of a log flume while trying to do a headstand or unfastened the chain on a wave swinger, he would probably try to sue the park and say that it did not have the proper restraint. People like that should be put in jail for freud.

I made this ride that is similar to the Moser Energy Rush out of Legos. I have never seen a picture of the real ride at a fair, but I have heard that it exists somewhere. It's basically like BPPB's Bling mixed with a KMG Afterburner. http://www.moserrides.com/energy-themes-electro.htm Watch the video on the site, it's awesome! It works almost like the real thing. The part that spins the seats in one direction was really complicated to make. When the knob at the top is spun back and forth, it moves the long arm. When the arm goes up on one side, a gear at the top winds up. This gear has a mechanism that only lets it spin one direction, so the gear stays still when the arm moves in the opposite direction. That gear is attached to a rubber band pulley system that makes the part with the seats spin around in one direction the whole time. The individual seats also rotate freely so that they can do barrel rolls. This is different from the real ride, in which the seats flip forward and backward. I might post a video later if I can figure out how to upload it. Edit: Video Posted Could somebody please tell me if it works, because I don't have the time to wait for it to load. I'm surprised this thing stays intact. The spinning part is extremely heavy.

Tennessee Tornado's first drop tunnel absolutely blew me away the first time I rode it! It is seemingly endless, and it has great airtime all the way down while taking your onride picture. There might be some airtime in Italian Job's tunnel, too. I really can't remember.

I stood up on a pirate ship once, and I felt like I was going to fall out! I'm sure it's much more dangerous on a coaster, though. People just don't realize just how difficult it is to hold themselves in the car when they are standing. It raises your center of gravity, so it would be almost impossible to hold on while going around a turn with high laterals.

That's really strange that the restraint was still locked when it came back into the station. I would guess that this kid was probably trying to get out of the restraint. That's usually how these things happen. But I really don't understand how he could have been thrown completely over the rail along the track to land on the ground.

I got this idea from some place, maybe it was Worth1000.com. I can't remember . I will start with a basic picture, and then anyone can take a turn photoshopping it. After one person adds or changes something, the next the next person adds onto it. And it keeps on going until the picture looks totally crazy!!!

Insanity faces you toward the ground, but the Star Flyer is more like a traditional spinning swing, only a lot higher and faster! Doesn't the Star Flyer also go up and down a few times once it is at the top?

Maybe there is some top-secret government thingy that is visible from way up there, and they don't want people to see what's going on!
