  1. Wow, so it is a real ride! Sorry for sounding incredibly stupid. I had a really lengthy post on CS, but then it was erased when I was kicked offline. I didn't feel like typing it again, so I just put a quick link to the page. BTW, I read through the CS topic and thought that link was just a joke picture. Nobody really said it was an actual ride. Now I really am impressed that anyone would actually make a transition like that. For being a real ride, IMO, it still looks very unbelievable.
  2. I'm in pain just looking at this crappy transition! I think this is a photoshopped pic, judging by the track's mysteriously-disappearing shadow and the change in colors, but this ride would be really evil if it existed. This looks like something Vekoma would do .
  3. I have only been on 9 woodies, so I will just combine the list into... Top 10 Overall! 1. Millennium Force 2. Magnum XL 200 3. Superman Ultimate Flight (SFOG) 4. Thunderhead 5. Gemini 6. Flight of Fear (PKI) 7.Raptor 8. Great American Scream Machine (SFOG) 9. Mindbender (SFOG) 10. Wicked Twister
  4. I made mine Six Flags Over Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A403642
  5. I'm sure I've been on some Chance rides at a travelling fair or something, but from what I've seen, the Huss giant rides look way better than anything Chance has made. The only huss giant ride I have been on was Tomb Raider: The Ride @ PKI, which I liked a lot, even though I was having to brace myself from the evil OTSR of doom. I wanted to go on Delirium more than any other ride @ PKI, but it was closed when I went . I have been on a KMG afterburner, which I really liked, so I think I would like Delirium even more. I guess my favorite Chance ride would be the Zipper.
  6. Here is my list, and # of credits from each park Opryland- 1 Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom- 5 Walt Disney World: Magic Kindom and Epcot- 2 Cedar Point- 10 Six Flags Over Georgia- 8 Dollywood- 3 Paramount King's Island- 9 total park count- 7 total credits- 38 That's pretty good, since I only started 3 years ago. The only one that I rode more than 3 years ago was the Little Rock'n Roller Coaster @ Opryland.
  7. I have grayed out on 2 rides. When I was at Dollywood, I rode the Tennessee Tornado twice. Both times my vision flashed in and out in the middle of the iron butterfly. At the time I had no idea what had happened. I rode it again to make sure that I was not just holding my breath through that part, and I grayed out again. The second ride I grayed out on was Face/OFF @ PKI. The first time through, my vision got a little bit blurry right before the vertical loop. Going through the second time, my vision closed in almost entirely. I closed my eyes, because I didn't even want to know if I had blacked out completely. My sister was sitting across from me, and she said that my head was getting tossed around a lot more the second time through. I was feeling really tired from dehydration before I even got on the ride, which probalby contributed to it more than the g forces. I'm going to SFOG in a week, and I really hope I can ride Mindbender without any problems. I rode it once before, and I was fine.
  8. I LOL ever time the commercial for that comes on. I love when they say "You can even find containers with a blindfold on!"
  9. 1,750,328. Don't get out of line after waiting for an hour, just because you are hungry! 1,750,329. Make sure to get to the park really early, so that you can find a bunch of random people and get in for the group rate 1,750,330. When on a stand up, don't tell the ride op to release the restraints again because you realize that you really don't want to ride sitting down. 1,750,331. Don't try to sneak your pet hamster onto the ride. 1,750,332. Don't wait for a train to come, and then toss your empty (or full!) drink can over the queue to see if you can hit it! 1,750,333. Don't tell the ride op, "I have a disorder that causes a temporary loss of leg muscle control, so I don't think I will be able to get off the ride. I think I will have to keep riding until I can move my legs."
  10. Look at the support connections on that sign for Stealth. It looks exactly like NL when you try to connect 2 beams to the same node. I really think they used NL for that sign, lol. Another common form of false advertising is to call every turn that is 360 degrees or more a "loop". When I hear "loop", I think "inversion". I hate when a helix is called a horizontal loop. Six Flags Over Georgia likes to call the tilted helix on Mindbender a loop. Also, a lot of parks say that their non-vertical ride has a ###-ft. "vertical drop." They sould just say "### feet tall". I guess the general public wouldn't care at all about these things. I feel sorry for their ignorance .
  11. I had to get one more trip in before school starts, so I'm going to go down to Stone Mountain in Georgia on Friday afternoon. I will camp there overnight and see their cool laser light show. On Saturday, I'm going to SFOG. I still haven't ridden Acrophobia, Deja Vu', or Canyon Blaster. After that, I'm going back to Stone mountain to camp another night. I'm driving home on Sunday and going to school on Monday. That will be my last amusement park until next summer .
  12. I am looking for a free image hosting site. Which ones would you all reccomend?
  13. I turned the castle into a Delicious new pasta! It's Extra Cheesy!
  14. I am plannning a trip to Six Flags Over Georgia for the weekend before school starts back up, and I need to know how much they charge for parking. I could not find this info. on the website.
  15. Wasn't Nashville Valley Amusement Park closed down? I only live half-an-hour away from it, and for some reason I've never been there . Ghetto parks, like NVAP, make me miss Opryland even more . I'm still hoping that Nashville will get that park full of giant Huss rides; I think it was going to be called Thrillopolis 8) .
  16. This is Great News for me, since I live just 4 hours from SFOG! I am planning to go back in August, and I'm hoping the ride will be completed and running by then (extremely unlikely .)
  17. A vertical log flume would be cool. The boat, instead of going over the waterfall, would go under it, with the people's heads going into it.
  18. I hope I posted this one in time. It's RatTums @ Cedar Point! (With Human Hands!)
  19. Pics. Please! I doubt the slide really has a loop. That's just crazy, and it sounds pretty dangerous. At Nashville Shores, my home water park, I was extremely freaked out by Tsunami, the 50-ft. tall half pipe slide. The fist time I rode it, the person operating it told me I had to push my own raft off the edge of the drop, which really scared me. I went over the huge drop, which was around 70 degrees, and I thought I was about to die. Once I got up on the slope on the other side, it wasn't so bad. My first ride on the Tsunami got me to start riding roller coasters. I have been on that slide more times than I can count, though the first ride of the day still makes me slightly nervous.
  20. I am glad I will get to go this summer before another ride is closed. I think they should get rid of the log flume and expand the size of the Action Zone to put in a Jump 2. They already seem to be favoring giant Huss rides.

    vekoma?..

Here are a bunch of coaster-realted terms: http://rcdb.com/glossary.htm Also, this page has a list of Amusement ride manufacturers, Vekoma included. http://user.aol.com/parklinks/rides.htm Many people do not enjoy riding Vekoma coasters, because their poorly-designed wheel assemblys make the trains shake too violently. I, will ride anything, though. You just have to remember to push your head back hard against the headrest on a Vekoma.
  22. I just made mine today. I really like the way it turned out.
  23. You need to check your grammar, and be more descriptive with the ways in which the rides mentioned in your paper actually look and work. Try to write this paper as if you are trying to explain it to someone who does not know anything about roller coasters. Give some information about the manufacturers instead of just giving their names and mentioning their rides once. I would try to re-word "always be getting different." In cases like this, most people would probably not have heard of Stealth, so the name does not need to be mentioned unless you are going to give more specific info about it. Also, your opinion on this matter is not really relavent to this essay. Just stick with the facts. In a research paper, all parenthetical quotes, such as should be written as (Chandler, 35-36). With these corrections, your paper will be really good.
  24. I went to Dollywood with ACE, but I could not get to Lake Winnie because of school. I planned to ride the good rides before it rained. On Saturday, I headed straight for Thunderhead. Riding from the front seat, the ride was very fast, and the speed never let up. I had never been on a woodie with Millennium Flyers, and I was surprised that there was not much to hold onto. That didn't really matter, because I had my hands up all the way. Next, I rode Daredevil Falls. I just thought it would go up the lift and back down, but it was kind of like Splash Mountain with all of its turns before the drop. The drop was cool, but I really expected it to be steeper. I went to the back of the park for a ride on the Tennessee Tonado. The first drop was really fun, but the huge loop was just strange. It had some really weird laterals through the top of the big loop. The Iron Butterfly was the most intense part of the ride, in fact I think it was the most intense part of any ride I have been on. It only pulls 4 g's but it lasted so long that I felt myself balcking out near the end of it  . It made me nervous, but I still rode it again. Right after I got off, it was raining very hard, so I went to the bird show. It was okay, but I was just glad to be out of the rain. Once the weather had cleared off, I headed for the Slidewinder, and it was closed I rode Blazing Fury next. I had no idea what to expect when I got on it. It ended up being a cool little ride. The "lift hill" part was extremely boring and cheesy, though. The weather was getting much warmer, so I went over to the river raft ride. The ride was fun, but the waterfall at the end just ruined the whole ride for me. The waterfall shuts off just before you are going to go through it . I went on the little car driving thing after that, and it was boring. Next up was the Wilderness Adventure ride! I had seen it on a travel chanel show about Dollywood. It was funny and entertaining the whole way through, so I rode it three times, lol . Next I went back to the Slidewinder, and it was open! I really wanted to ride up the lift, but I just had to walk up like everybody else . The maximum weight limit was 750 pounds, and my group weighed 749, so we barely got to ride! It was pretty cool, much better than the dry bob sled rides. Next I went over to the fair section. I was disappointed with how everything was packed together. I really wanted to go on the Dizzy Disk, but it had a flat tire for the weekend. I went on a few rides, and then headed back to Thunderhead for the ACE group picture. Next up, food! The food was the best part of the day, because I had not eaten anything all day. After dinner, I re-rode many of the rides before the ERT. I was somewhat disappointed with the Thunderhead ERT. They got a late start, so it was only about 40 minutes long. I only had enough time for two backseat rides during the ERT session. The back seat of Thunderhead makes the front seat seem like a kiddie coaster! I loved it! Sunday was very cold, rainy day. I just sat in the arcade to eat, deciding not to be one of the crazy people to actually go on Slidewinder or Tornado in that weather. I left the arcade after the park opened to try to find a warm place to dry off. I went to the blacksmith, but his fire was not going yet . I re-rode several rides that day and went to the little church service at the chapel. The train ride was disgusting, because of all of the ashes that got everywhere. They should seriously consider using electricity for their train instead of coal. I was glad that we had a speaker from GCI after lunch. It was the first time I had heard a speaker from any roller coaster manufacturer. Somebody asked a question about the CCI ride, Hades, and they had no idea what that was (it seems like they don't know their competition very well). After one more backseat ride on Thunderhead (a little too soon after lunch), I left the park at around 3:00. Dollywood was a nice little park, but you don't need two days there, unless you plan on going to every show.
  25. I rode Thunderhead in the back seat just 4 hours ago!!! It had amazingly intense airtime loodshot:
