  1. The problem with Mantis is that is is too intense. It's not really rough as in an arrow, it's just really really powerful. Tons of positive G's, really kills the legs. This is the real reason behind the trim brake that takes nothing away from the ride.
  2. I could see it staying where it is. The Turns aren't all that big of a ride. More on the Mouse size of things as far as footprint goes. The Looper is great fun, so much better then the Chance Rock and Roll wanna be things.
  3. The Cedar Point one brings back great memories of my youth. Man CP in the 80's was such a different place yet still the same. I miss some things but am glad their are others to take their place.
  4. MF's trains are closer to 29 tons each which is over 3 tons per car, BUT Dragster's trains are MUCH MUCH MUCH lighter, on the order of about 10 tons for the entire train.
  5. If it were an issue of parking I would say it was fine. If you leave the park you have to pay to park again. What bugs me is that I have been known to nap during the day or go get or drop off camera equipment that I refuse to put in a locker throughout the day. If they want to discourage leaving to eat, then by all means I see no problem with making you pay to park a second time...but to not allow you to go to your car, that would be really bad. Hopefully they will keep the policy they went back to after the backlash.
  6. There won't be another coaster next year if that's what you are thinking. Make sure you get your rdes on everything back in Frontiertown aside from Mine Ride next year though
  7. I have ridden all the US Variations aside from PGAM's Top Gun and Silver Bullet and my list would go... Raptor Fire Talon SFGAM's Batman Top Gun The Jet Coaster Montu really underwhelmed me and Talon was unreal last trip to Dorney. I am excited to ride the Patriot.
  8. Universal is as anal as Cedar Fair when it comes to on ride cameras, Disney on the other hand encourages it.
  9. I have the VHS tape of it. Got it for a dollar at the local Big Lots.
  10. It's two chains on one lift. Also I wasn't aware that anyone was killed when it lost the wheel, anyone care to refresh my memory?
  11. Triangular shaped bunny hops oh yeah and crazy lateral airtie pops that lead into killer helices around stations As if you can't tell what coasters those elements are on.
  12. Wow, this makes Nemesis's interaction with it's own pit pale in comparison. Holy crap! Also good to see the worksite still looks as if a small thermonuclear device went off.
  13. The obvious answer is Hypers and Woodies. And you can't get much more obvious then that.
  14. Well King's Island didn't pay a dime for Vortex, Arrow replaced The Bat with Vortex at no charge. This was in Arrow's court, not PKI's. This is also why the park built Top Gun. The Bat was unfixable. No banking was a big part of it, but also note the brake fins were on the bottom of the cars. To "fix" the Bat woudl have required replacement of no less then most of the track aside from the lift, all the brake runs and all 3 trains. You can see why Arrow cut their losses and tried again later, and you can also see why the next two Suspendeds were so tame in comparison (BBW was actually a Schwarzkopf design that Arrow completed.)
  15. Intamin's powder coating seems to be the absolute worst at holding color. Wicked Twister, Millennium Force and Dragster are all horibly faded.
  16. GCI Millennium Flyer trains and unmodified Intamin Hyper trains (I.E. MF, GOliath, etc.)
  17. Looks like a very ubiquitous building too me. Just because it's old doesn't make it historic. Cedar Fair did what they did to the park and obviously it worked. It is a business and they are making loads of money off the place, only behind CP and KNott's in the profit category. CF recreated the park in it's image and I really don't see anythign wrong with that. Talon is great, I think Hydra is great, Steel Force was amazing last time I rode it. The park is immaculate, well run, and definitely has brand identity. Now if CF were to go to CP and tear down the Coliseum or the lobby of the Breakers then I would be up in arms. But too me this building seemed to have little if any intrinsic value other then just being "old." Was this park ever like Knoebel's or Kennywood even in the "Good old days"? If it were I don't see how it ever could have lasted against the likes of GADV in today's world.
  18. Looks to be about as far along as Ky Rumbler (ooohhh I like the sound of that, perhaps it also has the warming sensation.)awesome how fast te two GCI's went up. It amazes me how much better GCI's recent offerings are.
  19. I have a Blue Streak seat belt I would trade for an Oreck Xl 8 pound upright. I am not greedy enough to want a dyson.
  20. Call me crazy but I like the wand. Absolutly hate the hat though, ruins the view.
  21. I can't decide between the sheer fun factor of Lightning Racer and the hand slapping airtime filled goodness of Gemini.
  22. Phonix dropped to a three for me this year, it was just downright bad at PPP. Tister however was godly. 2 more number ones for me this year though with Avalanche and Hades. There is no way I cudl do this poll without using Robb's method as I really don't rank coasters.
  23. The only Six Flags park in direct competetion with a CF park is Magic Mountain.
