  1. Wow this thing is going up fast.
  2. Good riddance to crotch killer the line err ride.
  3. Oh yee of little faith, there will be another water ride to replace it, count my words. The building has been gone for three years now, it completely collapsed a during the offseason. Waveswinger is going to be moving as well and Antique cars will also be going the way of the dinosaur. Things will be changing considerably back in Frontier Town over the next few years.
  4. The only ride that looks totally slvagable is Batman as the Station is built high enough to keep most of the electronics and mechanicals out of the water. Anything else is nothing more then scrap metal and garbage fiberglass. The structural steel is the least expensive parts of these rides, yet is the only thing still there. The park is gone and there won't be a real need for it in the area for QUITE a while now. Six Flags woudl be very smart to take whatever they can and get out of the situation. the question is still up in the air as to whether Batman belongs to the park or to the city.
  5. Go Ahead Six Flags, keep throwing rides and money into your parks, that will really help your situation when you don't even have money to run rides at full capacity or even operate them at all.
  6. Epcot all the way...why you ask? Beer, Beer, Wine, Beer, Beer, Mission Space, Beer, Beer, Food, Beer..........oh yes, and Beer.
  7. At it's worst Disney has more money then God, I wouldn't take any rumors too seriously.
  8. If you were hunter you would understand the turkey call, it looks awesome and I am glad it will be something a bit different. THis dark ride will round out HW's rides far more then the new coaster will.
  9. Josh Wozny who I believe is a member of this site and has been in numerous R and E segments had a hand in the creation of Elijah's Chariot. It was built for a Church Event and then sadly taken down.
  10. An old Denzel Carousel like that could easily go for a couple million as a whole and even more if you sell it an animal at a time.
  11. Look at every other coaster site out there, URC, Cbuzz, RRC, etc etc, they all have the same discussions going on.
  12. Whoever asked about ACE's obsession with the film Roller Coaster. The group was founded by some of the extras who were riders on PKD's Rebel Yell. A meeting by those people later that year put ACE into excistence. Say what you will about ACE, but without that catalyst I doubt this site or any other would be here. It is just the current state of the Association that has killed it. There is a Sony PSP commerical out right now where someone is riding either PNE's Coaster or one of the Giant Dippers, I can't quite tell.
  13. Kenny kicked out of park was only because his friends show people he liked. He just wants have fun at Astroworld and nobody loves him he go now. Goodbye Astroworld. -Brent "that was only for the RRCers" Kneebush And for for the biggest markets you need to check Metropolitan Areas not core city size. Here are the 10 Biggest metropolitan areas in the US. 1 New York 20,124,377 2 Los Angeles 15,781,273 3 Chicago 8,809,846 4 Washington 7,285,206 5 San Francisco 6,816,047 6 Philadelphia 5,988,348 7 Boston 5,633,060 8 Detroit 5,457,583 9 Dallas 4,802,463 10 Houston 4,407,579 Look at Detroit, this is why Cedar Point has far more Michigan cars in the parking lot then Ohio cars on any given day.
  14. Best place on the face of the Earth IMO. It's Holidayworld that is grossly overrated.
  15. Cedar Point Michigan's Adventure Geagua Lake Six Flags St. Louis Six Flags Great America Indiana Beach Mt. Olympus Timber Falls Dollywood Islands of Adventure Universal Studios Florida Epcot Magic Kingdom Disney MGM Stuios Only new parks are Dollywood and Timber Falls Highlight of the year was definitly Dollywood, such an amazing place. Still on the docket for this year is SFNE, SFGADV, Dorney, and Knoebel's as well as a couple more trips to CP and GL.
  16. While on the ride the loudest has got to be the Beast at night in the ending helix, it just absolutely screams through the tunnel.
  17. All SFNO will be is costers sitting in water. The flats are gone, the buildings are gone, any eletricals are shot on anything remotely close to the ground. Six Flags can get the insurance money, sell the land, and disperse Batman and MegaZeph. I say go for it.
  18. I could see Dick Knoebel picking up an Anton if it were available.
  19. From a monetary standpoint it's a great move, especially when the park is trying to dump debt like they are. This is money that will go directly at that debt plus the park gets "new" attractions for other parks. It really is a win win situation even if you hate to see it happen. It's nothing new either as hundreds of parks have succombed to the same fate over time. Maybe a mad dash to Texas beofre the end this year is in order. They are definitely selling for the Real Estate alone and not to sell the park with the attractions to be operated again. That park sits on some VERY prime real estate.
  20. Sure you will, they just won't be at Astroworld.
  21. Thats the way I would do it to get the least amount of crowds. You may want to check though on MIA, I think they may be closed for the season.
  22. Die Cast Construction Equipment and Farm Machinery is a huge market. As a farm boy I myself collects Farm "toys." Of course most of these are anything but Toys and are highly detailed collectibles of what we or the neighbors used to farm with. It is no different then Model Railroads or cars. If someone decided to make good high quality but relatively cheap and accurate park collectibles they would see a lot of them sold. Things like the Coaster Dynamix are a bit too high in price for most peoples blood and they are still too toylike for me to want anything to do with it. Things like the Millenium Force model being done by the Danbury Mint look great and woudl be cool to have I also have a model monorail thats sits on my desk here at work that I love.
  23. When paying 11 dollars to park, 3 dollars for a bottle of pop, 8 dollars for a buger and fries and 25 dollars for a tshirt, 5 dollars extra on a tank of gas doesn't make much difference.
  24. Last I knew the community actually owned the park.
  25. It was loosely based to begin with, the butchering of the ride hardly changes that. It's still as close as you are going to find to the original. I hardly doubt a Summers POS would have ever been as good as aSchmeck to beign with
