  1. You obviously don't watch South Park.
  2. S:UF at GAM, not a big fan, I like the S:UF's less and less everytime I ride one. The brain sucking pretzel is interesting but almost two intense for me, the rest of the ride does nothing more then amble around and i find the flying position to be just as uncomfortable as a standup. Here's to hoping the flier is just a passing faze, like the Stand Up.
  3. That started way before Scream and X Flight. Back before the Warner Brothers years even,Shockwave at SFGAM was the original parking lot coaster, curbs and all. Of course the reason for that was that they were forced to slap it in there as it was originally intended for GADV and approval fell through and the ride had to be put somehwhere with very minimal site preparation. At least they themed the queue house though to the New Orleans section. i sure miss that big painful Arrow
  4. Ozark Wildcat and Thunderhead don't look like they should have airtime either, but they most definitely do. GCI just seems to be getting stronger and stronger with their ride designs adding a lot more forces in weird ways then they used too.
  5. Cedar Fair will definitely pass, they will not buy the whole chain, now if parks were being pieced out thats another story entirely. A Texas park and SFOG would fit very well into CP, but I am not sure they would buy SFOG unless they coudl actually BUY SFOG, not lease it as Six Flag's does now. I think it is pretty safe to say that the main money maker in the chain is SFGAM, at least for this year anyway. IMO that park is definitely the crown jewel of SFI.
  6. Actually it will be more like Six Flag's AS we new it. Basically a split of the Warner Brothers SFI parks and the Premier Parks into what they were before Premier bought the chain would be perfect.
  7. That is exactly what they are doing. As bad as anyone may say Six Flag's parks are, I have yet to ever have a bad time at one of their parks. The same cannot be said of Cedar Fair (bad experience at Dorney) and Paramount (I find King's Island to be horrible.) The main problem in my mind is the huge amount of debt they have racked up, that surely doesn't mean that the parks aren't totally viable.
  8. Even the small parks out there are money makers, the problem is the debt SF has piled up is so mind boggling that it takes a huge amount to just pay off the interest. This is a better idea they letting Snyder have his way with things for sure, if he wants the company he will have to buy the company, not force a hostile takeover of it. I think we will see some parks spun off, but I doubt we will see much in the way of closures. IMO SFI woudl make more sense as two seperate entitities, the small SFKK's, Elitches, and Darien lakes of the chain as one set and the original 4 Six Flag's along with SFGAM, SFMM, the Texas Parks, and the California parks as the others.
  9. if not for other things costing small fortunes next year (need a new car bad, need a house, have a wedding to pay for, honeymoon etc etc etc) I would definitely be up for this. Ah the joys of married life! There is always 2007
  10. Raptor has ALWAYS done that since day one.
  11. Number one, how can this guy even prove he was there and on this ride 5 years ago? Number 2, this is friggin Blazing Fury!
  12. Nice TR Kip, did you ride Hades towards the front? There is some VERY impressive ejector air up there, it is definitely a front seat ride as for Viper, the line is only a half an hour when full, it is all straight in now, no turnbacks and they don't load the station.
  13. Just got home, lets see I left at 5 yesterday morning and I just got home at 3 this morning. Good times good times, and I work in just a few hours. At least I will have "Where do you live ******?" to get me through the day.
  14. I don't really rank coasters in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc format. Instead I just have my favorites. For Wood my favorites include, Hades Avalanche Cornball Express The Boss The Villian Legend Raven Twister Phoenix Shivering Timbers Thunderhead For Steel Magnum Dragtser SFA's S:RoS Chiller Mr. Freeze Kumba Dragons Hulk Tennesee Tornado Raptor Montu Nitro Raging Bull Apollo's Chariot SFGAM's Batman (so much better then the rest) Phantom's Revenge To rank just 10 of each is way too simplistic for me.
  15. They were looking at ride types not actual rides. The Article was pretty clueless.
  16. How did it make me bleed? It ripped my ear open, and I don't even have pierced ears! Worse then any Arrow or Vekoma.
  17. Has nothing to do with your balls and everythign to do with what it does to the rest of you. I am a seasoned Mantis and Chang rider and know how to ride stand ups and this thing absolutely kills me. The only coaster to ever make me bleed and the worst steel roller coaster out there now that Viper at GADV is gone.
  18. Magnum is my favorite coaster, there seems to be a love or hate relationship with that ride. Half the people love it, half the people hate it. If you know how to ride (cross your legs and put them straight ahead) it doesn't hurt in the least, but if not for the seat belt you would likely pull a Tamar.
  19. I actually like the looks of it, and I love the layout, but knowing how the recent string of Ho Hum Beemers that have been put out I am not sure what to think. Batinator and Kumba are the only B and M sitdown loopers that really get my juices flowing.
  20. A bullet train eh? Well the parks are about 70 miles apart straight line distance and a bullet train woudl cost about 20 million a mile by the time you figure river crossings, no at grade crossings, buying very valuable property, etc etc plus the added cost of the trains themselves. I could really see them spending a billion and a half dollars on such a venture. Honestly I think they need to take a Hershey/Dutch Wonderland approach with the whole thing. Those two parks seem to work very well together, and many people go to both of them on a vacation.
  21. Gil Grissom (The Character) on CSI is an ACE member and has roller coaster pictures in his office.
  22. ^Exactly, and a park like Cedar Point would have been "out there" if they would have just built Millenium Force with a launch when they already have Millenium Force right there. Dragster was what it was on purpose, it was designed to be a drop tower in the form of a roller coaster with a launch. Intamin even calls it that.
  23. I have been to the park 50 times since Dragtser opened and have ridden Dragster probably 150 times and it NEVER launches at 130. The fastest I have ever seen is 125 and tha average is about 121. I have never seen it launch at under 120 and make it over the top hat.
