  1. You don't see many woodie cars for sale as they are usually rebuilt and not replaced, unlike the fiberglass bodies of an Arrow Looper. I have seen GASM cars sitting in the junkyard on Scrapheap/Junkyard Wars. In fact someone made a boat out of one of them.
  2. Sonny's helix copies the Beast's helix which copied the helix on the Shooting Star at Coney Island Ohio. If you sit in 1-2 on Sonny the ride is actually really enjoyable, pitty such awful trains have to ruin a ride. Incidently the two Grizzlies at PKD, and PGA and the Wild Beast at PCW are copies of CI's other big woodie, the Wildcat, when the park was replaced by King's Island. The Mighty Canadian Mine Buster is a close representation of the Shooting Star as well.
  3. If the ride can be reopened even for the last day of the year CP will do it, it being closed for the rest of the year is definitely not a forgone conclusion.
  4. This is the firt major problem Dragtser has had in about 2 seasons now. It was runnign really reliably. AFAIK Ka is down as well.
  5. Looks loads better then Silver Bullet, more along the line of a 1999/2000 looking Beemer Invert. That's not a bad thing by any means, should be fun, doubt it will be amazing.
  6. Fine. Every major park in the United States closes for the season before there is a risk of snow. I have ridden every coaster at PKI in the snow. Care to change your blanket statement?
  7. Cedar Point has 3 big non looping steel coasters, and two of them fall into the Hyper Category. It obviously works well for them.
  8. Mindbender at SFoG and Raptor both have some really intense helices. If you want to go with most intense eleements, I absolutely cannot tolerate the soul sucking power of the S:UF pretzel's.
  9. Like was said, all the parks had Hypers before Intamin and B and M introduced there's. If you really want to get technical Cedar Point does have 3 non inverting Intamin's over 200 feet. Millennium Force may be over 300 feet but it is still a hyper too. Anyone ever notice that Cedar Fair has far fewer coasters with Inversions then other Chains?
  10. Best Single Aitime hill on the planet is the third hill on SFA's S:RoS Best lateral air would have to be the top of the Helix on Knoebel's Twister. Best series of airtime hills is far and away Avalanche. Best airtime in a tunnel while in the dark and underground , the nutso lateral hill on Hades. Most Prolonged air, the Maggie hill on Millennium Force. Best Ejector air, Cyclops final drop. Most air on a single coaster, Shivering Timbers Best Tamar (Scariest) Air, SFA S:RoS third hill pre modified lapbars, Raven's 5th drop of course, or Avalanche in the back. Best Double down/Double up, Legend Best unexpected air, double down on Hades I think that about covers it.
  11. Millennium Force hurts like hell in the rain. Nothing like 93 MPH hailst...errrr raindrops. That being said, it's the only time I enjoy riding the thing.
  12. You must be riding a different Thunder Run then me, that thing is a great ride.
  13. You have obviously never ridden Chiller. That Zero G definitely doesn't pin you in your seat, it tries to throw you out.
  14. SFoG is actually a well run park. I am sure they will be able to hit interval without a problem.
  15. I am sure B and M and Stengal took the road into account when designing those supports. If a Batman Clone in New Orleans can withstand 145 MPH winds I am sure they have all bases covered.
  16. Kick Ass! Absolutely love the layout and the fact that it interacts with others rides and goes out side of the park, Looks like they took the best of all the Beemer hypers and put it together. I love the fact that the second drop is the biggest, this looks to be a great ride.
  17. I had the pleasure well maybe disepleasure of meeting R and E about 4 years ago along with David Hamburger and Luskus. That same day I sat on the brake run of Nitro, David Hamburger on one side of me, and two hot young lesbians making out on the other side of me, and I thought, wow what in the hell have a gotten myself into?
  18. Waterparks correalate into attendance, not Mr. Six. Just ask SFGAM. Although it's does bring great brand identity.
  19. Disney has never been under 20 feet of water either. This is bad, really bad.
  20. Cyclops has two spots of really really good air, but it's only half a ride, and it's not even a twister, Cyclops may have a couple better elements, but in no way shape or form does it throw it together in a package like Thunderhead.
  21. You are gonna be about 2 weeks to early for me Gregg.
  22. It's industry people, but it's not enthusiasts people last I knew. These people obviously go to parks, but they do it as a job, not like we do. It's not a bunch of ACER's who vote is what I am getting at, although enthusiast do make up a percentage of the vote. In that way it's much different then Mitch's poll.
  23. Well remember folks that the Golden Tickets are not just enthusiats but more GP type personalities then anyhting. I think that alone explains Millennium Force, but I am weird and would personally put Magnum about where it is on the list. I don't know but I agree with a lot of what is on there. While Mythos is excellent the rest of IOA's food is subpar IMO, Knoebel's has great food everywhere, as does Epcot, as does BGW. Holiday World's employees are really that friendly all the time. MF is still the only coaster I see anywhere that gives the kind of reaction it does as it pulls into the unload station even if I do hate it. Thunderhead is easily the best twister I have ever ridden as any of the rest of my favorite wood are all variations on an out and back aside from Twister. I think the rankings are ok as everyone has there own opinion and most of the people who do the Golden Tickets are not really enthuiasts in the sense that we are. The one thing I do question is Papa Beast on the list, at night it is great, but during the day it is mediocre at best, it's really sad.
