Having 1/2-3/4 of your annual budget going to Fried Chicken, Gravy and meatballs is a problem in this slow economic era. Its time ACE tightens their collective waistbelt and cuts the fat from their diet.

Robb & Elissa's Transatlantic Cruise!
ChrisZer0 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow Rob, let the language fly man... Ya gotta love the europeans, they dont believe in things like "personal injury". Too bad this country is too damn litgious when it comes to running a coaster in a light mist... -
Dave Goes To Las Vegas!
ChrisZer0 replied to Meteornotes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Dave, I haver to agree on the TOGO Death Machine known as the manhattan express. I gave it a ride only because I got comps due to being in vegas for my honeymoon. The thing sucks and left me in bad neck and shouder pain for three days after riding, made for an interesting flight back home the day after. Wife and I enjoyed the Venetian Gondola Ride, I agree that more sharks would make the thing an e-ticket and something the midwesterners would enjoy... -
SFNO/Jazzland Discussion Thread
ChrisZer0 replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nagin and his whole staff are the reason NOLA hasnt improved in the 3+ years since katrina. Why the citizens didnt vote these jackholes out when they had a chance is something we'll all be asking for years to come. When it comes to SFNO, im of the belief that a city shouldnt get in the business of running a themepark. Im not going to get into the legal mumbo-jumbo surrounding the situation or who owns what, but this should be another fine example of why public/private partnerships are risky at best. Not to mention, it appears from all sides that nagin is trying to run a hustle on SF Inc. to recoup loses that are squarely the fault of the city/parish.. -

B&A has offically jumped the shark...No Idol, No reason to watch -
Im avoiding LAX at all costs, ive found rentals there are atrocious. I found a flight via BUR and car rental is also cheaper there...

Im in the same place, as I work front line desktop support for one of the worlds largest entertainment companies. I deal with both nice folks and some real a-holes on a daily basis. I also many years ago got that up-front guest service role when I worked at SFoT. I still to this day give those guys and gals respect for their job...

E-Tums, I agree 100%. I think people have forgotten their manners as well when they go out for a day at the parks. I feel for alot of these ride ops and guest facing employees/cast members/ect.. as they take alot of guff from whiney Gen Y/Millenial kids and the parents/caretakers who refuse to make them be responsible young people. Robb, I also agree on the "Single Rider Line" argurment. Im of the belief that everyone should get in line and wait it out accordingly. Gregg, Do tell about the "Sand On The Ticketbooth" day, as I havent heard this sordid tale...

No doubt man. I like the Del. It was the first place I hit after I landed in Vegas last summer, as I was staying across the street at the NYNY Hotel Casino. Im also a fan of the smaller local/regional chain places(eegees-Tucson, The Hat-Ca, Kellers-Dallas ect) because they put alot more love into their products.

Herb: 1) Usually with the SF parks (depending on local market) you'll see a cross promotion with coke cans or coupons, esp. during the summer months and special events (fright fest/holiday in the park) 2) For Flashpass, if your're going solo, it may be benefical, as SF doesnt have single-rider lines.. 3)From what I understand, Universal Studio can be done pretty much in an afternoon, as this park is pretty small when it comes to rides.

TPR PENS! (Yes, pens!)
ChrisZer0 replied to Crazy4Coasters!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The "Ladies Of TPR" desk calendar would be a welcome addition to the things you offer now.... -
Ive found that with tripadvisor things can go two different ways: 1)You give an sugary writeup bordering on asskissing with some folks. 2)You write up a review looking at everything wrong with said property/place. Ive been on tripadvisor as long as ive been on TPR, and alot of times you'll see these jackholes who post everything wrong about a hotel because they had a "bad trip" or they just like griping. Thats life, there are people who are just so bitter they think everything is a consipiracy against them and them alone. I'll admit, ive been to places I like and I dont like. i'll be honest, yet just(nothing is "fair" in life) in my opinion.

Nice TR guys...The El Toro themeing got me thinking, as Texas Giant at SFoT is going down for a year rehab in 2010, will they be building a new queue themed to the southwest similar in nature to what they have here. It would be a nice addition to the park and the area in general...

Adventureland is like another film in the genre "Fast Times At Ridgemont High". You go in thinking its all about spicolli and mr hand, but it turns out it has three different plot lines (Spicoli, Brad, Stacy/Mike/Rat) and how they handled growing up. I liked adventureland, because it had a heart to it. It was funny, yet had sensability to it and felt real. 9/10
