I had one last summer when they were testing the product in the Las Vegas market, It was ok, I like my soda pop to taste like soda pop, not infused with red bull...

^ Thats a good question Mike......Im thinking Robb ranks right between Kathy Griffin and Dolph Lungren on the Celebrity List, recognizable yet someone you may or may not loan money to Celebritywise, I used to work at SFoT back in the mid 90's, when WB ran the parks and they stayed opened until midnight on weekends, I ran into Fred Schneider from the B-52's in tights one night w/ Kate in tow, both were really cool and played my game I ran. The next evening George Strait brought his nephew out to the park to shoot hoop. I also ran into Gary Busey that summer as well, man that guy is a nut job.

Seeing SFoT is turning 50 in 2011, I have a feeling they're going to go all out to redo the park as a whole. Maybe they'll finally get some decent flood control on Johnson Creek, which runs right through the park and has been known to shut down the park if it floods. Besides the big work on Giant, Most of the other work will be theming, as the park could use some redo/upkeep on ride stations, buildings, ect. Maybe they'll get rid of that Alamo facade they had at the back of the park, if they havent already...

Im in agreement, its been 20 years since this thing went up without any major work to the coaster, since this is my home park, I can testify without a doubt that the ride has gotten progressively rougher over the years, so much I cant ride it anymore because of my back and head. Im hoping for three things: A)Major work to the ride structure as a whole, smoothing it out accordingly. B) New Cars, as the current have too much jump and jutter C) Total area cleanup & renovation to ride station, entrance line, ect..

In this economic climate, do you think its smart to open up a specialty barbershop themed to your product, im going to thumbs down this idea. Besides, id rather get my haircut at either floyds 99 or knockouts...

Quote of the day! I agree, you see it everywhere. Ive run into a few of those little punks (im 32, I can call them little punks now) all the time at the mall, doing nothing but being pains in the ass to everyone. They have smart mouths and think mommy/daddy will pay for everything...

Apologies on that larry, just using it to make a point. Im of the belief we should strive to be better to our neighbors, not just the old lady who lives next door or across the street, but around the world as well.

I think you can also make the argurment that this happends alot of times in big cities. I live in Dallas for example and I had similar situations with the airport and grocery store. when you point it out to them, you first get a dumb look, then a look of awe, then a lack of resolve. With your orlando example, I work with alot of orlando folks in my job, and they are some of the nicest folks out there. They remind me of the california of the 60's (laid back, really mellow, ect..) and the business a good number of them are in (tourism) I believe alot of this can be tied to one thing: A good number of folks in this country has become a bunch of obnoxious jerks. We've become that neighbor who turns up "freebird" at 2am on a wednesday morning and wails accordingly, who leaves his Ford Ranchero up on blocks out side their doublewide that already has a toliet in an overgrown yard of weeds. I think part of that is due to supposed "national pride" due to our ex idiot in chief, who made being an asshat a national past time. Apologies for throwing in a little socio-political talk

I'll agree to a point with you on this. I provide IT support for one of the worlds largest entertainment companies and I can tell you theres a difference between the people in city and commuters. Mostly the people who commute from the burbs(pasadena, glendale, ect..) are pretty laid back, very so-cal and seem to enjoy life. Its the d-bag a-holes who live in city proper (LA, Hollywood,ect..) who make it miserable accordingly. But, you can make that argurment concerning other "hip cities" (portland, seattle, austin, NYC,ect..) as well.

I have a sis-in-law and husband who live in north LA (eagle rock, near the ventura). They moved down due from San Francisco due to him going after his doctorate in education. One complaint they have about living there is traffic 24/7, as well as the occasional d-bag hipster asshats they run into that come up from LA on Bruins gameday. Elsewise, they love it

Six Flags May Not Survive 2009...
ChrisZer0 replied to sfmmrules!'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
For me, its a THINK and a HOPE they sell off the remaining regional parks and focus on the core nine (seven parks + 2 water parks) accordingly. -

Im going to guess part of this is due to them changing their price structure on admissions. I wonder if Mr. Six figured into the equation as well?? -
I mainly use enterprise, as I get a discount with my AAA memebership or using entertainment book coupons for a better deal. Thats how im rolling when im in LA this fall...

Terry, I used to work at SFoT on the youth weekends (Senior Night/Jeebus Weekend) in the mid-late 90s, I can tell you that its about the same thing, when it gets to be 3am, people start getting angry for some reason and start acting the fool. I witnessed one night where there was like 2-3 fights breaking out within a 10 mins period in the same area. Fellow co-worker got popped in the eye by an angry 17 yr old who he busted for smoking pot ... So yeah, a 24 hour theme park, save Las Vegas, isnt really a good idea...
