Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread
VF15 replied to the_rock401's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Upgraded restrooms would be nice, but I don't think they're a necessity. As for Windseekers, I think Cedar Fair is probably done with them because the existing ones have been mechanical nightmares. -
-Assigned seating on coasters. I get that there are reasons for it, but it's still annoying that after waiting in line for an hour, you're told to sit in row 5. -People blocking the entrance to the ride. This happens to me all the time. Usually it's because the measuring pole and/or test seat are located too close to the queue entrance.

Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread

It looks like it's probably just landscaping, although it's possible that it could be for future expansion since that's where some cones were located at the end of the 2014 season. On another note, do the rest of you think RipTide may be on its way out soon? RipTide seems to have the most downtime of any ride in the park, and a lot of other parks have removed their HUSS Top Spins in recent years. RipTide also never has longer than a one-cycle wait except for on hot days. -

A Windseeker might be a good fit for the park, but I think Cedar Fair is probably done with them because no one wants to invest in a ride that's closed half of the time. -

Found these pictures on Screamscape of markings on some trees around Great Escape's Alpine Bobsleds. I wonder if this could be a sign of a possible removal. -

I live about two hours away from the park in Southern Minnesota and visit Valleyfair 8 to 10 times a year (I would go more often if I lived closer). I actually live slightly closer to Arnolds Park than Valleyfair, but I still consider VF to be my home park. Good to know I'm not the only VF fan here that doesn't live in the metro area. I usually get a gold pass (without dining), though I got a platinum pass this year since I'm going to some other CF parks this summer (going to Worlds of Fun in a few weeks). -

Worlds of Fun (WOF) Discussion Thread
VF15 replied to OzCatter's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yes, a launched wing coaster would be a nice addition to Worlds of Fun, but unfortunately, Cedar Fair doesn't invest that kind of money in parks like Worlds of Fun, although I'm not sure if that $22 million includes Thunderbird's theming. I personally think a Premier Sky Loop (Tempesto clone) would be perfect for Worlds of Fun, but it isn't likely to happen because Cedar Fair hasn't built any rides from Premier Rides (all the Premier coasters in the chain were acquired in the Paramount buyout). -
Too tall. Homeless in Arizona or homeless in Canada?

As of June 2015, the roughest coaster I have ridden is Invertigo at Kings Island. Even though I was sitting in the front row (facing forward) and riding it defensively, my head still got banged around a lot, and I blame it on those horrible Vekoma restraints. It wasn't torture, but it was not pleasant at all. If it had better restraints, it could become a decent ride since there was some intensity, but in its current state, I have no reason to ride it again. Ouch: The Ride

No wish to backfire. I wish for Valleyfair to get a Chance Hyper GT-X. -
True. The person below me has multiple home parks.

Earlier today (Billie Jean). When was the last time it snowed where you live?

Whenever I see three-train operations on Wild Thing, it almost always results in stacking, so the third-train is basically unnecessary . I personally would rather see them run two trains on their other coasters more often. -

Granted, but it will be priced ridiculously. I wish for Intamin coasters to not break down so often. -

Yes, I have experienced coaster burnout sometimes, although I am a bit torn on this subject. What I mean is, I wouldn't want to visit a park every day because I might start to get bored of it, and the experience of visiting an amusement park would not feel as special as it should. On the other hand, since I live in a place where my home park is open for less than half of the year, I have to take advantage of coaster season while it lasts. I usually visit a park every two weeks or so because that seems like a good interval so that by the end of the season, I don't feel burned out or feel like I didn't ride enough.

Worlds of Fun (WOF) Discussion Thread

Probably Michigan's Adventure. I've heard that MiA's general manager said the park will be getting a major capital investment soon, and they could definitely use a new coaster since their last one was a relocated SLC seven years ago. Haven't heard any official rumors for Worlds of Fun or Valleyfair, but I predict that they'll both receive a new coaster sometime within the next three years. -

The only Cedar Fair FlowRider is at Kings Island's waterpark, and I believe there's a water coaster at Castaway Bay (indoor waterpark in Sandusky). A FlowRider might be a good replacement for the old Splash Station. -

I think the park will still get a new attraction for 2016, though it likely won't be anything too big because the new parking lot/employee road will probably eat up most of the budget. My guess is that it's either Larson Flyers or a small waterpark addition (maybe something like Typhoon at Canada's Wonderland).
