  1. Racer - Kings Island
  2. Granted, but now you become allergic to other animals. I wish for summer to last longer.
  3. Going to Adventureland (Iowa) for the first time a week from today.
  4. I wouldn't complain if we got a Chance Hyper GT-X because it would probably become the best ride in the park, however Valleyfair needs something with inversions more than a GT-X. I know inversions aren't what make or break a coaster, but it has been 35 years since the park last received a looping coaster and they could use another one. An S&S Free-Spin coaster like Batman at SFFT might not be impossible since Valleyfair has worked with S&S in the past (Power Tower and Xtreme Swing), but I don't think it's likely.
  5. If i305 merchandise is 65% off, that sounds like a giveaway that it will get a new name. I think they'll try to keep it racing-themed so they don't have to make too many changes to the area around the ride.
  6. ^ I would only want to see Excalibur get RMC'd if they were to add another ~1000 feet of track, otherwise I don't really see the point in doing it.
  7. Correct. And with the proposal to create a new parking lot in the back of the park that would include removing Excalibur nobody can even make a good guess or prediction about what comes next until that project is approved or denied. Just to add to that, it could be awhile before a final determination is made. According to the Army Corps of Engineers permitting process: Currently, timeframes for general permit decisions, those with impacts generally less than 0.5 acres are averaging 85 days. Timeframes for individual permit decisions, which include letters of permission, range from 4 months to more than a year, but are currently averaging around 8 months. If the permit was filed on, or around, April 10th, it seems that December would be a guess as to a determination date for the 4.52 acre proposal affecting the wetlands. So Excalibur could possibly be staying for another year then?
  8. Valleyfair just tweeted out some old concept of the park art from the early 70s courtesy of Dave and Walt, the park's original creators who were there earlier this week. It's interesting to see how the park could have turned out.
  9. ^ The flying scooters were at the park from 1976 to 1979 (not sure why it was short-lived), and it was located in what is now Planet Snoopy. New flyers seem like a good bet for next year since the new parking lot (assuming it gets approved) will cost a lot. From Valleyfair's Facebook page.
  10. ^ There's still plenty of time left for them to announce a new flat ride, waterpark expansion, etc., but I think we can officially rule out a coaster for next year because it's late July and I haven't seen any land clearing or markers that would suggest a coaster .
  11. RMC never fails to amaze me with their creations, and Storm Chaser is no exception. Looks very intense with lots of airtime. Next time I make a long coaster trip, I'll definitely have to make Kentucky Kingdom one of my stops just for this.
  12. ...you consider watching coaster POVs on YouTube for an hour to be quality entertainment.
  13. For me, definitely Top Thill Dragster. Sure, it only lasts for 17 seconds, but what happens in those 17 seconds is pretty amazing.
  14. I'm at the park right now and it's fairly quiet for a Saturday. It's noon and Renegade is running two trains with a short wait.
  15. 1) Banshee 2) Dragon Challenge (Blue) 3) Dragon Challenge (Red) 4) Raptor 5) Batman: The Ride (SFGAm)
  16. True. The person below me is going to an amusement park this weekend.
  17. Is Renegade still running only one train? I'm going to VF tomorrow and if it's still down to one train, I probably won't get many rides on it considering it's a Saturday .
  18. Valleyfair - Shakopee, Minnesota
  19. If a Chance Hyper GT-X is no longer possible, then I feel like the only other coaster possibility for the near future is a GCI wooden coaster (they could use a twister woodie as a contrast their two out-and-backs). Unfortunately, MiA isn't large enough to support anything from B&M or Intamin (maybe something relocated, but not brand-new).
  20. I've seen them run RipTide without the water on cold days, so they shouldn't have a problem with doing that now. On another note, I have a feeling the amphitheater might be on its way out sooner rather than later because I noticed a few markings on the ground near it earlier in the season, and from what I've heard, the Haunt maze that's usually right in front of the amphitheater is moving elsewhere in the park. I could be completely wrong though.
  21. If VF was to get an invert, I would like to see it have a vertical loop, zero-g roll, batwing, corkscrew, and an intense helix near the end. They should put it in the back of the park near Thunder Canyon and the soon-to-be parking lot because they need better attractions in that area. I'm not so sure they should get a wing coaster though because it seems like most people want VF's next coaster to be something intense. I've ridden X-Flight and Gatekeeper, and while they're both fun rides, if you're looking for nonstop wham-bam intensity, you'll probably be disappointed, although I'd take a wing coaster if we got one since beggars can't be choosers.
