  2. I wouldn't worry, there's still plenty of time for them to make an announcement (VF didn't announce Route 76 until the end of September in 2013). Besides, haven't there been markers showing up near the amphitheater recently?
  3. Saw the rumor on Screamscape that Michigan's Adventure might receive Knott's Screamin' Swing next year. Of course, this doesn't confirm anything, but I'd be very happy for MiA if they received it because Screamin' Swings are one of my favorite flat rides. http://www.screamscape.com/html/michigan-s_adventure.htm
  4. I probably won't be able to go to the park on closing day this year, but if by chance I could go, it would be nice to meet some of you.
  5. When I was at Kings Island for two days back in June, the operations were pretty good for the most part, but when I rode Diamondback, the operations were very slow. They were double stacking about 80 percent of the time, which is very surprising considering that B&M hypers are usually capacity monsters. The slow operations could have been caused by several factors, but my guess is that the redundant seatbelts are the main reason for the bad operations.
  6. Invertigo at Kings Island is just terrible. If you want to simulate being in a car wreck, a ride on Invertigo will do the job. There is a ton of headbaning on this ride, and I blame it on the horrible restraints. While I will give it credit for being fairly intense, it's still the worst coaster I've been on so far. If they were to give it new restraints, I might give it another ride, but otherwise, I won't ride this coaster ever again.
  7. ^ I have seen Wild Thing run one train on some Sundays near the end of the season (the park is usually dead those days).
  8. From my experience, on Sunday through Friday, everything starts the day with one train (except Wild Thing, two trains) and the second train will be added on if the line gets to a certain length. On Saturdays, everything runs two trains except Steel Venom (of course) and Excalibur (second train currently not on the track). Wild Thing hardly ever runs three trains, but they don't really need to because it usually results in stacking when they do.
  9. ^ VF doesn't have a set date for a 2016 announcement right now. My guess is that it will either be an out-of-the-blue announcement, or they'll let us know about it the day before since that's how they've done it in the past.
  10. Glad to see another Cedar Fair park getting a Frisbee-style ride. Hopefully they'll put in more these at other parks if this one turns out to be a success.
  11. With Kings Dominion and Canada's Wonderland announcing their 2016 additions today, it seems like a few new possibilities for Valleyfair may have opened up. Canada's Wonderland is opening Skyhawk, a thrilling flat ride that looks like a hybrid of a Zamperla Air Race and TMNT Shell Shock at Nick Universe. Looks like a great ride, and I certainly wouldn't mind seeing one here. Kings Dominion announced Delirium, a Mondial Revolution that appears to be similar to the HUSS Giant Frisbees at Cedar Point and Kings Island. I think one of these would look perfect in the amphitheater's spot (curb appeal) in addition to being a lot of fun. Thoughts?
  12. I'd been expecting Kings Island's waterpark to add the trapdoor waterslides at some point since those are starting to become the norm among waterparks nowadays. The new parking toll booth is also a nice addition because the current ones are pretty small considering how big the park is.
  13. ^ From what I've read, it might take a while for the plans to get approved, so Excaibur could possibly be back next year.
  14. Valleyfair already has a HUSS Top Spin (RipTide), another one isn't necessary. If anything, Thunderhawk's removal means that RipTide might be on its way out sooner or later.
  15. Hopefully they have plans for finally tearing down the amphitheater soon.
  16. I could see Valleyfair having a 40th anniversary celebration next year similar to what Kings Dominion did in 2014. Maybe add a few small flat rides that VF had in the past (Larson Flyers in particular), and refurbish some older rides (Carousel, Enterprise, SuperCat, etc.)
  17. ...when you see the "To-go" sign at a restaurant, it briefly reminds you of the evil Japanese coaster manufacturer.
  18. Valleyfair, sometime in October. Unfortunately, real life will not allow me to visit any parks during the next two months.
  19. Dragon Challenge (Red) at Islands of Adventure.
  20. Wild Thing at Valleyfair, about three hours ago.
  21. I'm in line for Wild Thing at Valleyfair right now, and they just had to E-stop it on the lift hill because someone took out their selfie stick on the ride. Really, humanity?
  22. Here's the construction progress on the new Haunt maze near Mad Mouse. They've still got some decorating to do.
