  1. Friday night will probably be less crowded but I don't think it will be crowded either day. Hersheypark in The Dark generally doesn't get crowds because there are no Halloween events in the park (hanuted houses, walk throughs etc.) except for trick or treating for kids 12 and under.
  2. Nice pictures. Maybe the rules were different for the Dragon Wagon's because they were owned by different operators, if the fair had more than 1 ride company there.
  3. Great pictures. I didn't realize that someone couldn't use electricity or brush your teeth on Yom Kippur even if they were very religious (I just thought it was no driving and not eating all day).
  4. I'll pick one up, once they are in the bargain bin next year, just like every other must have holiday toy.
  5. Wild Mouse at Dorney Park, a little over 4 hours ago.
  6. That sucks you ran into so many problems. I can't believe they wouldn't give you a bag! That issue with Batman and the rain runing clothes happened to someone twice so far this year (their clothes got ruined), so maybe after they got some complaints they now close the ride becuase of that. If someone wants to take the chance and ride, I think they should be able to though and they should have kept it open.
  7. It seems like a lot of people have been having problems with security and picture taking at the park this year: http://www.gadv.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=10351
  8. I think it happens with any interest. A few years ago I used to be obsessed with DDR, playing almost everyday (at home), going onto DDR message boards, downloading videos from tournaments, wishing I was at the arcade becuase it was more fun to play at the arcade then at home etc. After a while I got bored with it. I still play a couple of times a month but I'm not interested in it as much anymore. The new arcade mix got me interested in the game a little more. I think the same thing will eventually happen to the way I feel about coasters (which is now what I think about all day and wishing I was at a park right now rather than sitting at the computer)
  9. I also don't like riding backwards so I could never try this. I can tolerate a little bit of backwards riding like the return trip on a boomerang but that's about it.
  10. Nice pictures, I agree about the forces on Talon. Usually after 6 rides on Talon, I have had enough even though I want to keep riding. I was surprised about the wait on Steel Force that night as well since like you said, the park was dead yet Steel Force's line was down the stairs. I think it's because the entrance is right near the exit to the Fright Zone so a lot of people going through that end up right at Steel Force and decide to ride. I'm hoping the crowds are like that for the rest of the season since I plan to be at the park every weekend until the end of the season.
  11. Wild Izzy/Wild Maus at BGW City Jet at Gillian's Mighty Mouse at Playland's Castaway Cove Dragon at Playland's Castaway Cove Dragon at Boardwalk & Baseball Hercules at Dorney
  12. That lazy river in the hotel looks awesome (for being in a hotel). Much better than the usual standard pools most hotels have.
  13. Nice pictures. I was at Dorney on Saturday at well. It was a great day to be at the park, since it seems like the forecast kept most people away.
  14. Videogames, watch POV's, Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 or homework.
  15. Sounds interesting but I hope they don't mess with the ride by adding stuff from the movie to the ride like they did with Pirates.
  16. It looks like a college campus with all the different buildings. It looks like a nice school.
  17. The mixer has been closed all year at Gillian's (or at least every time I have been there this season). Agreed about Steel Pier and it being ghetto. I'd pick going to Playland and Gillian's anyday over Steel Pier. I can't believe that picture with the dog in the log flume water. Did you find the Flitzer at Playland to be heavily braked? It ruins the ride for me to the point where I won't ride it unless the Python is closed (which happens a lot unfortunately)
  18. If this is any indication of how the 2007 season will be, then it will make me want to visit the park even less next year. I know it's only $5 but it's the principle.
  19. Space Mountain at WDW
  20. DS Lite was released on a Sunday (June 11), so it's legit. Gamecube was also released on a Sunday as well. I think they release it on a weekend so people who want to camp out or stand in line early at the store to get the system can do so without missing work or school. I remember on the night before Gamecube's launch I was coming home from a party that ended at around midnight and drove by Best Buy. It was around 40 degrees out and there were people in sleeping bags camped out in line. I got to Toys R Us at 9:50 a.m. (opened at 10 a.m.) and was #26 in line and got the system no problem
  21. All water rides including the Roller Soaker are closed during the halloween events. I think everything else is open but as it gets closer to the event, HersheyPA.com will put up a full ride list. I don't think any other rides get closed down because unlike other parks that need to staff the actual Halloween actitives, Hershey has none in the park. There is some themeing and decorations and a trick or treat trail for kids but other than that there is nothing like no haunted houses, mazes etc.
  22. It is saved, for now. It reopened around 2 weeks ago (or sometime around then).
  23. Great pictures. That hidden Mickey in the sidewalk was cool.
  24. If they are advertising $85 is less than the price of a 1 day Disney park hopper, I'm almost scared to know what the actual price Disney is charging for that. Edit- I decided to look it up for myself. $112 for a 1 day Disney park hopper?!?! That is ridiculous. I thought Morey's charging $350 for a season's pass was the biggest ripoff in the theme park/amusement industry but I think this is worse.
