  1. High Speed Thrill Coaster at Knoebels was good but I still think Dragon at Dorney Park is the best. It is powered but still has the feel of a non-powered kiddie ride plus insane lateral forces. Did anyone else notice that the height restiction to ride High Speed Thrill Coaster ALONE is 48" whereas it is only 42" for Phoenix and Twister???
  2. Jeff (pkdcoaster), Chris (mforce79), Rob (Chris' brother) and I went to Knoebels and Dorney Park on Saturday and SFGA on Sunday. The weather was beautiful on Saturday but rain cut our trip short on Sunday. I only took pics on Saturday but I'm sure Jeff or Chris will post some from SFGA (feel free to open a new topic). Talon at dusk. Steel Force at sunset. Hydra The coaster graveyard at Dorney w/ Hercules train. I'm sure we have three nearly identical pictures of this train. Haunted House My 100th coaster credit. Flying Turns Flying Turns Test piece on the ground with different sealants on it. Flying Turns
  3. More pics from the trip on Friday. What Jeff does for fun when not riding coasters : ) Jeff pays his final respects... (Drachen Fire footer)
  4. I'm excited they're getting a new coaster too... Busch Gardens doesn't have as many thrill rides as Kings Dominion but when they finally add something they go all out. I'm glad I live close to both and am looking forward to riding Griffon next year!
  5. The plot of land really isn't that big. For those who aren't familiar with the park, you can still see an old map on the park's website http://www.buschgardens.com/bgw/_images/bmap_bgwillbrg.jpg The park has updated the maps in the park but it puts into perspective what kind of land Busch Gardens has to work with.
  6. You can't really see the back of the ride where the second launch is (where the incident occured) from anywhere in the park. There used to be a slightly better view, but now with a huge privacy fence in front of the area leading to Flight of Fear (where the big arch sign used to be), you can't even see the side of the mountain. I was there last Friday and the ride operator at the entrance of Volcano was telling people it would be down for at least a week. We even tried to look from Anaconda's lift, but still couldn't see anything. They had the immediate area in front of Volcano blocked off too (lagoon area, gift shop, etc) so we couldn't get a close shot of the station or 1st launch area either. Hopefully they'll get everything fixed and running soon.
  7. The link to that article has already been posted in this topic, ahecht.
