Kings Dominion (KD) Discussion Thread
yay101 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I actually liked Shockwave when I went to Kings Dominion, so I'm really sad to see it go. Now if that was the Hurler being removed THEN I would be happy . -
Most INTENSE Coaster Moment?
yay101 replied to EuroTre's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Every moment of airtime on SkyRush and Indiana Beach's Double Shot. -
Start with Maverick and Magnum XL-200 if possible, maybe Millennium Force. Probably Wicked Twister too because that is a low capacity ride, but you can hit it up in the morning while everyone else is at GateKeeper. I never had Fast Lane so I'm not the best person for this advice, plus I've only been to Cedar Point twice. You COULD probably squeeze it into one day with Fast Lane Plus, but it's Cedar Point...spend a second day there just for rerides because it's great It's Cedar Point...stay a while For me, front row is without question best for Raptor, Rougarou, and probably Top Thrill Dragster, but Magnum and Blue Streak are definitely rides you would want to go on in the last row. GateKeeper is best I think in the back right out of the three times I rode it, but it's good in the front too because of the flythrough over the gate. I'm also not the best about hotels; I stayed in Breaker's Express when I went which is nice and I think within reason if you're looking for cheaper hotels, plus you get into the park an hour before anyone else and you can knock one or two rides out of the way then. I wouldn't advise staying in Super 8 or Motel 6 - I haven't been to those in Sandusky but we've had some bad experiences with them in the past due to them being dirty and the staff doesn't care and all. Sandusky doesn't have much, just a Kalahari and Great Wolf Lodge (I think), as well as Castaway Bay, and a cool mall if you need to buy something. It's an hour away from Cleveland, two-three hours from Michigan's Adventure (which is small but actually a nice park), and I can't think of anything else. Have fun with your trip - Cedar Point is fabulous!

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread
yay101 replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So I went to Hershey Park for the first time yesterday. Overall, I think SkyRush is my new favourite coaster I rode it four times as well as 11 other coasters there, basically everything except Cocoa Cruiser. Sidewinder vibrated a bit too much for me but otherwise I had no problems with any of the rides, including Wildcat and Lightning Racer. I recommend you go early to ride Storm Runner and Fahrenheit which will develop long lines later in the day, then go to the back of the park to go on on everything there, then work work your way back and end the day with SkyRush. I'll post a more detailed post later with pictures later since I'm busy now. -
Is King's Island Essential?
yay101 replied to sirspud's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't think KI is entirely necessary, but it has classic rides such as The Racer, The Beast, and of course The Bat, so keep them in mind as you make your decision. -
GCI: Are Their Days Over?
yay101 replied to chadster's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
What a coincidence, I'm reading this thread and in a month or so I'm going to Hershey Park, so I'm a bit worried now but hoping for the best I have been on Renegade, but that was in 2008-ish when it was fairly new, and it was good back then, but I don't know about now. I don't think they're over over, but they are definitely shadowed by RMC and even The Gravity Group. I wouldn't retire them just yet because they're still doing stuff in China, and they just built Gold Striker two years ago in America, so we will see. -
Photo TR: Pilgrimage To The Point

Great trip report! I do agree Garfield's Nightmare was kinda weird, and they should probably retheme it to The Old Mill just for nostalgia. I went in 2011 when Pitt Fall was there and not Black Widow, so I can't say if Black Widow is worth going back for, but definitely go back for the Whip, Kangaroo, and Turtle as they were great and rare rides, and also the Bayern Kurve which was phenomenal and a surprise hit in the park for me. I also really liked Aero 360 too, although there are others in existence. I didn't like Ghostwood Estates, it was kind of weird too. But yeah definitely go back as it was a great park. Great photo report though! -

If you ever do a new Coaster Expedition well there's been lots of new quirky music that would fit in: "Gangnam Style" Psy "Uma Thurman" Fall Out Boy "You're So Creepy" Ghosttown "I'm Weird" Ghosttown "All Wrong" The Story So Far "Virus" Martin Garrix "In My Head" Swedish House Mafia "You've Got the Love" Florence+ the Machine "Kids in the Dark" All Time Low "Go Go Go" Sleeping With Sirens "She Looks So Perfect" 5SOS "Elevated" State Champs "TGIF" The Secret Handshake "Right Back At It Again" A Day to Remember "Love Who Loves You Back" Tokio Hotel "Birthday" Katy Perry "Stolen Dance" Milky Chance "I Am the Best" 2NEI These are all random songs and if there is another Coaster Expedition I hope you consider some of these. I love CE and hope there is another

Michigan's Adventure needs needs NEEDS to get a new, major coaster of some sort. If that were so I wouldn't be surprised if they got another used coaster like a Vekoma Boomerang. If it's new it could be a Premier Rides Superman/Sky Scream clone (almost said Tempesto but then I remember OTSRs) an S&S El Loco or Free Spin, or a Gerstlauer Eurofighter or Zierer Wicked/Impulse style coaster.

Quote from HoliBlog, this makes me so happy: "We welcome many Guests from all over the country – and throughout the world – to our Parks every year. Everyone is different, unique and special in their own way. We have, and we will always, respect every single Guest who chooses to spend their day with us, regardless of age, gender, race, sexual orientation, or religious beliefs. Our Guests are giving us something very precious – their time. For that, we owe them our gratitude and fantastic service. We also must respect one another. Everyone has a right to their ideas and opinions and we must always be open to share those with one another."

New Trains for Titan at Space World Japan
yay101 replied to SharkTums's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
When it said "That @$$ float" I laughed so hard I'm happy they're getting new trains just to change it up a bit, but having been on Magnum I really liked the old trains, assuming Titan's was like Magnum's. -

Screaminkid2005's 2013 Coaster Adventures!
yay101 replied to screaminkid2005's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
I still remember watching that one special on Travel Channel about Conneaut Lake Park and how nice the park looked after the renovation, but after seeing this I think the special doctored up the aesthetics of the park a bit for TV and didn't show the bad sides of the park. I know people have discussed this before, but I just thought of it when seeing this post. Anyways, great report!
