  1. CoasterStock at KI in the Spring. Tickets go on sale in January https://www.visitkingsisland.com/events/things-to-do/events-and-promotions/Coasterstock-at-Kings-Island Edit* looks like it's not supposed to be on there, but dates could be May 16 and 17
  2. My mind went straight to my old home park, Kennywood. Don't touch any of them!
  3. I did some major trips this year so I don't think I'll be traveling as much in 2015. Definitely: Universal Islands of Adventure WDW Kings Island Kentucky Kingdom Hopefully: Beech Bend Holiday World Waldameer Carowinds Busch Gardens Tampa
  4. I love both but I would prefer Cedar Point for the coasters. I still prefer thrills right now but I always appreciate great themeing and experience like Disney provides.
  5. Wow that's awesome! More of a reason to get to Japan sometime in the near future! I'm not very familiar with the resort so it might already be there, but in the concept art, does it look like they would be building another castle?
  6. Maybe it's just because I'm a Kentucky fan, but I do not like the all red. It hurts my eyes. or maybe it's the fact that it's an SLC that hurts. I would much rather have red track and black supports. Oh well
  7. My preferences and the ones I've ridden: 1) Invert (Raptor, Banshee, Alpengeist, Afterburn, Great Bear, Batman, Talon) 2) Hyper (Diamondback, AC, Intimidator, Goliath) 3) Floorless (Dominator, Hydra) 4) Flying (Superman SFOG) 5) Wing (Wild Eagle, Gatekeeper) 6) Standup (Georgia Scorcher, Vortex, Mantis) I really want to ride the Dive Coasters, I think they would be my favorite. Hopefully next year!
  8. Hydra, Possessed, Thunderhawk, and Steel Force at Dorney. All on the same day, it was a great day to ride!
  9. I only got to ride Banshee but I really wish I had gone to KK for Lightning Run. It's the top on my list to ride as far as 2014 rides followed by El Loco and Helix.
  10. About two and a half years from 2008-2010 during college when I had no money and didn't live near any parks.
  11. Maybe they're using that new Behr Paint and Primer in one from Home Depot!!! This made me laugh more than it should Mantis looks good so far.
  12. Rock N Roller Coaster - Disney
  13. I loved Steel phantom, I was young when I rode it for the first time which was its final year. To me it was not rough at all, my mom on the other hand hated it. Phantom's Revenge is fun and provides some great airtime, but I was always a little disappointed with the new layout. I thought they could have done something more and/or better. I would take Steel Phantom over Phantom's Revenge.
  14. Colors look great! I'm happy it's not leaving CP and think this conversion is a good move. I always thought the layout was good and I wanted to enjoy Mantis, but the stand-up part just made it unbearable.
  15. Millennium Force back in 2000, it was my first coaster over 100 feet...certainly eased up to it.
  16. I will be making a short trip out to California in mid December for a wedding. I plan on hitting up Knott's and SFMM, what are the lines usually like in December? Thanks!
  17. I would be pretty disappointed if they took Mantis out completely. I really liked the layout, just not the whole standing up part. I guess we'll see later at some point. And as for Vortex and Shockwave, I didn't think Shockwave was all that bad, neither was Skyrider. Vortex at Carowinds was a pretty awful experience though.
  18. My new top ten after riding over 80 new coasters in the past year. I feel like my list can change on a daily basis just depending on how I'm feeling, so here's my take today. Steel 1) I305 2) Maverick 3) Millennium Force 4) Skyrush 5) Diamondback 6) Banshee 7) Apollo's Chariot 8) Top Thrill Dragster 9) Raptor 10) Phantom's Revenge Wood 1) Thunderhead 2) Voyage 3) Phoenix 4) Thunderbolt 5) Twister 6) Jack Rabbit 7) Lightning Racer 8) Thunderhawk 9) Raven 10) Grizzly
  19. PA - Skyrush OH - Maverick IN - Voyage VA - I305 NC - Afterburn GA - Batman The Ride TN - Thunderhead FL - Space Mountain CA - Space Mountain CO - Twister II
  20. This year by far for me: Had new trips to Carowinds, SFOG, KD, Dorney, Hershey, and Knoebels. Return trip to Kings Island 55 new credits 65 total credits Year isn't over yet though, possible trip to SFGam, SFStL, Kentucky Kingdom, or Beech Bend.
  21. Went to the park yesterday, had a great time. It was overcast the entire day and not crowded at all. Banshee was running great, ops were really flying, never waited more than 10 minutes. It still has that rattle especially in the back. Yesterday was the first time that the vest restraints really bothered me. I rode 6 times and by the last one time, the vests really hurt my shoulders. During the ride I didn't notice it as much but just sitting in the station and on the break run was uncomfortable. Rode Racer, Firehawk, Vortex, Backlot, Adventure Express, and Bat once. Beast was also running great, it was really flying through the double helix. Got 4 rides in on Beast. Also got 4 rides in on Diamondback, it is probably my favorite Hyper. Apollo is close but it's been 8 years since I've been on it. Did lunch at Reds Hall of Fame Grille, it was nice to get inside with some air conditioning and just sit. Had the Pulled Pork Sandwich, not the worst I've had but not the best. After lunch went to Boo Blasters and had a lot more fun than I thought I would. Lastly, in the morning when walking by Sling Shot they were selling tickets for $5, I couldn't pass that up! This was my first Sling Shot ride and I really enjoyed it. I don't know if I would want to pay more than $10 for it but it was a lot of fun but not nearly as intense as I thought it might be. Overall, it was a great day and I hopefully will be back before the end of the season.
  22. Pleasant Surprise: Tennessee Tornado - Dollywood - Was not expecting it to be that smooth, loved it! Grizzly - KD - I really enjoyed this, thought I would get rattled to death but I found it pretty comfortable. Thunderhawk - Dorney - Also really enjoyed this, really thought it was smooth, enjoyed the layout too. Had the whole train to myself on one ride. Mindbender - SFOG - It was one of my favorites at the park, very smooth, good forces too. SooperDooperLooper - Loved it, smooth, loved the lap bar restraints. Skyrush - HP - First drop with ejector air half way down, holy crap...did not expect that. Unpleasant: Skyrush - HP - restraints...I need some more fat on my thighs so I can enjoy it more. it's such an intense, awesome ride. Magnum XL-200 - CP - used to love it, now it hurts. Georgia Cyclone - SFOG - wow did that hurt, couldn't wait for that one to be over.
  23. SkyRocket Tennessee Tornado - I was absolutely shocked with how smooth it was. Beast - this year being retracked was awesome! I305 was butter smooth too. Superdooperlooper I could go on, but those are some that really stand out for me.
