  2. I love Skyrush! It probably terrified me more than any other roller coaster I've ever ridden. I didn't go on this trip with TPR, but my family did visit the park in July last year too and Hershey is just amazing. I love Hershey! This is a great trip report! Totally brings back the memories. Don't know if the rumors of Storm Runner getting the I-305 restraints is true, but I would definitely welcome it. Storm Runner is a crazy intense ride but fun as hell. Just great coasters all around in this park. Now my only question is...Is Skyrush my favorite roller coaster? I got three all fighting for the top spot...I-305, Fury 325, and Skyrush...I think it's a tie. They're all just incredible!
  3. I could see how this might be an RMC. Nobody has built one in that region of the country yet. They know it's only a matter of time before Six Flags America gets one. Why not be the first to build in that area? If it uses the terrain and is themed well, it could be a home run for the park. Personally I hope it's RMC...The more the merrier. And maybe, just maybe, BGT might just decide to RMC Gwazi if BGW does in fact build a RMC. One can hope.
  4. March - Dollywood and Alpine Coasters in the Smokys April - Carowinds May - Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens Williamsburg July - Knott's Berry Farm and California's Great America August - Kings Island September - Cedar Point October - Carowinds
  5. Skyrush #1 I-305 #2 El Toro #3 Kingda Ka #4 TTD #5 Intamin just makes crazy intense rides.
  6. This is not a change I can accept. SeaWorld needs to continue to fight. Seems like some people in this thread have been drinking the "Blackfish" kool-aid when you say, "This is a change I can accept".
  7. TR: Went to Carowinds for the first time this year this past weekend for Friday night and all day Saturday...Got my season passes for next year. I paid a lot for Friday night, but got in Saturday night for just $20 bucks. Got in Saturday during the day for free since I got season passes for 2016. I really wish Carowinds didn't separate their Halloween event...I mean theirs isn't any better than Kings Island's or Cedar Point's or Kings Dominion's...So to make you pay extra for it seems like a rip off. But, I won't have to worry about it next year since I'll have passes for it. So moving on...Got to ride Fury 325 for the first time and I was at a crossroads. I didn't want to say it was better than I305 but after 11 times of riding it I have to finally admit, it's the best coaster I ever rode. Better than Millennium Force, better than I305, better than Skyrush, better than any RMC creation I've rode...It's just the best, hands down freaking awesome! B&M definitely has made the best coaster ever, imo. Now, I305 is my #2. I also have to say that I forgot how good Intimidator was. I last rode it back in 2013 and then went on a B&M hyper tour over the next years, riding Goliath's, and Apollo's Chariot's, and Nitro's and Raging Bull's and Diamondback's and so on and so on...And I have to say, Intimidator is a top 3 B&M hyper...Really solid ride. Still love Afterburn, not so much love for Vortex. I know both B&M Stand up Vortex's that Cedar Fair has is really short rides, but I still wouldn't mind seeing them converted like Mantis was. Stand up roller coasters just suck. But moving on...Carowinds on Saturday night was probably the most crowded I've ever seen a Cedar Fair park. It looked like Harry Potter land in Universal Orlando...Couldn't hardly move it was so crowded in some areas. I over heard some of the workers say it was a new attendance record. You really have to get a fast lane and fright lane pass if you want to do everything. Fury 325 stayed over an hour long wait all night. All the haunted mazes were full all night long. It was just insanely crowded. Saturday during the day was really the only time you could get some decent rides in. Nighthawk was a walk on for most the morning if that's telling you anything. So yeah, get the fast passes if you're only going one day this coming weekend cause it'll probably be even more crowded since Halloween falls on Saturday. One last thing, I love the new entrance of Carowinds. Carowinds is probably now my favorite Cedar Fair park that I've been too now that Fury 325 is there.
  8. Don't knock it until you try it is what I say. Some coasters just suck...Plain and simple. Make Ninja at SFOG a VR coaster and have the whole visual experience having an actual Ninja kicking your ass as you go through the course...Now that would make sense! Yay!
  9. This announcement was weak. Kinda like all of Cedar Fair's announcements so far. Well, we still got CGA's, MIA's and Dorney's announcement to go...Maybe they'll shock us...But probably not.
  10. MIA made their announcement. It's the same announcement they make every year. Nothing. I don't think Dorney has made an announcement either.
  11. Go to Valleyfair's website, look under "Things to do" and then click on "Thrill Rides"...It states it right there next to Excalibur in the description.
  12. I just noticed that on the Valleyfair website it says that Excalibur will be closed for the season September 14th. So, I'm putting my money on the announcement for today as a waterpark expansion and 2nd gate addition like Carowinds is getting.
  13. Whoever says being too big or too tall is uncomfortable in the new restraints...Your argument is invalid. I'm 6 '4 and 250 lbs. and I absolutely love the new restraints that B&M does. I also am glad they're doing them on the new 4D fly coasters at Six Flags...Which I thought were very comfortable at SFFT. I don't find any of them uncomfortable at all. I've ridden every wingrider in the USA and not one of them felt uncomfortable. The Banshee restraints feel good too. I say do away with all the old B&M restraints and install new ones.
  14. This will be an awesome addition to the park. Dive Coasters are amazing! I'm glad it's getting the new restraints...I don't know why people don't like them? I mean how can you really enjoy the restraints that Rougarou and Raptor have? I mean they're great rides, but the new Gatekeeper restraints are better, imo. And I don't care about themeing. If it's a great ride and people like it...To hell with the themeing.
  15. Yeah, Splashin' Safari closes at 6, but Mammoth shut down at 5pm and Wildebeest closed at 5:15pm. And they do post signs but do not give a specific time when the lines will be shut down. And then they come over the intercom stating that the rest of the park stays open to 7pm and to "enjoy their rides" but when you get to their other rides, they all have an employee and sign saying "NO RIDE FOR YOU" jk. I understand employees want to go home...But just do the public a favor and state your closing the rides down an hour early when you enter the park or just shut the park down and hour early and keep the lines open that way first time visitors like me aren't sent away with a bad impression of the park. But all of this is just my opinion and just an idea. I don't expect anybody to do what I suggest...They own the park so they're in charge of their own policy and I understand that.
  16. I have been to SFOG, SFGAdv, SFGAm, SFSL, SFOT, and SFFT and none of them have never shut rides down early when I was there...Hell, sometimes they'll be late shutting the lines down. Six Flags and Cedar Fair are really great about leaving the lines open until closing time.
  17. I totally understand and agree. May I suggest you let the park know directly, preferably in a polite (snail mail) letter. It's always good to let them know how you feel about their park (in a nice way, of course); the good and the bad! Every little bit of input helps. They really do read it. Kings Island used to shut down the Beast queue early, many moons ago before Cedar Fair took over. I am going to write the park. Both days I was there, I visited guest relations. The first day was mainly just about finding more info on The Legend. The second day was about shutting the rides down early because I thought when they did it on Saturday, it was just a fluke. But when they did it again on Sunday, I just couldn't believe it and had to say something. And the thing is, I really enjoyed the park...It's really friggin' awesome. My only problem was with closing the rides down early...I've just never seen that before. I get it, it's just a Holiday World thing and I'll have to get over it if I ever visit there again...Which I will of course.
  18. I will just add that the guest relation person who seemed somewhat knowledgeable about the Legend situation seemed to downplay any notion that the Legend would be changed in any way. She made it sound more like it was being fixed, or like it had major problems. So I doubt that it will see any kind of RMC love. And although I still haven't got my trip report ready, I will say that all their wooden coasters were riding pretty rough this weekend. The only enjoyable seat on the Raven was the front seat and The Voyage was just running super slow. So, I'm just under the impression that their wooden coasters all need some much needed attention this off season. I will also add that this is the only park I've ever been to that closes their roller coasters down early before the park actual closes. Mammoth closed down an hour early, Wildebeast closed down 45 minutes early. Voyage, Raven and Thunderbird closed down 30 minutes early. The park was very crowded and it just seemed like they just couldn't wait to close down everything early to move people out as quick as possible. I was not a fan of this. I guess I'm just used to Six Flags and Cedar Fair parks letting you ride all the way up to closing. And although I enjoyed the park, it will probably get another huge attraction to get me to drive 4 hours back to Holiday World. Shutting everything down at 6pm is just disappointing.
  19. i just went to Holiday World yesterday and noticed The Legend was down. I went to guest services and they informed me that it would be down the rest of the season and would return "more amazing" next season...not sure what that meant...Or what's wrong with it but thought I'd share the info. It's my first time to Holiday World so I'm kinda bummed about it. Also I noticed there was a large amount of land beside the Hyena Falls and the Thunderbird that has a long spray painted yellow line marked around the whole plot of land...Maybe something new is going there...I may try to get a pic today. My trip report will come later.
  20. I can see by the amount of posts about this, everyone is excited.
  21. Well, I guess we can all put the waterpark expansion rumor to rest. Looks like Atlanta and Chicago are getting the JL dark rides this year.
  22. Doesn't matter if it was successful or not...Cedar Fair is purging all standup roller coasters. Carowinds will be the last one to go in 2017. We can only hope that Six Flags does the same thing. Standup coasters suck.
  23. Great pics. I was there 5 days and still didn't have enough time to take that many good photos and try to ride everything in the park and waterpark. There is just so much to do at Cedar Point, plus take the time to take amazing photos...It's hard to do. Unless you have fast lane plus of course, which I plan to do next time I visit.
  24. I'm glad they didn't copy Cars Land like a lot of people thought they would. Toy Story Land sounds awesome! I'm sure Hollywood Studios is going to be half shut down while they are building Toy Story and Star Wars...But when it's all done, that place is going to be amazing! I love Star Wars. Universal has nothing on Star Wars. You can add up Harry Potter, Marvel and Transformers and it still doesn't even come close to the awesomeness of Star Wars. I can't wait!
