  1. Those new trains look awesome! I can't believe I'm actually looking forward to riding Ninja...errr...I mean Blue Hawk. I think the work they've done on this coaster will pay off and may actually make this a fun coaster. I can't see them having done all this to this coaster with the whole air force theme and not move the VR to this coaster. It just makes sense after riding the VR DDD. It may not happen this year, but I'd be willing to bet the VR will find a permanent home on Blue Hawk starting the 2017 season. Which will be great news for DDD. On another note, I do hope they do this with other coasters at their other parks. I could see Ninja at SFSL being an option to get new trains, new paint, new theme. That would help that ride out greatly.
  2. You have a point. I do not like Magnum. You don't like I305. But we both like the Beast and that's all that matters.
  3. Maybe because not everyone is the same?? Some people like things that other people don't necessarily like. . . Just like some people may not like things that everyone else seems to like. Also (for what it's worth) I love Beast at KI. Well, you have me listening again...You love the Beast. I mean, how could you not, right? Sorry I called your review garbage. I actually enjoyed your BGW review.
  4. Garbage review. I don't see how anyone doesn't like I305. Not all coasters are about airtime. Take Beast at KI for instance...It's not about airtime, and it's a great ride. Same goes for I305. It's not about airtime...It's about intensity. If you grayed out then it did it's job. It's an intense coaster. Whoever thinks roller coasters only have to have airtime to be good coasters doesn't need to be reviewing roller coasters. Sorry, but your opinion about I305 made the rest of you review hard to read and believe.
  5. Glad to finally read a review on Mako. Sounds fun! I was at SeaWorld in February. I'm so tempted to come back now this year just to ride that one coaster...But it'll probably be next year. It's the only B&M hyper I haven't rode in the US.
  6. Think I'm going to skip a repeat visit to Carowinds this Memorial Day weekend. Probably going to hit Kings Dominion instead. I305 is calling my name. And I definitely need to ride it again to compare it to Fury 325. It's only been a month since I last rode Fury so that should be enough time in between to give a fair judgement. Both coasters are amazing and definitely a #1 and #2 combo whatever order they're in. And I agree with the review above...Carowinds's Intimidator is better than SFGAd's Nitro. Nitro is a good coaster, but it's pretty low on my B&M hyper list. Probably second from the bottom. Raging Bull at SFGAm is the worst.
  7. Well it looked like there was a pandemonium coaster on that picture of Six Flags Dubailand. I hardly doubt they'll build a new one, so maybe it'll be SFFT's coaster that goes over there and SFFT maybe will get a brand new shiny coaster to replace it.
  8. I rode the Windseeker at CP on May 13th. It wasn't open all day, but it was open. What I'm wondering is Skyride ever open? I was there two days and it didn't run once.
  9. I'm wondering what the crowds are like for Carolina Harbor this weekend. It's all new, so I'm guessing insane. We're planning a trip next weekend...I'm guessing it'll be even more insane due to the holiday weekend. Oh joy!
  10. I'll be here in July. Can't wait! But I do have a question if someone here can help me out, please. I'll be visiting both Six Flags Discovery Kingdom and California's Great America there on the same weekend and was wondering which order I should visit each park. I have Friday July 1st and Sunday July 3rd set aside for both parks. I'm thinking Friday for SFDK and Sunday for CGA. I figure SFDK will have the bigger crowd. Sound like a good plan?
  11. I don't think MiA is getting a relocated coaster. In this interview, http://www.latimes.com/travel/themeparks/la-trb-cedar-fair-coasters-20150827-story.html , Matt Ouimet doesn’t see coaster relocations as a viable business model. “If a ride is really popular, you don’t want to take it out,” Ouimet said. “And if it’s not, then it’s probably outlived its longevity anyway.” If Time Warp and Flight Deck are indeed heading out of CW, then it's probably to the scrap yard or being sold. CW is going to get a big new shiny B&M invert while MiA may see a petting farm expansion in the form of a few new goats and lamas.
  12. During the day I think El Toro crushes the Beast. The two coasters don't even belong in the same conversation. It's between an incredible airtime machine and a meandering coaster that doesn't do anything at all. But at night though... the Beast in the front at night is the best roller coaster experience I've ever had on any coaster. I loved El Toro, but it's not too forgiving on big guys like me with a belly. The ejector time is so intense, that lap bar can be very uncomfortable. But that's not the coasters fault, that's mine for being fat...lol. I agree, El Toro is the best during the day, Beast takes the crown at night.
  13. Yeah, I thought the same thing three years ago when I visited both parks...KI totally crushed CP. But after visiting both parks this year, I got to give the nod to CP. With the addition of Valravn, the new totally awesome restraints on Maverick and the conversion of Mantis into Rougarou...CP wins by just having a smorgasbord of coasters to choose from. But I still agree with you on The Beast. There is no wooden coaster that compares to The Beast at night.
  14. No, Morgan hypers (with the exception of Steel Eel) are the most forceless coasters in existence. They're very smooth but as hypers go they're also a bit dull. On Magnum, tighten the seatbelt as much as possible to stop yourself from slamming into the bar. I was never a fan of Magnum until a former ride op on this site shared that trick with us and now I absolutely love the ride. It prevents all thigh crushing and it puts Morgan hypers to shame. Thanks for the trick! Next time I'm at CP, I will try it and give Magnum another shot.
  15. Wow...That didn't last long. It says sold out now. We're coming to Kings Dominion and BGW this summer and this would have helped out a lot. Snooze you lose I guess.
  16. I went to Cedar Point last week and decided to give Magnum another shot after riding it 3 years ago for my first time. And nope, I still hate it. It's just rough as hell and the restraint totally sucks. People talk about Skyrush at Hershey hurting their legs, but I believe Magnum XL is worse than that. I know this coaster is special to a lot of people, but if it ever came to a vote...I'd say tear it down and put up a B&M hyper in its place. And just for those that know that can answer this question, cause I don't and I'm curious cause I have never been on one...Are the restraints on the Morgan Hypers (Seaworld's Steel Eel, Dorney's Steel Force, World's of Fun's Mamba and Valleyfair's Wild Thing) the same as the one's on the Arrow Magnum XL? And are those coasters as rough as Magnum? They all look very similar, that's why I'm asking.
  17. I've rode it about five times and every time I come off asking myself, "Why the hell did I ride that again?" It injured my wife. It's more painful than Ninja at SFOG...and since this is a Carowinds thread, Carolina Cylcone and Carowind's own Vortex is a better ride than KI's Vortex. Just my opinion here, but Vortex is the worst multi looper I've rode. But yeah, I agree...Everyone should ride it at least once to see how much pain they're in after they get off the ride.
  18. They are. The Bat is outstanding, Adventure Express and Backlot Stunt Coaster are excellent family rides and personally I love both Firehawk and Flight of Fear. Racer is a fun little ride too. Invertigo and Vortex are the only bad rides in the bunch, Kings Island has a very solid coaster lineup. They also have Delerium and Drop Tower which are both great and a fun flume. Personally I think the Bat is so good that it's right up there with Beast and Banshee. I disagree with Adventure Express being "excellent". That coaster is crap. I also disagree with Invertigo being a "bad ride". I actually enjoy that ride, when it's running. Kings Island is worth the drive. I make it a point to go to this park every year and I live 6 hours away. Beast is amazing. Diamondback and Banshee are too. I would say The Bat is probably the best suspended coaster I've ridden...A lot better than Iron Dragon at CP. Vortex looks nice, but skip it. Not worth the pain. But the other coasters are worth a ride or two.
  19. RMC's, S&S free spins, star flyers, giant frisbees, JL dark rides, next-gen Enterprises, etc are garbage? I've heard that S&S Free Spins are worse/more intense than Green Lantern at SFMM, So I would consider it Garbage Overall, I'm shocked that Six Flags is improving 2 of their bad coasters in 1 year. SFMM's Revolution and SFOG's Ninja I really hope this is sarcasm. I have only heard that the S&S Freespins are much better than the ZacSpins. I'm not sure where you've heard this. It certaintly wasn't on TPR from someone who has actually ridden it. Also, do you understand that SFMM had Green Lantern modified by adding weight to the bottom of the seats? It's not Intamin's fault the ride sucks. From what I've read, the other ZacSpins actually really good rides. I'm also not sure how Six Flag's trend of improving current rides is bad? Do we really have to go here? Have we not complianed long enough for the improvement of the parks and NOW we are complaining? Lastly, dig below the surface some. Are you familiar with SFSTL's autrocious Ninja, the Vekoma-Arrow frankenstein? The station of the ride is always almost completely empty. How dare Six Flag's leave this low-ridership POS on a valualbe plot of land! We enthusiasts are entitled to a ride to replace the Ninja, are we not? However, I have PERSONALLY talked to the Director of Rides of SFStL (who is pictured in my avatar) and he told me that the Ninja has one of the best riderships in the entire park. It simply has a steady input of riders hourly. Six Flags knows what they are doing. There is a reason for what they have done. Whoever told you that S&S Free Spins is worse than Green Lantern at SFMM is an idiot. Batman at SFFT is an awesome ride and I bet The Joker at SFGAdv will be too. I'd be glad to get a coaster like that at SFOG. I'm also glad that Ninja is being renovated. Yes, it was a crap coaster...But it they fix the trains and the track...I believe it can be a good ride. I for one am optimistic and enjoy what Six Flags is doing. Not thrilled about the long ass waits for the VR stuff, but overall, I can see what Six Flags is doing is a good thing.
  20. I wouldn't buy Flash pass for a Friday visit, but that's just me.
  21. My wife and I are visiting CP this Friday and Saturday. Looks like the park is gonna be full of students with it being Grad nite and student id weekend, so I'm expecting a lot of annoying teens...But hey, to ride Valravn...It's worth it. Hopefully.
