  1. I agree, not a pattern yet...But developing...Maybe. And if Cedar Fair is getting a new B&M somewhere, they've done a good job keeping it quiet. I am curious who's getting this new green B&M tho.
  2. Cedar Fair is developing a pattern here. 2013 - Cedar Point new coaster 2014 - Kings Island new coaster 2015 - Carowinds new coaster 2016 - Cedar Point new coaster 2017 - Kings Island new coaster 2018 - ???Carowinds new coaster??? Although I still think somebody is getting a new B&M next year too. Probably Canada's Wonderland. Anyways, I love GCI's...I'd love to see one at every Cedar Fair park.
  3. According to POV...That shed is pretty long. You can get a good look at it at the beginning of the POV. Looks like the track stays even though...But who knows. The ride looks cool! Just not thrilled with the name. Think I'll just call it "Kings Island's new coaster" instead of that other name.
  4. I was all excited until they named the coaster.
  5. I was all excited until they named the coaster.
  6. This was a fantastic review of your European trip...Looked like a trip of a lifetime. Hoping to get to Europe one of these days. All the fun things shared in this review certainly helps those of us that have never been know where to go and what to do while there. Thanks!
  7. Just rode Goldstriker on the front row...Pretty good coaster...Definitely wasn't expecting that many laterals. I've rode better GCI's, but still a decent coaster.
  8. So Goldstriker is down, worker here said it went down yesterday. But hopeful it'll open today.
  9. You're right normally no problem, but Sunday the 3rd will probably be extremely busy. You'll still be able to ride all the coasters in one day, but the lines will be longer. I'd expect at least 45 for Flight Deck and 60 for Gold Striker (Btw aim for row 6 on Gold Striker if you get the chance). Demon is a bit unpredictable, usually its not too bad but can get out of hand on busy days. Grizzly if you want to ride it is best to get right when it opens - it is notorious for some of the most ridiculous dispatch times (and thus slow moving lines) on the planet. A station wait can be over 30 minutes sometimes. You won't NEED fast lane, but it might be unpleasant without it. Fortunately the station is covered. Grizzly doesn't usually open until at least an hour after the park, they will post a sign outside the queue showing what time it will open. I usually hit Gold Striker first, then maybe Demon, and then if I want to ride Grizzly it's right about time for it to open. Shade, or lack thereof, can be an issue at this park, particularly in the stations. Demon is the only coaster that really has a mostly shaded queue and station. Parts are in the sun, but overall it's pretty cool. Most of Gold Striker's queue is in the open except the station and one section in a tunnel. Vortex is partially shaded in the beginning but the station is open. Flight Deck's queue is partially shaded in the middle when you go through the buildings, but the station is literally an oven. The sun just reflects and amplifies off of the plywood walls and bakes everyone standing in there, it's miserable. The ride itself is awesome though. Despite being one of the first B&M inverts ever built, it's also one of the best running. CGA has taken incredibly great care of it. Back row highly recommended. With the potential for long lines and with how hot it has been lately, sunburn is a legitimate concern. Attached some photos of stations/queues when I was there on a hot day: Thank you...I appreciate this info.
  10. Question: I'm going to the park for the first time this weekend. I have the option of going Friday or Sunday. I was going Friday until I saw that they were offering an hour of ERT Sunday before the park opens for people who bring a coke can that enter the park. That hour of ERT sounds tempting, but something tells me it's going to be super crazy crowded Sunday and that my best bet will be go Friday with smaller crowds. As for the other day, I've reserved that day for California's Great America, so I'm just trying figure out if the hour of ERT will be worth it for SFDK.
  11. I love Apollo. A lot better B&M hyper than some I've rode. Probably the worst two would have to be Nitro and Raging Bull for me. Of course I like all B&M hypers but Apollo would probably be my third fav behind Goliath and Diamondback.
  12. Is SFDK running two trains on The Joker now? It's still not listing Joker on the flash pass on the website. Has anyone see it offered on the pass at the park yet? I'm sure if they do add it though, it'll probably be an additional fee like they're doing at some of their other parks. I swear...Six Flags has the worst pass system...it's so freaking confusing at all their parks.
  13. Great TR so far. It would be super cool if we could see a map of Europe and the route taken on this awesome trip.
  14. I've been loving the TR. One of my life's dreams to go to Europe one day and visit all these awesome places. Thanks for showing it to us Robb.
  15. I know that SFMM opens 10 minutes early for pass holders, but I'm curious if SFDK does to? If so, what line do you go to first? Superman or Joker? I believe Superman costs an extra fee on the pass to ride...I figure hit it first to avoid the extra fee it costs to ride this once. Can anyone give any info on the flash pass regarding the Joker? Is it only available on Platinum, extra fee, etc? Thanks.
  16. Yeah, I think the days of SF spending 20 million on a coaster are over. It seems they are more interested in spending big money on building new parks. Might as well get used to Goliath being the top dog at SFOG. The next coaster will probably only cost half that.
  17. Man, it's going to be weird not seeing the bumper cars there any more. My son and I love those bumper cars. But if SFOG is promising something big, I hope they deliver on it and give us something nice. This has been a recurring thing with Six Flags lately. SFSL, SFOT and SFOG have all removed their bumper cars. What's Six Flags got against bumper cars??
  18. 1. I305 - Kings Dominion 2. Fury 325 - Carowinds 3. Skyrush - Hersheypark 4. Maverick - Cedar Point 5. The Beast at night - Kings Island 6. New Texas Giant - Six Flags Over Texas 7. Kumba - Busch Gardens Tampa 8. Top Thrill Dragster - Cedar Point 9. Goliath - Six Flags Over Georgia 10. Kingda Ka - Six Flags Great Adventure
  19. I love the Boss. I have heard it said that it would cost too much for SF to RMC The Boss. I wouldn't mind it happening, but I'm fine with the Boss remaining as is. SFSL has three excellent woodies...Leave them alone!
  20. I've been thinking about this a little longer and remember seeing a "Pulsar" Mack Shuttle Water Coaster on the rendering for Six Flags Dubailand. Seeing how Six Flags likes to install the same type rides throughout their parks, I could see one of these replacing Splashwater Falls.
  21. Curious question for those who visit this park often...Is this park manageable without a fast lane pass on a Friday in July?
  22. I'd definitely be okay with that concept. Great vid.
  23. Idk they've done more one of a kind RMCs in the last 5 years than anyone. I don't think that's what this is, but Six Flags has proven to be unique and cutting edge in at least that one area! Batman *drops mic*
  24. And maybe, just maybe...We get a new RMC like SFGAm did built from scratch. I'd be okay with that too. Or Premier? Six Flags built two of those in California recently. Sky Rocket II or LSM catapult coaster maybe?
