  1. Yea, I think KK's "dual station" design was flawed from the start. If they used a system like TTD's, things would certainly be improved. However, the staffing issues come into play, there - the rolling block system requires more staffing to work effectively.
  2. I agree. I do recognize that Z:DOD has affected KK's capacity, but I don't know where this "one train per cycle" thing came from. I think it's difficult for them to get three trains off, but I've always seen at least two trains go through a cycle, unless there is a separate issue that prevented it (walk of shame on KK, for example).
  3. The main difference here is that GASM and RT were walk-ons more often than not, whereas KK is a ride that is usually one of the longest in the park, especially after Z:DOD was installed. I was more okay with the roughness on those two coasters because I knew what I was getting and was willing to accept that as a trade-off for the short wait time. I feel bad for people who wait 60, 90, 120 minutes to ride KK and choose to ride from the middle of the train back. Such a large amount of time to dedicate towards a mediocre-to-unpleasant ride. Besides, I think we could all agree that the RT "not-on-its-best-days" (which was pretty much every day prior to its last year of operation) is a LOT worse than KK in the back. My spine certainly has a strong opinion on that.
  4. For me, the launch is actually the smooth part. Once the train hits top speed, that's when the rattling begins. Once the launch is complete, the ride is pretty unbearable in rear seats. If they got the softer Intamin restraints founds on I305 and soon-to-be Maverick, it'd probably improve the experience significantly. But, hey, let's face it, that's not happening.
  5. ^ I would agree that it's the trains, too, but TTD is still vastly superior. KK is a fun ride in the first two cars or so, but the rest isn't worth it. I remember grabbing a seat in the back last year that rattled me so hard it drastically changed my opinion of the ride.
  6. Only missing a couple letters. Some were a hard choice. A - Afterburn (Carowinds) B - Boulder Dash (LC) C - Cyclone (Coney Island) D - Dragon Challenge / Dueling Dragons E - El Toro (SFGAdv) F - Fahrenheit (HP) G - Gatekeeper (CP) H - Hydra (DP) I - Intimidator 305 (KD) J - Jack Rabbit (Kennywood) K - Kumba L - Laser (DP) M - Maverick (CP) N - Nitro (SFGAdv) O - N/A P - Phantom's Revenge (Kennywood) Q - N/A R - Raven (HW) S - Skyrush (HP) T - Top Thrill Dragster (CP) U - N/A V - Voyage (HW) W - Wild One (SFA) X - X-Flight (SFGAm) Y - N/A Z- Zoomerang (LC) *ugh*
  7. I'm not too surprised. The last two times I went this ride broke down while I was in line.
  8. When posting your next update with pictures, can you please make sure you increase the resolution size? It's hard to see the details of your work when the pictures are as small as they have been.
  9. It looks to me like a collection of pictures gathered from a fourth-grade art class who were instructed to draw something about a music theme park. Just awful. Well, at least this is providing us something to laugh at in the offseason.
  10. Easter Sunday is historically a dead-to-somewhat-dead day.
  11. Java Moon is okay, but it's at such a terrible intersection. Rte 537 becomes such a nightmare over there during park season. I always did my best to avoid that part whenever I could because of the high accident rate. Death becomes thee over here.
  12. Yea, I was going to make that point as well but forgot to mention it.
  13. The placement makes sense economically. The higher foot traffic = more people walking past = more people who can get interested in the new ride and pay to ride it.
  14. ^ 6/10. Kinda hard to read.
  15. I was just about to ask the same thing.
  16. It's worth a trip this summer. I can't put my finger on why, but I think it's my favorite park. It's personally not my fav, but it's definitely one of the better parks I've been to. Any park that can offer an experience like a nighttime ride on the Beast in fog and light drizzle instantly ranks pretty high. This was in 2013, too, pre-Banshee, which helps round out the parks offerings even more.
  17. The namtaB trains have typically only run at the past locations for a several-week period, not the full season. There's nothing stopping SFGAdv from running it later in the season after it's session at SFOG has ended.
  18. I'd be happy to tell you! My main sources of income are park entrance tickets, which average round $3000-$4000/month and food/drink/merchandise sales, which total around $1000/month. The rides are free, but I earn a rather negligible sum off ride photos, about $100/month, although that may increase slightly as newer rides are introduced with on ride photo systems (currently there are only two in the park). This further sells it for me. I think your model represents the most realistic income structure for most amusement parks. A "per-ride" structure certainly exists in some cases, but park entrance is still the best way to go when looking for a true representation. Still offers you the ability to thro in an occasional "up-charge" style ride, too!
  19. What's your in-game income sheet look like? I'm curious to know what the primary source of your income is: fixed entrance fee, pay per ride, or some combination of the two. Very creative perspective on this project, I appreciate someone trying to keep things more realistic and placing limitations on gameplay versus just using an unlimited amount of money on a sandbox.
