  1. ^ I grew up watching that movie. When I visited KI in 2013 and saw their log flume, I instantly got the reference and thought it was clever.
  2. ^ Talon's my personal favorite, but Possessed is right up there for me, too.
  3. This just keeps looking better and better. Can't wait to try this out this summer!
  4. Every time I start to get turned off by some negativity or back-and-forth in the SFGAdv thread, a quick stroll through the SFMM thread always reassures me how much worse off it can be...
  5. As someone whose daily job function is to conduct investigations of consumer bank accounts in order to identify patterns of suspicious activity related to potential money laundering or terrorist financing, having only two examples to pull from is not enough to establish a firm pattern or trend (MF & MXL2K is too far in the past to be considered part of the same data set). TL;DR: No.
  6. I'm remaining optimistic about this movie. I enjoy all of the actors in the film (especiailly Helms and Mann), and I think the story continuation makes sense (a full-on remake with Helms as the new Clark would've been terrible). Plus, the writer/director team is the team behind Horrible Bosses, so good pedigree in my book.
  7. I really couldn't care any less what could be coming up next. As long as it's a smart, worthwhile investment that satisfies a current need for the park, I'm game.
  8. Yea, the way I understood it, GAdv management was basically told, look, you're gonna get GL or you're gonna get nothing at all. They actually briefly considering putting it somewhere in the back of the park (over past Skull Mountain), but they quickly realized that wasn't feasible.
  9. This highlights the issue at hand here. Everyone making the "GASM > GL" argument is consistently using their own personal preferences as the main talking point when everyone REALLY should be considering what was best for the park as a whole. As Larry said earlier: I wholeheartedly agree with everything he said. No. One. Rode. It. GASM was old and had a reputation that it would never have been able to shake. Plus, as it aged, maintenance costs would continue to increase. Why would the park continue to invest so much money into a ride that would never again be able to provide a remotely respectable return-on-investment? When GAdv management was given GL, it gave them an opportunity to replace a dying coaster with one they could market as new and provided a unique experience for the GP, thus earning a better ROI.
  10. Present! Same here! Some people just can't face their fear. Here's another! I try to ride whenever I visit, as long as the line is manageable. One of my favorite parts of any ride in the park is the diving curve into the second corkscrew on GL. There's no rational argument for why Green Lantern was not a good replacement for GASM.
  11. Looking good! Glad to see you found a way to get the track to work!
  12. You know we're talking about this Viper (TOGO)... ...and not this one (Arrow), right?
  13. Viper was the first coaster I rode with inversions. I consider myself lucky that I wasn't permanently turned off from coasters thereafter.
  14. GAH posted photos from an extensive trip report from today, and in a couple of the photos you can see the extensive new path through Old Country to alleviate crowds on peak days and Fright Fest. While it's a little strange to fences up in a previously fully open area, it definitely makes sense as a stepping stone until the park is ready to reopen the area full time and is most certainly better than nothing. Here's an example: Courtesy of GAH
  15. It's been reported that security added a "no bag check" section on the right side of the security check. That'll be a major help.
  16. Any word on what path reopened that Ryan was hinting towards a few weeks back?
