  1. Any word on what path reopened that Ryan was hinting towards a few weeks back?
  2. Me too. I even started a new job in Delaware this week (as opposed to my last one in Cherry Hill right by my apartment), so even if we do get out early for Good Friday, there's no chance of driving up to the park for a couple hours like in previous years. Going Sunday, though, so that'll help.
  3. Ditto. Looks nice though! Love the new entrance.
  4. Emphasis on "old", as in "Old Country"? Are you allowed to give any more details?
  5. Here's the official stuff from the meeting, from GAH:
  6. I dug up this topic because as I looked over the latest "Monday" email, I realized why I tend to just haphazardly glance at them, if I don't just delete them altogether. I'm not a big fan of pure "text" emails, especially when there are several links included in the body of the email. I tend to instinctively identify emails looking like that as spam and have to consciously remember to not view these specific emails that way. I tend to prefer a cleaner-looking HTML email with links embedded within images (or even a simple "Click here" instead of a full link). I totally get that amount of time / effort that needs to get allocated to these emails would never realistically accommodate for something like that, especially if most of the target audience is perfectly fine with plain text, but I wanted to still bring it up as another perspective. EDIT: I noticed your comment a couple pages back about your opinions on HTML5 emails, Robb, and I totally get it. I tend to be a more visual person, maybe more than I sometimes need to be.
  7. I wouldn't really classify the park as small. Lake Compounce is small. Elitch Gardens is small. Carowinds isn't the biggest park around, but it's still a decent size.
  8. Unless I305 relocates to Ohio, it's not gonna crack the top 10 in the GTAs. We all know which of those two coaster polls is more reliable, anyway.
  9. Wait a sec... ...the wheels are gonna HIT THE BOLTS?!?!
  10. In the spirit of talking about orange paint, I have made my font color orange.
  11. Yea, all sorts of random people I know who aren't big coaster / park people are sharing the POV of Fury on social media. My girlfriend's family (who are not AT ALL coaster buffs) were talking about this ride even when it was nothing more than a large patch of cleared land. It's. Getting. Buzz. Also, keep in mind that this is being packaged as a major revamp of the park as well, not just a coaster addition. The park will be pretty packed from people returning after years of not visiting to check out the upgrades, too. Hope for the best, plan for the worst, right?
  12. You mean the jackhammering, spine-shattering pain of PTCs on a Gravity Group coaster? I wanted to add my thoughts on the Beast since that came up in the conversation. My first ride on Beast was one of the best coaster experiences I've ever had - nighttime, fog, and a slight drizzle makes for a great time. When we revisited the next day, my ex and I had enough time to ride either Beast or Diamondback before we had to be on the road to get to Holiday World. Based on the ride the night before, we chose Beast. Unfortunately, I'm now well aware of the stark difference between nighttime rides on Beast and daytime rides, and it diminished the coaster a bit for me.
  13. Hahaha, I read both of these Beast books several times when I was a kid. When I rode Beast for the first time in 2013, I jokingly was wondering if I was somehow going to be mysteriously transported back to the past.
  14. I never rode anything that significantly disappointed me as I usually have pretty solid expectations prior to riding something, but If I had to pick something, I'd go with Bizarro at SFNE. I loved the layout of the coaster, but the restraints absolutely ruined any chance I could enjoy the ride. Every single time there was any airtime, my thighs would be screaming in pain. I'm currently losing some weight so hopefully my next rides won't be as bad, but I think my longer legs have me doomed.
  15. QFT. My ex-fiance got her doctorate at University of Maryland, so we would make an annual tripdown to KD with her friends. I was the only coaster geek in the bunch, but every last one of them would keep re-riding I305 with me because it's such an incredible experience. My ex ended up becoming a professor at VCU in Richmond. I didn't follow her and we ended it for a variety of reasons, but in all my "pro/con" lists for moving to Richmond, I305 was one of the very few things in the pro list. Ditto. I've been on far fewer than Robb for sure, but each one, to me, was noticeable. That's not to say it's going to ruin the ride - I definitely wish I got sent to SC for work this year instead of last year, when all of this was just big mounts of dirt when I visited. You know, to check out the new entrance and all.
  16. Nice touch keeping it realistic for Six Flags by building it over a parking lot.
