  1. The only place I saw it was a prompt I got before finalizing my purchases. All I know is what it says. Exhibit A
  2. My ex and I were legitimately laughing at how bad Mean Streak was as we rode it. I warned her about the negative reviews and to not expect too much, but once we hit that trim on the first drop, we couldn't hold it in. Just terrible.
  3. How much farther away is your trip? Any weather predictions more than 72 hours out aren't really anything reliable, so I wouldn't fret too much about it. At any rate, I'd still go through with it. You're always going to experience some potential weather issue at some point during every trip.
  4. Just finished finalizing our reservations for HP next weekend! Staying at Hershey Lodge Friday and Saturday nights with a full day at the park planned for Saturday. It says there's going to be a youth conference there at the same time, too, so I'm just resigning to the park being very crowded. Going to really be maximizing the benefits with the extended preview time the day before and early entry. I'm excited either way, love this place!
  5. When i visited Cedar Point last season i was 260 at 5'11 and a 40 inch waist. I fit on everything except Wicked Twister. Wicked Twister and Drop Tower at Kings Island were the only rides i did not fit. I visited four different parks. Ditto. I think Wicked Twister is the least forgiving roller coaster there. I was the same dimensions as above when I went in 2013 and fit on everything comfortably except Wicked Twister. It wasn't even close - I pulled down the restraint and basically was like "Yea, looks like this'll be a big bag of nope for me".
  6. It was barely funny the first time. Now it's beyond annoying.
  7. You can see the larger (10 inversion) model in this pic. No models currently exist in operation:
  8. The park already has several high-capacity rides - not everything needs to be. Keep in mind that the S&S Free Fly SFFT got this year was one of the most talked about rides across the internet this year, and not just among coaster enthusiasts. Everywhere I looked, my non-coaster friends were sharing related articles or videos of that coaster. Sure, it may not be a people eater like Nitro, but I wouldn't doubt for a second that a similar addition at SFGAdv would be successful, especially if they get the larger model S&S offers. A unique ride experience shouldn't be sacrificed simply because of capacity.
  9. pay to stay on property (Hershey Lodge we found to be very reasonable). Not only do you get free transportation to/from park (ie: no parking fees, and you park free at the Lodge), but guests on property get in THREE hours ahead on the day before your ticket, instead of two. the Restaurants and bars on property were also very good and reasonably priced. On top of that, May/June has some of the best prices available for their on-site locations, easily 50% cheaper than similar days during the rest of the year. I'm actually going to be staying at the Hershey Lodge in two weeks because I had a little extra money set aside from when a planned HoliWood Nights trip fell through, so we decided to make a weekend of it at HP and the Hershey area. Honestly, the difference between the per-day price and what I paid at a budget motel two years ago in the area isn't that much, especially when factoring in the extra benefits you get by staying on-site.
  10. Went to the park today, but picked probably the worst day yet. Park was slammed, full of Catholic youth groups and triathlon runners. Waited almost an hour for El Diablo only for it to break down when I was next to ride. Wandered around for a while to take in some of the changes since I last went a month ago, but I ended up just saying screw it and left. El Diablo looks good in person and seems like a win for the park. Too bad I had bad luck today with it. Oh well, maybe some other time.
  11. Giant giga-looping wooden Aquatrax with lasers. [/endthread4evah]
  12. This is exactly my argument. I'm not denying the evidence for speculation exists (hell, if you read back the last few pages I've been participating in it), but it's irresponsible to say it's been confirmed at this time.
  13. I just want to clarify something. We don't actually KNOW the stadium and grandstand are being removed. A random guy on GAH's forums is basing this off of two random park employees telling him this. Far and away from actual confirmation.
  14. ^ I'm sure with all the drama that NJ environmental groups are creating over the solar farm project, SFGAdv is going to avoid removing as many other trees as possible, especially those nice ones from the middle area of the park.
  15. Ahh, I see. That's kind of cool - when everything is all done, they can unwrap it like a big Christmas present.
  16. Runaway Mine Train @ SFGAdv. First coaster ever. Still enjoy it to this day.
  17. How come they're constructing the coaster still wrapped in plastic? It's interesting, I've never seen that before. LOVE some of the themeing elements. Definitely looks like a place I need to visit should I make it to Europe!
  18. I would love it if they enhance the Lakefront themeing to really bring the pirate vibe out a bit more. Think about it, these are some of the rides already there: - Blackbeard's Lost Treasure Train - Jolly Roger - Swashbuckler - Buccaneer - Skull Mountain I'm usually the first one to dismiss any "wouldn't it be great if the park did..." comments because of their tendency to lack any grasp of reality, but they're already half-way there on this one. All it's really missing is a marquee attraction and a little more cohesiveness and we're in business.
  19. Apparently the entire Lakefront area, from Blackbeard's queue to the other side of the Great Lake Grandstand has ALL underground utility's marked. All around Fort Independence, the Live and Local Stage, and all of the Grandstand.
  20. I didn't mean to imply that it hasn't, just that it's important to use critical thinking when considering the legitmacy of these rumors. Until Screamscape said it yesterday, it was nothing more than wishful thinking among GAdv fans on forums. The discussions came BEFORE he reported the rumor, not after. There have been plenty of times in the past when he reports on rumors first that BECOME discussions, but this isn't the case. Therefore, without anything else to substantiate the claims, I would take it all with several grains of salt. If you want to go ahead and believe that there's a legitimate rumor about it now with supporting evidence behind it based solely that it's on the site, that's fine, but then I've got a bridge to sell you. It happens in media outlets all the time. One source will negligently publish something incorrect (usually unintentionally, but still incorrect nonetheless) and it gets picked up by and reported on by other outlets as "SOURCE reports that..". If everyone then starts reporting it, it becomes more and more widely accepted as truth, even after attempts to correct the misinformation occur. It all goes back to the "Big Lie" German propaganda technique (albeit certainly without all the malice intent of purposefully misleading the public): “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it."
  21. Screamscape. And I'll bet dollars to donuts that Screamscape got it from enthusiasts crossing their fingers and wishing. Yea I know the screamcape guy likes to make things up. I was just answering schotj's question. He doesn't make things up, at least not often (and when he does, he makes it known, ie. "What if..."). He posts rumors that are sent to him (and usually states this), which is what most of his readers would prefer, vs. him trying to decide which rumors to post and which not to. I had a big long post ready to go, then my computer conked out on me. Here's it condensed. Not saying he's making it up either (and not implying that you were perpetrating this either, Genx24), but that this is potential misrepresentation of facts. For example, we're speculating about a Wing coaster because of the survey equipment we're seeing. If he's just reporting our convo as the rumor, he then gives it an aura of legitimacy because of his site's reputation. We then go see him report that a rumor exists about it and start believing it even more, giving weight to something that didn't have anything more than speculation behind it to begin with. If he has OTHER info (an insider, etc) that can support it, great. I don't see anything about it in his post, though. Therefore, it's imperative that people recognize this is what it is, just speculation, and not give any extra weight to it simply because it's on Screamscape now, too.
