  1. ^ Agreed. Kennywood only has six adult coasters. You're paying for it, so don't skip it. Plus it's very fun (back seat recommended!) For Hershey, I stayed at the Motel 6 in New Cumberland South - about a 15 minute drive from the park. $50 a night. Staff was super friendly. As for Skyrush, the restraints are very tight, and the airtime can be borderline painful. If you want to enjoy it, try closer to the rear of the train and ride it like a mechanical bull! There's nothing else like it. For CP, I've been there ten times and all ten times I stayed at the Sandusky/Bayshore KOA. $30 a night if you're into camping. There's a convenience store around the corner where you can get snacks and booze, but they close at 11 I believe. If you're looking to eat out near CP, go for Thirsty Pony - cheap beer, awesome deep dish pizza, and burgers/sandwiches come with fried pickles! While in the park, get there for opening, start with Gatekeeper and work counterclockwise. Be sure to leave Top Thrill for last, you'll see what I mean
  2. Umm...the Morgan hypers all fit in that category. Granted, there's not as much airtime as a B&M or Intamin mega coaster, but there's still quite a bit. Maybe you actually ride Mamba, Steel Force, or Wild Thing before you write them off. ^ Nailed it. Steel Force (which I have actually been on) is very smooth and has great airtime on the bunny hops at the end. Also, with earlier mention of Knott's and Michigan's Adventure, Xcelerator and Shivering Timbers are both world class coasters that are very worthy of headlining a Cedar Fair Park (or any park). It doesn't take a Giga or a B&M hyper to have some good thrills
  3. Magnum XL and Mean Streak both are good bang-for-the-buck coasters when there are short lines and when you sit in the back row.
  4. I have more than I thought: Cyclone - Six Flags NE Disaster Transport - Cedar Point Gwazi - BGT (as of Feb 1st) Rolling Thunder - Six Flags Great Adventure Skyrider - Canada's Wonderland Colossus - Six Flags MM
  5. Similar to the tallest coaster thread, but this time for length! Here are some of mine: 1. Beast 2. Millennium Force 3. California Screamin' 4. Steel Force 5. Dragon Mountain (Marineland)
  6. At CW: 1. Wild Beast 2. Behemoth 3. Vortex 4. Leviathan 5. Dragon Fire At other parks: 1. Magnum XL200 2. Millennium Force 3. Mean Streak 4. Dragster 5. Raptor
  7. I first like to explore new parks within reasonable driving or price limits, then i determine which parks i want to REVISIT and plan out 'combo trips' from that point forward
  8. Easiest way to put it: Best coasters with inversions = B&M Best coasters without inversions = everything else
  9. ^ I think the issue could be related to that historic Canadian-Quebec separatist mentality (i.e. "we are La Ronde, not Six Flags"). I could be wrong, just thinking out loud here.
  10. Fixing the Haunt = more smoke. More smoke makes everything better.
  11. ^ I believe you mean El Toro I won't bug you too much because I have never been on Boulder Dash. Six Flags has done well enough with RMC and that they don't need Gigas as an answer to Gigas. But if Cedar Fair ever catches on to RMC, then Six flags will be in trouble
  12. A bottle of water is more expensive than a bottle of soda
  13. My ranking for each I've been on: 1. Bizarro 2. Ride of Steel - DL 3. Ride of Steel - SFA 4. Skyrush 5. Diamondback 6. Behemoth 7. Nitro 8. Apollo's Chariot 9. Raging Bull 10. Goliath - La Ronde (technically not a hyper, but close enough)
  14. 1. Banshee 2. Montu 3. Alpengeist 4. Chinese Fireball 5. Silver Bullet
  15. ^ That's when you stop and let them walk ahead for a few seconds

  17. My year in review: Pleasant: 1. Six Flags America - This was a last-minute add-on to my spring Hershey Park trip. The staff was super friendly, and has a decent collection of coasters. Batwing and Joker's Jinx were surprisingly fun for me. Having Ride of Steel as the main event didn't hurt either. The only downside was that Wild One was closed for maintenance. 2. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit - Fun coaster with the added bonus of onboard audio. "Rollin'" was pretty fitting for the experience 3. Beast - I knew it was one of the top rated woodies in the world, but I didn't believe it until I rode it. It did a great job of feeling fast in parts that didn't appear so. Only second to Shivering Timbers for favourite CF woodie. Unpleasant: 1. Goliath (SFNE) - Ever see those hand-held plastic clapper-things that sports fans use when cheering on their team?... that was my spine against the seat on this thing. Painful as both f*ck and sh*t combined. 2. Gwazi - Similar situation as above, but not painful... more like an electric shock shooting up your butt. 3. Raging Bull - Whoever called this the "Wandering Steer" is my hero... that sums it up perfectly. Remove even the first trim, it already becomes a good hyper. It just bothers me that the solution is THAT simple. Not asking too much, right?
  18. Leonard Nemoy
  19. New York - Ride of Steel Massachusetts - Bizarro New Jersey - El Toro Maryland - Ride of Steel Virginia - I-305 Pennsylvania - Phantom's Revenge (sorry Skyrush/Phoenix fans) Ohio - Maverick Michigan - Shivering Timbers Illinois - Goliath California - X2 Florida - SheiKra
  20. 2007 - Maverick 2012 - Verbolten 2013 - Gatekeeper 2013 - White Lightning 2014 - Banshee 2014 - Goliath
  21. No 100% coaster achievements to brag about, but I can say that I have been to every major park within a 10 hour driving radius from home (Toronto). Only missing Indiana Beach and Morey's Piers. Looking to push the boundary next year with Carowinds and Holiday World
