  1. ^^ A wingrider would be a perfect compliment to the park, especially a launched one a la Thunderbird. Then they should RMC Minebuster
  2. Caps are in trouble. They blew a 3-1 series lead and now they're going back to NY for game 7. Holtby tried to be as ridiculous as Lundqvist in game 6 but couldn't pull it off
  3. Maybe the new Edmonton GM will have a brain this time. Who knows.
  4. It's difficult to determine which is better overall, but based on current trends, Six Flags seems to be pumping out more product, whereas Cedar Fair is more selective with their spending: New Six Flags rides over last 5 years: 2015 - Wicked Cyclone 2015 - Twisted Colossus 2015 - Batman (SFFT) 2014 - Goliath 2014 - Zumanjaro 2013 - Iron Rattler 2013 - Full Throttle 2012 - X Flight 2012 - Drop of Doom 2011 - New Texas Giant 2011 - Green Lantern (MM) 2011 - Green Lantern (GA) New Cedar Fair rides over last 5 years: 2015 - Fury 325 2014 - Banshee 2014 - Wonder Mountain Guardian 2013 - Gatekeeper 2013 - Goldstriker 2012 - Leviathan 2011 - I-305 2011 - Windseekers
  5. I think the new S&S 4D should deserve a chance as a Six Flags clone, considering they gave the Intamin ZacSpin a shot.
  6. ^ The Oilers have never been in a better position to rebuild. Best case scenario: New coach: Todd McLellan (parted ways with Sharks) New starting goalie: Antti Niemi (UFA) if they offer him a buttload of money Trade: McNugget-Hopkins or Yapukov for a veteran defenseman
  7. Me and my (now) fiancee
  8. ^ My apologies. I interpreted "unranked" as not visited.
  9. ^^ It really is unfortunate, because Shivering Timbers is undoubtedly the best woodie in the CF chain (in my opinion), and they could easily build the park around that ride, if only they could get the funding approved.
  10. ^You forgot Canada's Wonderland as "unranked"
  11. Is anybody going this Sunday for Scotiabank family day?
  12. This year: - Lake Compounce - Holiday World Next Year: - Six Flags Over Texas - Six Flags Fiesta Texas Realistically, that's all I would need to retire happy
  13. ^^ I went there last Friday afternoon around dinner time, and the wait was no more than 20 minutes. Platinum/Gold pass holders also get into the park 30 mins before everyone else (9:30 am) so if you have one, definitely get there early!
  14. Is adding gigas to compliment hypers becoming a trend? No. Is Cedar Fair adding adding large B&Ms becoming a trend? Yes. 2008 - Behemoth 2009 - Diamondback 2010 - Intimidator 2011 - I305 (Intamin) 2012 - Leviathan 2013 - Gatekeeper 2014 - Banshee 2015 - Fury 325 7 out of the last 8 major additions to CF have been a B&M.
  15. My 2015 "preseason" results (DisneyWorld/Carowinds/Dollywood): Pleasant 1. Epcot - Mind. Blown. I could do Test Track and eat in World Showcase every day. Easily my favourite part of Disney World. 2. Tennessee Tornado - The drop through the tunnel gets some good pull in the back seat, and the loops were pretty forceful. 3. Carolina Cyclone - This looked like a run-of-the-mill Arrow looper, but it was surprisingly quick-paced throughout. Honorable mention: Fury 325. I was expecting it to be (too) much like Leviathan, but Fury felt more 'complete' to me, and did a better job of making the little things more satisfying (more/sharper banked turns), plus the added length left less to desire. Awesome ride overall! Unpleasant 1. Thunder Road - I was hoping for some air with its Shivering Timbers-like speed and layout, but barely got any. 2. Nighthawk - Nice and quiet up the lift hill, but very rough during the ride.
  16. Of the ones I've been to (based on overall experience vs. expectations): 1. Cedar Point 2. Knott's Berry Farm 3. King's Island 4. Dorney Park 5. King's Dominion 6. Canada's Wonderland 7. Carowinds 8. Michigan's Adventure
  17. 1. Go camping instead of staying in hotels 2. Eat fast food outside of the parks instead of full service restaurants or anything inside the parks 3. Don't buy alcohol 4. Take lots of photos instead of buying souvenirs 5. Floor it right to the first destination or right home instead of staying an extra night or two out And if you feel like splurging: 6. Choose 4 out of the 5 above.
  18. Phoenix wins of course, but Twister's size and helixes are a perfect compliment for Phoenix's airtime. They would make beautiful babies together
  19. ... "B&M" accidentally slips out when you meant to say "BDSM"
  20. Apollo's Chariot Bizarro Cheetah Hunt Diamondback El Toro Farenheit Goliath (SFGAm) Hydra the Revenge Intimidator 305 Joker's Jinx Kraken Leviathan Maverick Nitro O - Phantom's Revenge Q - Ride of Steel Storm Runner Top Thrill Dragster U - Volcano White Lightning X2 Y - Z -
  21. I just realized that this is the only park where I have ridden more than one coaster that went defunct. R.I.P. Gwazi and Python.
  22. You're not the first person from NC I've heard raving about this place but I have to admit I thought it was terrible. I don't mean to be a New York pizza snob but with very few exceptions pizza just isn't worth getting if you're not in the New York or Chicago (in the U.S.). The only way to pull off Pizza outside of those areas seems to be to do something a little different. The problems is that everyone tries (and fails) to copy New York or Chicago Pizza instead of putting their own twist on it and they can't duplicate it. I don't know why, some people say it's the water... the elevation... whatever, but nobody can duplicate it. The only Pizza I've ever had outside of the New York or Chicago area that I've enjoyed are Grotto Pizza in Delaware (it sucks in Pennsylavnia but it's great in Delaware). They put their own twist on it and it worked out great for them, and Cesari's at Knoebels. Cesari's is very much a NY style pizza but for some reason it's good anyway... probably because the food at Knoebels defies the laws of nature and is always amazing. Are there any good country-fried chicken places anybody would recommend in the Carowinds area?
  23. I'm lucky enough to have a large Paramount park 20 mins up the highway from me. I find the key is to do a quick 2-3 hour drop-in every other weekend. I do roughly half the rides each time I go, and catch the rest the next time. This helps keep the park fresh enough to want to keep going back. My "home away from home" park is Cedar Point. I go there once, maybe twice a year, and it never gets old for me
