  1. I would suggest that Batman the Ride seems to get overlooked amidst all the coaster mayhem at SFMM. Then you go to SF STL and it's a main attraction. Funny how that works.
  2. Just want to second this AND also say I am looking forward to the new flat rides. I have done the flying eagles equivalent at other parks and there is some good fun to be had with the "sail" in order to gain extra height. What some people forget about CW is how good a park it actually is compared to some in North America.....and how "blase" we can get just because it is there and we are used to it. I am originally from the UK...and have been to Alton Towers, Thorpe park and Blackpool pleasure beach. None of those have anything like Leviathan or Behemoth (Pepsi big one is the closest). When I get visitors from the UK one of our tourist things to do is take them to CW.....imagine a roller coaster newbie trying Leviathan for the first time...when the biggest thing they have done is something at the local funfair. There usually are some heavily soiled trousers after a ride! Some of the coaster community seem to forget they are not the only ones who go to theme parks or just because "we" have been on something numerous times or seen it numerous times...does not make it boring in general. My personal opinion at this time is the CF has done an EXCELLENT job with Wonderland, has turned it into a "returnable" park (I have a seasons pass), has two rides that scare British tourists (Leviathan and Behemoth), has added new attractions each year since purchasing from Paramount and overall seems to "care" about the general "fare" paying public. I think criticism at this point in time is not really comparable to the actual state of the park itself. Just my two cents.
  3. I'm just happy to have a large park like CW (or any park for that matter) right in my back yard. And for the record, I think the new flats look pretty neat
  4. On the other hand, you have to give that person some attention in order to bring them back to their senses
  5. Any B&M listed in the Golden Ticket Awards top ten steel list.
  6. Thunder Mountain Rail Road
  7. Burning sensation while urinating
  8. My updated list: - Ontario: Behemoth - Quebec: Goliath - Alberta: Mindbender - New York: Ride of Steel - New Jersey: El Toro - Massachusetts: Bizarro - Maryland: Ride of Steel - Virginia: I-305 - North Carolina: Fury 325 - South Carolina: Intimidator - Tennessee: Thunderhead - Kentucky: Lightning Run - Indiana: Voyage - Missouri: American Thunder - Florida: Sheikra - California: X2 - Illinois: Goliath - Michigan: Shivering Timbers - Ohio: Maverick - Pennsylvania: Phantom's Revenge
  9. From my latest adventure: Pleasant: 1. Lightning Run (KK) - I knew it was going to be good, but HO. LEE. F*CK. Worth the trip alone! 2. Raven (Holiday World) - This was incredibly fast-paced, with some awesome lateral forces and drops. I can definitely see why it was voted best in the world at one time. 3. Screamin' Eagle (SFSTL) - Another quick-paced woodie with some surprisingly decent drops combined with old-school goodness. 4. Ninja (SFSTL) - Really not that rough. What is everybody's problem with this ride? Must be entirely psychosomatic because it's a Vekoma, right? Unpleasant: 1. Cornball Express - It was decent, but nowhere near top 10 or 20 material, as many people spout. 2. Steel Hawg - Neat little ride, just relatively forceless.
  10. My list of roughest B&M's: - Riddler's Revenge - Kumba - Batman the Ride (especially SFMM) - Alpengeist - Raptor Some people see a reason to dislike B&M. I see some kick-ass, revolutionary coasters that have been operating for 20+ years and have earned the right to be a little rough
  11. I-305 with a launch instead of a lift, and kill the trim brake on the second hill. Perfect coaster right there.
  12. My updated list: 1. Beast 2. Fury 325 3. Millennium Force 4. Voyage 5. California Screamin' 6. Steel Force 7. Dragon Mountain (Marineland) 8. Leviathan 9. Mean Streak 10. Ride of Steel / Bizarro
  13. Could we please get a moderator for this thread?

  15. ^ I can agree with the ride being somewhat rattly when ascending after the first drop, but it's nowhere near as rough period as some others I've been on... my fiancee called Wolverine Wildcat the Boobie Bouncer (no complaints either way on my end)
  16. I found a couple more: - Sea World Orlando: Kraken and Manta - Portaventura Park: Shambhala and Dragon Khan
  17. Hershey Park's lineup is fairly unique: three all-original Intamins, three all-original woodies, an all-original B&M invert, AND an all-original Schwarzkopf
  18. I'm so jealous of your weather out there. Pride was cold and wet all weekend in T.O.
  19. It's not always the crews' fault. I went on yesterday and some a$$hole tried to bring his bag on the ride, then asked to put his phone away, THEN asked to have his glasses put away. It screwed up the ride cycle. They really should put these metal containment thingamajigs where you can store your stuff outside the line.
  20. Of the states I've been to: - Ontario: Behemoth - Quebec: Goliath - Alberta: Mindbender - New York: Ride of Steel - New Jersey: El Toro - Massachusetts: Bizarro - Maryland: Ride of Steel - Virginia: I-305 - North Carolina: Fury 325 - South Carolina: Intimidator - Tennessee: Thunderhead - Florida: Sheikra - California: X2 - Illinois: Goliath - Michigan: Shivering Timbers - Ohio: Maverick - Pennsylvania: Phantom's Revenge
  21. I have only 10 rides left on my bucket list: Confirmed 2015/2016: - Boulder Dash - Wicked Cyclone - Voyage - Lightning Run - Full Throttle - Twisted Colossus Possible: - NTaG - IRat Doubtful: - Outlaw Run - Goldstriker
  22. Latest and Greatest: Pleasant: Tempesto I feared everything from the closed-circuit-like wait times to the ho-hum-looking launches on the YouTube POV, but it was AWESOME and the line moved reasonably well (30 mins tops for a week-old NEW coaster). Pleasant/Unpleasant: Verbolten What a little bitch. It broke down THREE times while we were waiting in line, left each time, before coming back and finally getting on the damn thing. But holy hell was it fun, maybe even more than back in 2012. The added brake run and "creaking" audio before that final drop was a neat addition as well
  23. ^ Cedar Fair has not installed any sort of launch coaster since.... Maverick! (2007). However, since 2007, Cedar Fair has installed SEVEN (7) B&M coasters. Based on history, it would be ambitious of us to expect something different any time soon
