  1. I was able to go down to BGT today with Erik Johnson. I'll let the pictures do the talking. Waits were generally short, even for Gwazi, so we were able to get front row rides on Montu and Gwazi (which wasn't that bad). SheiKra had a 10-15 minute wait, but we had Platinum passes, meaning free re-rides on the major rides. We hit all the coasters except Cheetah Chase (which had a long line and I already had the credit) and Congo River Rapids (which gave us a good soaking) Also, SheiKra is partially built over an employee parking lot, so I guess it is considered a parking lot coaster. Here you go Derek Free beer? No thanks More construction for Howl-o-Scream As much of a splash that this ride creates, it is still Dan friendly. Here some more coaster porn, this one of SheiKra I've had it with these mother#$&*ing snakes on this mother$%&*ing pole! You could win a bike, an XBox 360, or a big screen TV, but where's the industrial strength meat slicer? It's almost as much fun as filing papers What happened to the second train? Anyone else think this spells out "Joe"? Time for Scorpion Here is the fabled mist sprayer. Yes it does hurt! Kumba is still running well 13 years later This IS an acceptable amount of water! This isn't an acceptable amount of water Python - Through the tree! Here's some coaster porn for those who enjoy it Is this a sign of things to come? Don't leave me! It was closed, but only for the rain You won't get very wet on THIS flume ride Is this an acceptable amount of water? Guilty as charged! Looks like he's been to too many ACE buffets I found a park map on the floor in the Smokehouse. I can understand paying $2.50 for a Coke, but this is rediculous Here's one for Julie We were on the last train on SheiKra before they closed the ride down due to the rain. We went to the Smokehouse for food. Sideloop! I hope there are Millennium Flyers under the tarp (although most likely it's just wood) The Japanese Cloaking Devices were in use here too. Gwazi actually dueled once or twice (not shown in this picture) Hey Casey, can you throw Ryan in the fountain He's even got his own video Only on TPR Mandatory picture of a donkey's behind No signs of life from Akbar's Adventure Tours. Looks like it will be a haunted house for Howl-o-Scream Another coaster shot No POV. No caption Those Japanese Cloaking Devices have made it to the US Random coaster shot Here's a first: A picture of ME in my trip reports. Maybe it will actually make people read them. I hope we remember where we parked Busch Gardens charges "only" $8 for parking. On the other hand, you don't get poster sized maps either.
  2. I think that G-Force at Drayton Manor is one of the worst offenders. No matter how loose you leave the lap bar, it staples you in with the G-forces. Not as much pain, but it is very uncomfortable.
  3. Casey Derek's Girl (Nicole) Also, don't forget John and his Camera of Doom (the cause for the Stealth breakdown and the Runaway Mine Train crash), Joe (who likes filing papers and Schwarzkopf rides), Joey, and the rest of the gang!
  4. This is great! If you have Ryan, you have got to add Casey too.
  5. I've got a case of insomnia myself, but I've had it since I was very young and some nights (like tonight) are worse than others and I've just ended up "living with it". I don't take drugs, caffeine, alcohol, etc. Tried TV, music, reading, waking up with an alarm clock, getting up once in a while, etc. Sometimes they work, other times they don't. Maybe I have DSPS
  6. When I opened my bank account when I started University, my parents were smart by telling me about credit cards. The bank gave me a standard VISA, which I should "pay off when I use it" and a debit check-card (a debit card with a VISA logo) For credit cards, use when -You know you have the money to pay it off -You need the extra security (if someone steals your credit card, you can get reimbursed. If someone steals your debit card, you might be in trouble) -You're at the front of the line at the supermarket and your debit card doesn't work (in which case, call your bank) -You want to build credit history (which will help with buying a car, house, etc.) -You want to keep track of your transactions (and allow stores to keep your transactions on record, making it easier to return merchandise), although a debit card can do the same thing. Don't open many accounts. Keep one or two accounts. If you have an account you don't use, pay it off and close it, as it will hurt your credit score. Also, don't give your credit card to Robb. I did that once.
  7. He's lost a bit of weight over the years. What do you think? They are members of ECC though.
  8. He's got the Fatty Patch Jacket AND an ACE shirt!
  9. A few theme ideas: Elissa Friendly Food Month Donkey Month Robb Month (why not?) "Ghetto" park month (ie. Fantazyland, Coney Beach, Nara Dreamland, etc.) If anyone is looking for a place to host their images, use Imageshack
  10. I have a Sony MP3-CD player that I haven't used much. I also have a Creative Nomad Jukebox Zen 2.0. It came as a 20gb model and when the hard drive died, I took it out and put the drive from my old laptop (which recently died too) and it works quite nicely with 60gb after re-loading the firmware. I've had it for a little over three years and haven't had any other problems with it (even the battery still works)
  11. It's a nice idea, but the lapbars cut off the circulation in the lower half of your body due to the G-forces produced by the ride. We visited DM during the UK tour http://www.themeparkreview.com/uk2006/draytonmanor/draytonmanor1.htm
  12. There was a topic about this in the Donkeys forum, but now I can't find it. Yes it was Elissa, but it was Ian, one of Elissa's friends.
  13. I'm a fan of B&M seats myself. They sort of "cradle" your body.
  14. Can someone please translate this into English?
  15. Out of curiosity, what sort of camera do you use? Is it a simple point-and-shoot or does it have some advanced features. Also, how fast is the "film". I know that faster "film" will reduce some of the blue (since the shutter isn't open for as long) I did enjoy your TR
  16. I actually have the Escalator Ride music as a ringtone on my cell phone.
  17. You see a castle and say "Oh look, another castle bigger than Disneyland's" You've made the pilgrimage to Liseberg to ride Balder You go to a park and say "That ride has a Sad and Pathetic line" You have a wide angle for your camcorder for one reason Whenever you go somewhere, you make a Photo TR You know that the best attraction at EPCOT is Soren
  18. I've never been into horror films. Maybe when Snakes on a Plane comes out I might change my mind.
  19. Wow. Where are you going to be putting this together? It looks like the living room might be too small.
  20. I'm assuming that Robb dropped the price somewhere down the line. It's $15 for a shirt, or $10 for a shirt if you buy a DVD too.
  21. ^ I need more suggestions for that area. So far I've got the Crystal Beach Cyclone, the inverted woodie, WW Goliath, Balder, and a handful of flat rides.
  22. I've found that the newest version of Firefox has a built in spell checker that automatically checks form fields when posting (similar to MS Word, as opposed to hitting a button on the toolbar). It's currently in beta (it's crashing a lot), but when a stable version is released, it might be an idea to add a link. Newer versions of other browsers may have similar features too.
  23. The park is not dead. Here are some more screenshots If anyone would like to contribute (ie. landscaping, adding a ride), let me know. I've got lots of rides, the the landscaping is minimal at the moment Rides not pictured: Soarin' over Soren Derek's Beer Run (a shuttle coaster with five vertical loops) Sideloop (a small shuttle coaster) Balder Walibi World's Goliath Crystal Beach Cyclone Intamax - Loading in Elissa's themed section, this 390 foot drop Intamin coaster spans from one end of the park to another Golden Arches - A rocket coaster Spanish Deja Vu The Assbruise Slide Splinters - The inverted floorless woodie Here's a ride for Dan. A sugar themed water coaster. Does it count as a credit? Who knows? Even Joe has his own ride. The theme? Filing papers of course! Deja Vu - All over again! There's two so that when one is down, the other side will still be operating (assuming that it hasn't broken down itself) Bench - The Ride! Also Rollback - The Ride Is this an acceptable amount of water? This ride is a work in progress
  24. The next GTA Halo 3 (though I might have to buy a 360) Duke Nukem Forever (if it ever gets done!)
  25. Bobsleds - We haven't seen any new ones in a while (Flying Turns being an exception, which is a novelty in itself) Dueling coasters - We had Twisted Sisters, Gwazi, Dueling Dragons, and Lightning Racer in a span of several years. We haven't had anything since Megaloopers - Nobody builds "standard" multiloopers these days. Colossus at Thorpe is an exception, but it is a novelty in that it has ten inversions Pipeline coasters - Maybe if Arrow had one that works and/or companies other than Togo built them, they might not be as rare as they are. Looping woodies
