  1. I remember seeing that same area in 2000- and feeling like there were ghost around; there is something terrifying and haunting about seeing a ride that brought so much happiness to people simply dying alone. Spooky- and I'm sad to say, a portent for a few parks I know of to come. R.D.
  2. Randal- Those models are -tremendous- all over, and I have to say the Zinger made me so happy to see again- Such a shame it's long gone from WoF. Congratulations on your opening! R.D.
  3. My bad TV habits: 1.) Desperate Housewives 2.) Wipeout (NEVER MISS iT) and... (Shame on me) 3.) Jerry Springer.
  4. I've noticed the same issues myself- but on a different scale. It's part of the transiton to the X86 system changes- and yes, trainers et al will have issues; I do know that quite a few of my older games have all gone 'kaput' with Win7. So much for forward technology. The other big issue is with some of RCT' II's smaller bugs- which trigger randomly. Go figure.
  5. Epic Win. All over. Two thumbs WAY UP for the SFGam Trip report. (BTW: Did ANYBODY actually scream "OH ANTON!" on Whizzer for me? R.D.
  6. The Katapult was a refinement of an earlier Schwarzkopf design: The Shuttle Loop, which was quite popluar for many parks. He refined the original design, and combined it with the recent use of the Friction Design lift that was starting to work it's way into his larger portable coasters for the fairground circuit in Europe The best information on them can be found HERE at Schwarzkopf.Coaster.net As well as HERE at the same site. I can only hope that some park picks up the stored one, and gives it the love that it deserves. R.D. "Certifiably lunatic Schwarzkopf Fanboy."
  7. Hello, and welcome to TPR. A few things you should note before posting: Read the Games Forum Posting Rules HERE In addition, you should be uploading your files, etc. to the Games Exchange- a feature that TPR has. It's easy, it's fast, and it can be done within your post: Click on the tab marked "Game Exchange" below here- it's marked, and follow the instructions to uploading your file. I look forward to seeing new stuff in the future. R.D. Games Forum Moderating Team
  8. I've always said there are 1,000,000 reasons to join TPR. I never said they were GOOD reasons... Congrats TPR on 1,000,000 posts. NOw how long will it take to get to 2,000,000??? R.D.
  9. Just a hint here: Don't use Photobucket for uploading photos- download a photo resizer, and select your resolution to 800x600 or less- Photobucket stops allowing us to see your pictures- and thus, nobody is going to be able to view your progress. You CAN however, upload the pics directly from your computer into your thread- and make them permanently part of your park's history. Thank you, R.D. Games Forum Moderating Team
  10. REMEMBER TO RATE THE ENTRIES! PLEASE!!!! Your votes determine the winner. BUT... If you're caught 'stuffing the box' or 'undermining others' you WILL BE DISQUALIFIED! No exceptions. R.D. Games Forum Moderating Team
  11. The buzz in chat was -overwhelming- I like it- (Literally!) and think it's a positive additon-
  12. Hmmmm- I haven't thought about that so far- but that might be something we do during final voting... Stay Tuned... R.D. Games Forum Moderating Team
  13. OK: did some 'background' work on the NL contest to date: Eight entries- so far- with (what appears) to be around 12 more still to come. All current entries have been 'verified' to be legitimate, and more over, no cheaters/dupe accounts were detected in the current round. I'll keep track of the entries over the weekend for verification; I'm hoping we don't end up with a ton of headaches like the last challenge- which, personally, sucketh big time. CrazyParkManager will be making assorted posts over the weekend to encourage people to play- and to enter their rides... BTW- my BF has 'volunteered' (Read: I volunteered hm- he just doesn't know it yet) to be the face of CPM. Hopefully CMP will be able to push more people into the challenges hence forth.
  14. LOL- You know, I always wondered about the Title Fairy- as I remember being in chat once, and wanting a 'title'- and POOF- 24 hours later, I became the Full Fledged Meat Enthusiast.
  15. Thanks- I'll forward the message from Crazy Park Manager to Ernie-
  16. A.J. did a great job with the other banners, I think. 'me' edit: Robb/Matt- I know the policy on multiple accounts- but I think I'd like to add Crazy Park Manager as a 'member' of TPR for the purpose of promoting TPR Challenges, etc.
  17. Facebook message sent, and notification setup in the thread that Crazy Park Manager wants more entries- and subtle reminders to get moving on the contest. Sorry for being a bit slow: Who do I contact for the Front Page and Twitter again?
  18. Bumping this thread up- as it's good for you, and so easy to do. Subscribe, and a child will stop screaming somewhere.
  19. I got an e-mail today from Crazy Park Manager: "WHERE ARE ALL MY DESIGNS??? I'VE ONLY GOT A HANDFUL OF COASTERS TO LOOK AT! How am I supposed to find the BEST Arrow Vortex style coaster if I don't have more designs? Can you PLEASE encourage these people to get to work? I mean, I'm sitting here with a huge pile of rewards from Mr. Robb Alvey, and I can't wait to give them out to some lucky person- He's given me a Club TPR membership, a shirt, and a TPR Bag of Crap to pass out to the lucky winning design. See if you can get these people moving. C.P.M." OK: REMEMBER- Your design must be submitted by MIDNIGHT MONDAY (Pacific Daylight Time) to qualify for this month's contest. Don't keep Crazy Park Manager waiting. R.D. Games Forum Moderating Team
  20. The new Arrow brake run looks -so- much closer to a real Arrow coaster- it's actually spot-on. The Arrow loop (depending on the year it was built!) would have one of two Arrow structures: The first, is the type you see on the Loch Ness Monster, the Cedar Point Corkscrew and a handful of others- that is, a lattice arch that supports the top of the loop, with four columns underneath (Two on each side) The second loop structure was first featured on the Orient Express, and used on most later models: the four posts underneath, and then a V shaped pair on each side of the loop, joining up midway up the side of the curve. R.D.
  21. Very interesting so far- but I'd consider adapting the Arrow coaster- for two reasons: As was mentioned before, the brake run is -waaaaay- too short. I'd consider flattening it, and let gravity or 'chain' pushing do the trick. The other is a stickler item I have due to my love of both Arrow and Schwarzkopf coasters: Don't mix the two themes. The overhead box-beam type supports were not used on Arrow coasters- only the cheap Chinese knockoffs use the box-beam supports. Whereas, on the other hand, most of Schwarzkopf's loopers featured the box-beam loops. (I know. I hear it now, it's a stickler issue. But that's me.)
  22. Welcome back- It's looking great, and I'm loving the 'natural' feel of your rides in the park... But the colors of the Arrow Corkscrew coaster: A -wee- bit of variation might be nice; that is, I'd consider changing the support structure color to something a bit less 'ground neutral' and to something more vibrant; that is, the green tends to blend into the park's surroundings and terrain. Keep up the good work.
  23. Actually, B.A.B. He is right. When submitting a park for consideration to be added to the VirtuTPR index, you must submit a thread link PLUS three pictures: An overview of the park, plus two 'other' shots of key items you feel are subject to the park's realistic feel. That having been said, I'll allow you to fix your submission- but it must be done by the close of business on Friday, 5/5/11. Right now, the goal is to freshen up the VirtuTPR index and get it ready for showcasing talented RCT II artists. The Golden Peeps will be worked on in the future- but that's still some time off first. As of now, RCT III will not be dealt with- for now. It isn't excluded in the future, but we're really kind of swamped with simply renovating the thread. Fear not, however. I do like there being a lot of people playing RCT III for realism- so it might become a sub-index in the future. R.D. VirtuTPR 'secondary administratior' Games Forum Moderating Team
  24. May I be the first to say it: SixFlags over Swampland. Please, SixFlags. Get with the program. Invest in the parks you're already neglecting, THEN build a new park. "New for 2014: GATOR BITE: THE RIDE!"
  25. An update: VirtuTPR is going OFFICIAL! After seeing this thread recently, it was decided to make the VirtuTPR thread an OFFICIALLY sanctioned part of the Games Exchange and forum. Braztaz is still the Indexmaster here, but now he'll be getting some assistance from the Moderating Team- and over the next month or so, you'll see some major changes to the VirtuTPR index- including updated park listings, and pictures for parks submitted to the exchange. In the future, get ready for the Golden Peep awards: Where your VirtuTPR park can become a showpiece for the exchange- and a title to be held for a year. Let's see some more of your realism parks- and remember to link them into the Games Exchange.
