Track of the week clean up
QueerRudie replied to MayTheGForceBeWithYou's topic in Games Forum Moderators
OK: Now I'm downright angry. I hate to say this, but not ONCE but TWICE have we found duplicate accounts for the purpose of sabotage to the Track of the Week contests. This is ridiculous. A reminder to everyone participating: ADHERE TO THE CODE OF CONDUCT OF TPR or BE PERMANENTLY BANNED. We will not tolerate this- now, next week or ever. R.D. Games Forum Moderating Team -
Ugh... Along the way: I found ANOTHER case of duplicate entries into the system for rigging the contest: sam_aus 121.210.232.90 April 23, 2011, 8:55 pm Update rank (0.5) on Track 1898 Delete sam_aus 121.210.232.90 April 23, 2011, 8:55 pm User Login and auscoasterboy 121.210.232.90 April 23, 2011, 10:01 pm Update rank (5) on Track 1890 Delete auscoasterboy 121.210.232.90 April 23, 2011, 10:01 pm Update rank (0.5) on Track 1898 Delete auscoasterboy 121.210.232.90 April 23, 2011, 10:01 pm Rank () on Track 1898 Delete auscoasterboy 121.210.232.90 April 23, 2011, 10:01 pm User Login what the hell is wrong with people?

Thank you Robb- I don't know why he'd try to do this- and even when caught wouldn't confess, but I guess that's the price for fame- or a Club TPR membership. I'm going to go and clean up his 'voting' in the Exchange now-

TPR's Game Exchange Moderators Thread

He's definitely plagarising... he admitted it (stupidly, might I add) in Chat- Ip address: 24.121.38.219 (19:48:51) rct3geek11: hey guys making ppg (19:49:19) rct3geek11: it is a diffrent version of popcorns (19:49:41) rct3geek11: ppg means paramont paradise garden (19:50:08) rct3geek11: yep a new version of popcorns I'm issuing him a final warning now. I sent him a PM with this information: I'm afraid I have to do this, but you have been warned before about this from another Moderator: Plagarizing another person's park, changing a few things, then calling it your own is NOT allowed under any circumstances. I have found from my own searches that you have done this with another TPR member's park and rides, and you have done it a SECOND time. Do not do this again, or you will be banned from TPR. R.D. OK: I'm pretty sure we've got a person who's created a second account to rank his coasters... Psych/The_Mad_Hatter- I checked in the Admin system for the Exchange- and the clues are all pointing towards a duplicate name/poster as he ranked The Mad Hatter's coaster 5 star... and the other 'leading' ride (Mountain king by sam_aus) .5 stars... just a hunch, I think.

Gotcha. What I'll start doing now as a 'pre planning' phase is reviewing a few of the Loyalty programs I've worked on over the past decade, and see which ones have more 'impact'- From there it should be pretty easy to come up with a FTP/FPP system- although I'm loving the name FasTrack right now (As in: TPR's FasTrack system)

Son of Beast... what hasn't been said about S.O.B. Seeing somebody make an absurd statement about "It's not that bad" (No matter WHERE they are coming from) is one of the -dumbest- things I've ever read. If a ride isn't that bad, then why couldn't it be fixed quickly? If anything, I keep reading that RMT will solve the problem. Not entirely. You still have to deal with trains that were shaking themselves like a wet St. Bernard, structure that was -way- underengineered to begin with, and numerous miscalculations of assumed forces and sizes that were too great to begin with. While I'd love to see S.O.B. reborn, I suspect that you'll be able to walk on it again someday- as S.O.B. brand Mulch for gardens and pathways. The number of changes that have been mentioned (and noticed, for that matter) by our members and those of others is staggering. And each one of the changes to S.o.B. will cost big $$$$- and if you add them all together, I'd put a pretty healthy guess that it's New ride/Coaster vs. S.O.B Renovation. Which do you think a park is going to do first? "Here's our old coaster, but it's better now" or "Look at our new coaster!" R.D. -
Done- I'm working with Braztaz on revising it, and I'll be modifying the thread to be more TPR friendly visually over the next week or so; I figure we can do a more 'formal' announcement of it on Monday, 2 May 2011.

Scandinavia Park [RCT 2]
QueerRudie replied to Gerstlauer1's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
^ A bit of history lesson... While Intamin didn't have the Megalites, they DID have box track... Remember, Intamin Box track is Schwarzkopf's original 'heartline' box track design from the 1970s (See also: SFOG Mindbender and SFOT ShockWave). They rejuvinated the system in the late 90s when they began to develop coasters such as Millenim, their suspended looping/LSM shuttle coasters and simply 'upgauged' the pipe-rails to do so. So you are partly correct- yes, they didn't have the Megalite... but they did have the box track systems. Gerst- your park is looking phenominal all over- Possibly one of the best I've seen done here in a long time. Given the date, time and location, it would NOT be inconciveable that your park has a 'used' Schwarzkopf Shuttle Loop coaster... If you'd like one, check in the Games Exchange... I know I've added one called "American Revolution" that is ready-built for you to install without having to do too much work on it- R.D. Games Forum Moderating Team -
I was thinking about this a bit as this is pretty much what I'm doing right now for a mAAjor AAirline's Frequent Flyer Program- While we have a few stalwart players who play all three, we have a a lot who only play each individual one. If we want to encourage each different type, we need to be able to make sure to keep them 'enticed' with the idea that the more they play, the more they can get. At the same time, we should aslo not give away the bank, at least directly. For most FFP systems, you have 'tiers' of benefits (Robb, I know you're a SkyTeam on this one- guessing from the amount of travel you do- I'd figure you're at least 'gold' status)- That is, the more you use the airline, the better the benefits one can get. Something like that for the TPR Exchange could be just as practical here as it is there; granted, we need to be able to do this using the resources we have now. For the TotW contest, for example: To gain 'Silver' level TPR Exchange status, you need to submit XX number of tracks, For 'gold' status, XX number of tracks, for 'platinum' status, XX number of tracks- To get the better 'prizes' (TPR Bag of Crap, a T-shirt, Club TPR membership) you need XX number of tracks, and XX number of wins for each level up in the TPR FPP (Freqent Player Program). You can either keep playing more, and gaining more to reach the next tier in the system (I.E. "I know I've got Silver status, and a TPR bag of Crap, but I think i'd like to keep adding more, so I can gain Gold status, and a TpR shirt") For our best 'players' they could earn things like the Club TPR membership- if they meet the right eligibility levels. Using a FPP program along with the TotW Contest- and the TPR Challenges could boost our use signifigantly- as well as drive additional traffic through the contests as well. I could develop this easily- I've got four 'prototypes' systems that require little effort to work with (Most of the recordkeeping could be -easily- done by us using a simple spreadsheet via the Moderator's control panel) and could be started in as little as a week to make it marketable- and usable as well. "Join FastTRACK: TPR's Frequent Player Program. Play the TotW contest, Play the TPR challenges, submit your tracks... and get some GREAT TPR STUFF" R.D. "I knew working with airlines would work out here someday" Sussmann

Scandinavia Park [RCT 2]
QueerRudie replied to Gerstlauer1's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
this park is looking more and more amazing all over- the new Inty fits so nicely- and has that 'real' feel done right! -
Actually, Robb- that's a really smart idea, I think. A "Frequent Winner" program for bigger prizes, like the Airlines and Carnivals do- Perhaps even extending that to the Exchange in the future might also be a winner, too- "Four wins in the ToTW contest= X amount of credit at the TPR store- for Club TPR membership/T-Shirts/etc.

SoCalCoasters Visits Train Town!

That's interesting to see someplace I've been by several times- but never been into before. Perhaps I can convince the BF to stop there sometime! -
Greetings from San Francisco- I've had a few people ask questions about the VirtuTPR thread that Brataz has been promoting/working on recently, and i'm curious to a few ideas that have been presented: 1.) One member asked if it could be made more 'official'/organized' for the site. 2.) Is there a way to allow for it to become a 'showpiece' for TPR? 3.) Is it fair/balanced for all players of that aspect? My thoughts on it are this: 1.) We should turn it into an 'Official" TPR thread/theme/item and use it to showcase the best of the scenery developers/realistic developers of RCT II's best creators 2.) Ideals should be standardized, and the rules revised a bit to make it more clear for all people wanting into it 3.) We could use it to promote the Realism developers out there, and give them a chance to show things off on TPR- While I personally don't use the Realism aspects of RCT II myself, it might be a good outlet for our creative players- and this would boost people using the Exchange. R.D.

So far, yes- quite a bit more turnout than I'd had expected- but the Club TPR membership has drawn the crowds out in force-

WHOOT! Even though I'm back in SF for the weekend, I'll be using the net to hear the game. Feel for my BF in this one. It was quite a treat in October 2009; He showed up where I was working, with my suitcase, and took me to DL for my Birthday... totally a surprise, and it was great. And... Getting to ride the Matterhorn Bobsleds with those cool-ass cars that allow you to 'canoodle' up the lift hill was a big bonus, too. BTW: I've got him up to most non-looping, non-spinning rides so far. But then again, I don't spin. At all. I got queasy on the Teacups!

The link to the Patriot news website: CLICK HERE I'm starting to think they might be getting ready to throw us for a big turn here- we already know some of the basics- but considering HP's done this in the past, I'm guessing we are going to be in for one hell of a puzzle.
