  1. The track is wider along the corkscrews than the rest of the track to provide room for the trains to move, so if a new modern conforming wheel base were to be put on Corkscrew, the only benefit it would have would be having lap bars. It's probably only happened on Schwarzkopfs because the track-to-wheel base spacing is much tighter on Schwarzkopfs than on Arrows. As much as I'd like it to happen, it's not really worth the trouble it would generate. Besides, Corkscrew has been running great recently and it looks great as is.
  2. ^The video was choppy for me, but at least it was good to see the train running at near-full speed again. I didn't expect the view from the top of the lift to be that good!
  3. I have some quick tips for you. Apocalypse and Colossus in the backseat are fantastic! Avoid the Goliath food court. It's gross. Eat outside the park if you can. Hit Tatsu first, then X2 in the late afternoon. Front seat or nothing on Riddler's Revenge, Batman: The Ride, and Ninja (but only if it has 2 trains). Avoid Green Lantern if you don't want a painful ride. Tatsu's 3rd row is the best.
  4. ^That last shot is great; almost looks like it's covered in greenery. Even so, I'm a little surprised this passed the infamous Alton Height Restriction.
  5. Yes, but only if it becomes an Aquatrax. Silver Bullet painted... Silver?
  6. Granted, but there was a "t" in there. Syntax error. Commencing system shutdown. I wish that TPR's website would stop having obnoxious advertisements.
  7. Granted, but you soon find your interest turning towards 80's Vekomas. I with that Arrow was still making roller coasters.
  8. ^Those long exposure pictures are absolutely amazing. I love how vibrant that first one is. How heavily do you edit them after taking?
  9. ^Very well, that makes sense. The only exception I can think of though is that Knott's seems to be a park to get things "early", I.E. Xcelerator, Montezooma's, etc., but at least Ghostrider can stand a few more years to see how Outlaw Run ages. I'll keep the date 2015 in mind. A little off topic, but I think I've found the "Magic Seat" for Silver Bullet and I want to see if anybody else thinks this is the right one. I haven't been on the ride enough to ride in every seat, but someone else can certainly continue my experiment. Next time somebody is in the park, get in the 7th row on the far right of Silver Bullet and tell me if you think it's the best seat on the ride. From what I can tell, it's the perfect combination of floater air, positive Gs, consistent laterals, and smoothness.
  10. ^^Honestly, those kinds of videos make me a little sick. It doesn't show enough of the actual ride to give us an idea of how the ride runs. I really prefer the way Robb does it, which is why I can't wait for the next TPR trip through England.
  11. ^I love that last long exposure one. The color balance got a little bugged up towards the bottom, but I still really like this one shot "up the skirt" of a Ferris Wheel.
  12. Then a black hole would open up and all of time and space would be demolished by it. What if Arrow Dynamics were still in business?
  13. Looks like tons of speed throughout. It may not be as smooth as it could have been, but I'm sure that it's going to be one of the best 2013 coasters; maybe even the best. Those two airtime hills look like they took her by surprise. Looking forward to a proper POV soon.
  14. I'm honestly a little worried about the Kickstarter not making it, so I'm trying to spread the word to everybody I know. I'm planning on donating $50 myself. SOMEWHAT IMPORTANT EDIT: I took a sample in the last hour and found that 140 more dollars were donated. If we keep this up, by the time the 9 days are over, $26,880 more dollars will be added. This is more than enough to let it pass Kickstarter, so I'm not as worried now.
  15. Having a busy creation in RCT is a reason to love it more for me. Which is why I made this.
  16. ^I'm a little bit baffled at how that "destroys" a picture of Snoop Dogg. Oh well. How about an actually scrapped coaster?
  17. Soccer... I mean football. EA or Activision?
  18. ^I love it! I really don't understand where your complaints come from, because I think it adds a lot to the theme and mood of the ride as a whole. Edit: Wow, this was the 600,000th post on the "Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!" forum.
  19. ^^Sure it may not be as insane as the 2009 season, but this season is pretty decent too. ...If you're into gimmicky record breakers. Which I am.
  20. Journey to Atlantis at Sea World San Diego. Half-assed theming, bumpy coaster section, terrible capacity, terrible restraint design, terrible soundtrack, terrible pacing, and the only good part of the ride is the first drop. Not to mention it still looks like it's under construction.
  21. Carowinds getting a Premier launched coaster. They could use one. Ghostrider getting topper track or Ghostrider getting an Iron Horse makeover?
  22. I have too many to just post one. Some of mine: -Gaming (On my TF2 fix right now) -Music (Especially bass guitar and FL Studio) -Photography -Roller coaster stuff (I use this forum, there's no reason not to mention this)
  23. I have a couple more to add to this from recent trips. Pleasant: -Ghostrider (Knott's): I came into this knowing it would be bumpy, and with it standing at my second lowest spot of favorite coaster (only beaten by Journey to Atlantis), I wasn't expecting it to redeem itself. A single ride and some defensive riding later, I ended up really liking the way the bumpiness actually added to the intensity. I rode it a few times more and it managed to get out of my bottom ten. -Sierra Sidewinder (Knott's): I forgot what this ride was like. I was expecting a simple, short, and rattly spinning coaster, but this ended up being one of my favorite rides of the trip due to it's insane smoothness and great layout. Unpleasant: -Boomerang (Knott's): I completely forgot how bumpy this ride was. I need not say more. This sucker is no longer on my top 50. -Xcelerator (Knott's): I went to Knott's again with great memories of Xcelerator's launch and top hat, and although those delivered, the rest of the ride was just lackluster. The overbanks were redundant and forceless, it was really rattly, only one train operation, and the brake run just hurts if you're not ready for it. Granted, I was ready for it the next lap and it was better, but Montezooma's Revenge and Silver Bullet were much better. Maybe it was amazing when it first opened, but other than that, I have no idea why this ride is "The best roller coaster in California" as considered by many on this site. -Pony Express (Knott's): The ride is great, but the operations are terrible and the brake run doesn't want you to breathe.
