  1. ^ Ten bucks says that those boxes didn't just have lighting in them. It's probably a sound system, too.
  2. ^Almost forgot about that area. I was really hoping a Huss Frisbee would show up in that spot (perfect size and dimensions), but it looks like it's going to be dormant for another couple of years. My guess is that it might turn into a Eurofighter or a Gerslauer Spinner.
  3. ^Those look intense. I really wish more parks would get slide towers like this one.
  4. Almost sounds like a random ad campaign that has nothing to do with the storyline. It's seriously great to see that Alton is getting the word out, though.
  5. ^ Congratulations, you've managed to make me want to ride Gold Striker even more now. Great video.
  6. I never thought of this before! Both VF and CGA are owned by Cedar Fair, so it wouldn't be impossible. Even I admit that VF needs a true invert; Steel Venom isn't going to cut it for much longer. I always thought that VF could use an SLC, but I'm definitely going to add this to my speculations. And about the waterpark expansion (even though IMHO I don't think they even need one; a simple flat or two could take the place of Starship and the theater), I know it's got a high chance of happening, but nobody has seemed to make any predictions of what the expansion is going to consist of. Throwing out a possible scenario for the moment, here's what I think is going to happen: If the theater gets removed and Starship doesn't, I could easily see a tower of 2-3 tube slides opening up like the ones above. Pictured is the tube slide complex in Big Surf in Tempe, AZ. If both the theater and Starship are removed, I could see not only the tube slide tower being added, but I could also see a much improved kids area being installed, like the ones at Knott's and Cedar Point's Soak City parks. If not one this size, at least one a little bit smaller. Pictured is the children's slide complex at Knott's Soak City.
  7. Reminds me a lot of SWSD's Manta. Twisty, well themed, family friendly and a whole lot of fun. Nice pictures and video; I can't wait to see how well this ranks on next years Mitch Hawker's Steel Poll.
  8. Granted, but it turns out it didn't need it in the first place and Darien Lake goes completely bankrupt. I wish that more Electro Swing existed.
  9. It would have to officially be my #1 favorite roller coaster of all time. What if B&M went bankrupt?
  10. One of the youtube comments said: I think we have a rumored opening day. This sounds pretty reasonable to me.
  11. The enthusiast count sounds about right, but the lines are most definitely not. Try somewhere around 50-70 minute lines, keeping in mind not only the camera setups, but also the inexperienced ride ops.
  12. Even if neither are true, there's always going to be a way to spot them. I know that they won't be on the track for another few days, but at the very least they're going to be within a few hundred feet of the park's boundaries.
  13. ...I actually support this. I would really like to see GhostRider with a couple backwards cars or (dare I say it) one or two of the cars on Coast Rider turned around. Too bad it's not going to happen. In related news, what's the condition of Coast Rider and the two flats?
  14. Is anybody going to SFMM today or tomorrow? I'm really looking forward to seeing what the trains look like.
  15. Looks fantastic! I can't wait to ride this beast. I really hope it out-does Apocalypse and Renegade for me. You've been on both; how smooth is it compared to Apocalypse?
  16. ^Allow me to restate that. *Mark my words, it's pretty much the only place they can fit another record-breaking triple-launched ultra-forceful yet still overhyped Six-Flags branded coaster. SFMM is never going to get to the level of compact quality that Grona Lund mastered, especially with the "GO BIG OR GO HOME" mentality of their general public audience.
  17. Knowing SFMM, this probably isn't very hard to guess: "MOAR KOSTRZ" ...In another year at the very least. Mark my words, it's pretty much the only place they can fit another coaster. I'm a little disappointed about FT's station so far. Forgive me for the comparison to CP once again, but the station really looks like it's going to be a lot like Gatekeepers: Bland and unoriginal. Looking forward to the track, not the ride as a whole.
  18. ...And Walabi's Goliath, Alton's Rita, Heidi's Desert Race and Colossos, Liseberg's Balder... The list really does go on way further than that and I'm a little bit surprised anybody could overlook many great coasters for just one. Expedition GeForce, while it may be great, isn't the only Intamin in Europe, let alone the only good one.
  19. I don't know what you're talking about; Skyrush was a major hit.
  20. I shouldn't be laughing at this but I am. One notable one for me was an awkward ride on Xcelerator at Knott's on my last trip where I was lucky enough to catch a ride... In the front seat... Entirely alone. I didn't know how to react to having 5 ride operators and 1 rider. It came across to me as just plain painfully awkward.
  21. I laughed way harder than I should have at the photo from ToT. Great shots from SFMM, too! I'm loving these "Artsy Trip Reports". Keep them coming!
  22. Dueling Dragons and Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls. Both take about ten minutes just to walk through without waiting. Too long in my opinion.
  23. ...Then they might actually be able to market it well finally. What if Bioshock Infinite actually sucked?
