  1. ^I actually am too. I loved that too, but honestly, it's not really on my list of "top moments". ^^Stop rubbing it in my face that I haven't ridden El Toro.
  2. ^Don't complain about it just yet. While it could use a moving station similar to the one on Rip Ride Rockit or Haunted Mansion, this ride is still a prototype and is a fantastic improvement on the original design. This is absolutely brilliant! This certainly fixes loads of problems with traditional Ferris Wheels. ...But I can't help but point out that it was made by an art studio. Do you suppose it will really be built?
  3. I know for a fact that several of you not only count the number of credits (different rides) you've been on, but some of you count the number of ride cycles you've ridden on a single ride. I want to know: What flat rides, water rides, or roller coasters have you ridden the most? Mine's a flat ride at Castles n' Coasters falled Free Fall. I've been on this Moser Spring a total of 64 ride cycles, or 320 drops. What are yours?
  4. It does if you plan it out. If you want an intense ride, get into groups of three. Unbalanced trains give you one hell of a ride.
  5. Although the "coathanger" thing is true (he had several bendable wires in his workspace to help visualize the coaster in 3d space), all of Arrow's coasters after 1989 were computer made (they made 48 coasters like this, almost half). Magnum was the last of its kind.
  6. ^^This guy knows what I mean. Try to include pictures of said moment if possible.
  7. Ghostrider and Xcelerator are pretty far away (being on opposite ends of the park), so I could see how that could get mixed up due to Ghostrider's first drop lasting much longer and giving the illusion of being taller. But "YOLO" on Jaguar?
  8. Have you ever been on a roller coaster and came across a point in the ride that completely blew you away (and maybe you didn't even expect it too)? I've heard many enthusiasts call these their "Favorite Coaster Moments", and most notably, TheCoasterCritic has somewhat coined this term. I hadn't ever seen a thread like this on TPR, so I want to ask you guys: What have been your favorite coaster moments? I'll start: Terminator Salvation: The Ride's Catapult-like First Drop Sitting in the backseat of this ride gives you some wicked airtime on the first drop, and riding this thing at night adds to it. This was the highlight of my last trip to SFMM. X2's Backflip Floater Hill I'm certain that if anybody else includes X2 on their top moments list, they may go straight for the main drop, and blaze straight over my favorite part of the ride: The floater hill that rotates the seats backwards while the track is upside down, meaning you do a euphoric backflip and get a sensation unachievable on nearly any other coaster. Magnum XL-200's Ridiculously Long Floater Hill If you know what I look for in a coaster, you know that I love sustained floater airtime. I have yet to go on a hill with as much airtime as this one, clocking in at nearly 3.5 seconds of sustained weightlessness, not to mention it has a great view of Lake Eire while you're at it. Riddler's Revenge's Unexpected Stengel Dive It's a Stengel Dive on a Standup. What more should I say? There's a really interesting and forceful movement the train does at this part that feels great in a standing position. Think of it as sideways airtime. Silver Bullet's Overbank An unexpected but welcome addition to the line of elements available on a B&M, Silver Bullet's overbank feels like an inversion, but with a super smooth execution and a bit of airtime on the way back down. Post yours here! I've heard that popular ones include Voyage's triple down, Skyrush's final ejector hill, X-Flight's in-line roll, and several others.
  9. I got one more great shot from Knott's for you: The infamous "TEH PONE EKSPRES RIED" Zamperla "moto"coaster. Even though you can't breathe on this thing, it still really is photogenic... Just like every other coaster at Knott's. Again, let me know what you think.
  10. This is me two weeks ago getting my first Frog Hopper credit at KBF... And I'm 6'6".
  11. ^But... Original IPs... ^^Smart move not including Bioshock 2. Thanks for finding those.
  12. My Fujifilm Finepix Z. I would bring my better camera (my Olympus E-500), but it's ridiculously expensive and I don't trust myself to bring it to an amusement park. Thanks for the feedback, guys!
  13. ^Wow. This thing looks like it could be as disorienting as X2. I can't wait to hear the GP's opinion on this!
  14. I really wish I could bring my better camera into amusement parks, but I've gotten some great amusement park shots with my Fujifilm Finepix Z. Here are some of my favorites (edited in Photoshop), let me know what you think: Scream at Six Flags Magic Mountain with a desaturated sky background. First roller coaster photo I was ever actually proud of. Xcelerator at Knott's. What else can I say? Gotta love those B&M Inverted rolls. Riddler's Revenge at SFMM with even more grittiness than you remember it having.
  15. There should legally be no other way to eat it.
  16. ^I'm guessing then you really like inverts like Silver Bullet and Afterburn?
  17. Not really a trip update, but two weeks ago when I went to Knott's (being a photography student), I took some artsy shots and brought them back to Photoshop for some editing. Let me know what you think. The second overbank of Xcelerator. It was overcast the day that I shot this, so editing in the blue sky was actually pretty hard to do. None of them are really titled in case you're wondering. Yeah, in case you couldn't guess, most of my pictures are going to be of Xcelerator. I took loads of Silver Bullet as well, but I actually think (despite SB being a B&M) that Xcelerator is more photogenic for some reason. Only one train was running the day I took these, so I'm actually really proud that I got this one on the first try. My favorite shot of the trip, this was the only one that I didn't actually have to edit in the blue sky myself. I actually have a name for this one, it's "Windspeed". I would have more of Silver Bullet, but it's so hard to get the colors of the track "right". I still love this one; I think it captures the gloriously funky nature of the Inverted Zero-G rolls. Again, please, let me know what you think.
  18. The picture my background is... Also a standup. Edited to death in photoshop.
  19. People who can't tell a vertical loop from a corkscrew annoy me.
  20. Hah! I called it a few pages ago. There's too little clearance to have lap bars, and I'm perfectly okay with this. I hope it's smooth, though, or else that might ruin the expirence.
  21. ^I'm kind of surprised how many people disagree with me; I for one absolutely love 90 degree banks (Riddler's Revenge's 85 degree bank before the mcbr is one of my favorite moments on any ride ever), reverse launches (The Mummy in USO did this perfectly), and beyond vertical drops (Maverick still has my favorite first drop title).
