  1. ^ Leafs fans need to cheer for something. It sure the hell hasn't been the Leafs lately. That said, Leafs need to tank this year, trade everyone, fire everyone, and start from scratch. This franchise has clearly run as far as it's going to go on this management, this team President, and this roster. There's no way to fix it except to gut it like a damned wild animal. Let's tank for Stamkos! Let's get some bright future mixed in with this drab present!
  2. San Di-e-go, superchargers San Di-e-go... CHAAAAARGERS Stupid Cowboys go and blow my perfect prediction record in the play-offs! I was seven for seven before Romo choked!
  3. Hmmm. An interesting attraction, sure, but the real question that needs to be asked here is: what are the odds that this gets Nikki and I to trek to that hellhole again? I'm gonna post 'em at "slim"... who wants in on this action?
  4. Trust me, you're not missing much but a higher credit count, and Beaver Tails!
  5. La Ronde is six hours away from Toronto and a lot further from every other park on the tour. I assume that's why. That, and the thought of poutine probably didn't appeal to Elissa's picky tastes!
  6. Am I the only one who thinks that the MCBR and the subsequent turnaround are looking just completely butt ugly? It just is so awkward and long. Ugh! I drove into the parking lot today to have a closer look at everything and it just really made me want to wretch. The rest of the coaster looks very nice, the curves are awesome, but that one part is just terrible. Maplehawk still looks fun, and I agree with the picture posted above by clewis4u: Looking at the coaster from the 400 south on-ramp is probably the most impressive place to see it from.
  7. Oh! Nikki and I will totally hang out with [edited because Nikki thinks I am a hick]you guys[/Nikki-related edit] at Canada's Wonderland!
  8. I'm still hoping that PCW will adopt "Maplehawk" as the name for SOMETHING, and they also have a Top Gun... COME ON. IT'S A PERFECT FIT. It's certainly better than "Flight Deck". "GET READY FOR YOUR LAUNCH... ON THE FLIGHT DECK" Puh-leez.
  9. Damn dude, that's a Holiday Beatdown! TIME TO SUE!!!!
  10. -- $250 for my Florida trip fund, which has since been cancelled -- Phoenix Coyotes white #19 Shane Doan jersey -- TaleSpin, Volume Two DVD -- X-Files, Season Six DVD -- MLB Power Pros for PS2 -- Bret Hart "Hitman" book -- two t-shirts, because all my shirts are crap and these are better I also got assorted candy... Skittles, Swedish berries, LifeSavers, gummisavers, Pez, and a shitload of gum, because I can never have enough gum.
  11. Only nine of them Will hopefully be ten after this year.
  12. -- Behemoth [Canada's Wonderland] -- Dollywood That about covers it. Not sure where we're going to get out to next year, but hopefully Dollywood will be on the bill. Might stop at SFOG, Carowinds, BGE, PKD if money permits.
  13. 001] Ghoster Coaster - Canada's Wonderland [1990] 050] Flight of Fear - King's Island [2005] 100] Sooperdooperlooper - HersheyPark [2005] 200] Renegade - Valleyfair [2007]
  14. My favourite part of the video is the four minutes of black at the end. Really makes me feel like I'm on the ride!
  15. Riding Mind Eraser at Darien Lake about 12 hours after dislocating my knee cap. Not a fun experience to have your legs whipped around while you can't even walk. Should've thought of that before I got on. Also, Tomb Raider at Wonderland. Honourable mention to the George Foreman Grill at SFNE. It would be first if it were a coaster.
  16. Am I the only one who thinks the guys filming this are just a wee bit too excited?
  17. 25 rides consecutively on Ghoster Coaster at PCW I also had 20 on Minebuster and about 16 on Dragon Fire. I don't much do re-rides anymore... usually ten tops.
  18. http://www.maj.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1410294 Okay, um... what the hell is up with Sol Loco [the white thing that looks like a ferris wheel]? Where are the cars on it? Is this the year they finally take it out?
  19. I like keeping track of credits, because I am a very list-oriented person. Having lists of my coasters ridden, parks ridden - hell, I even keep track of places I've eaten on my road trips on a list - is an enjoyable activity for me. Do I credit whore? Sometimes. I won't go far out of my way to get one kiddie coaster [we skipped Little Amerika on our Chicago/Wisconsin trip, for instance], but if I'm in a park with kiddie coasters handy, and they're not going to cost me extra or cause an hour long wait, sure I'll go on them. If I'm already in the park, why not go on all the coasters there? For one of your other points though, I will not go across the country to ride one new credit, no matter how big. It's both financially impossible and just isn't something I want to do. That said, I've never been further west in the States than Valleyfair, so there are tons of credits out west that I could see myself going to, rather than just one.
  20. Guaranteed, barring disaster: -- Canada's Wonderland, duhhhh Possibilities: -- Six Flags St Louis -- Worlds of Fun -- Silver Dollar City -- Dollywood -- Waldameer I also am planning a trip with some friends not related specifically to coasters, which basically right now is no more than, "Wait 'till the MLB 2008 schedules come out and we get more ideas"... however if things work out, another park or two may be added to the list if time permits! It'll probably be another light year next year, as I focus more money on saving up for a car/house, and Nikki focuses on her schoolwork. But at least we'll get the Behemoth credit!
  21. I gotta say, I'm quite pumped for this ride! I hope I can get out there next year to give it a whirl, it's looking pretty awesome so far! Plus I really like Waldameer, just a nice place to hang out, so any excuse to go back is a good one. That, and SPINNING DRAGONS WOOHOO
  22. Personally, looking at it from a side view, as I do daily on my way to work, I think the drop looks quite awkward. It's as though the track got built to about 65/70 degrees down and was going along fine... and then the builders noticed, "Oh sh*t, it's supposed to be EIGHTY degrees!" and then just built the track a bit steeper to get to the required 80 degrees for about ten feet. Seriously. About the mid-way point of the drop, from a side view, it seems to suddenly get a steeper angle of descent. I suppose this is probably the case on a lot of hypercoasters, but to me it looks funny. However, from the picture posted here, the drop looks damn sweet. It's also levelled out at the bottom and I believe they're starting work on the second hill today! I can't get into the parking lot with my car anymore so I likely won't get much closer than I can see from driving along Jane or Rutherford... but it's coming along quite nice, and the station is being completed at a high rate of speed!
  23. Was TGE's Comet relocated or rebuilt? [yeah it's slightly off-topic but I'm just wondering]
  24. Congrats, Larry! If only I could find a team around here...
  25. It looks too steep. That first piece looks almost flat. Looks more like the end of the final hill into the brake run. Bingo! We took some pictures and footage of it, but uh we're not gonna post any! NA NA BOO BOO. I work across the street from PCW, so I can probably take some construction pictures from my desk!
